LAPBAND DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
scratchibali replied to pstevens9@cogeco.ca's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry to hear about your experience. Have a talk with your doctor and surgeon again. Im sure they can help. The dietician cant do anything for the band or the way you feel. Dont give up, you habe the tool, put those docs to work or get them to see if something is wrong with placement. Best of luck -
Sliming happens when u r really stuck. Body produces it to help move food in or out. Usualy out. Almost like spitting up a jelly fish.

Been at 35 lb loss for last month. Had third fill today. Gurgle is back. Fill 1 and 2 did nothing. Feeling #3.

I like vanilla. Can mix into smoothies, by itself, or my favorite, mix it in a bit of milk and have it with cereal (shredded wheat) and blueberries.

I would probably get it checked asap. Better to be safe. -
I was told to change my bandages after two days. I had disolving stitches. Had a tiny bit of discharge on original dressing but not after.

Make sure to try and hold a small firm pillow or rolled up towel over your abdomen if coughing or heaving. Try lying on your right side propped with pillows. It helped me. Hope u feel better soon.

The port is stitched into the abdomenal muscle wall. Lumps / scar tissue is normal. Especially since you had an issue with rhe incision. Listen to your doctor, get a second opinion at emerg. I had surgery on march 13 and i have some bumps around my site also. -

March 2013 Surgery Dates?
scratchibali replied to ShannaS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found the gas x chewables worked but caused more discomfort than relief. Walking until shoulder pain was really sore then laying down helped me. Different feeling of pain. Weird but goes away. -
This preop diet is harder than it looks!
scratchibali replied to gina418393's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are allowed vegies, cook them in some low sodium broth. More filling and tastes good. It does get easier. You can do it! Ask your dietician for some help. -
Dont turn your health into a contest. If u make u make it. All the best. :-)

Dont "hardly eat anything"! You are slowing down your metabolism. Eat your protein and veggies. You have to fuel your body or you will become ill. Its not about starving. Read through your instructions and give the dietician a call. Its not a race. We will all do well if we follow the plan. Dont worry about others.

Boyfriend didnt agree with surgery
scratchibali replied to katiedee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a man, these are the times most important to be supportive and helpful. Its a hard enough decision for ourselvs to make and our loved ones should be there for us. Glad your mom is there for you :-) -

Good luck on Thursday. I am five days post op. Small sips is a big one especialy when taking meds. Still have a bit of gas pain in shoulder. The port incision still hurts and burns a bit if i turn or stretch the wrong way. I found the gas x worked but caused more discomfort than it relieved. Get walking around asap even its down the hall and back. I have found taking meds before i eat works best for me. Energy level is like a roller coaster as I didnt eat or drink enough on day 3. Make sure to have the shakes and liquids even a sip at a time. Popsicles and jello are life savers lol. A chewable or disolving multivitamin is helping me to.

Banded March 13/13. Waking up from surgery is worst part. Better and better every hour after.
