I had my lap band surgery 4 days ago and I am still unable to keep fluids down. Apple juice and jello are definitely not staying down. Gatorade and water will go down but in only very small sips. It will take me an hour to get 8 oz of gatorade down. Eventually I begin spitting up a foamy version of what I was drinking. When I wake up in the morning, I spend several hours spitting up the saliva that I swallowed during the night. When can I expect to be able to drink fluids and keep them down? I was told at the hospital that my stomach was swollen from the surgery. Anyone have a similar experience to me? Thank you.
