Hi fellow tubby teddy’s (or ex tubby teddies). I am desperately trying to find the name of a surgeon who is either a professor or associate professor in the Melbourne suburbs who does bariatric surgery. We saw him a few years ago and want to go ahead with the surgery. He works from a private hospital in the East suburbs (I think). If no one can help, who is the most recommended (and experienced) surgeon in Victoria. Everyones help would be much appreciated as it is for my wife and I am worried enough about her getting the surgery without being concerned whether the surgeon is good or not. I don’t want a best friend, I want the best surgeon. Thankyou every so much for your help

Friend jealous or unsupportive, or both?
BeardedBurbler replied to cookie2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That is so right Dean. You can not, no matter how hard you try, change how other people GENUINELY think. They can say they support you but it is what is in their heart that matters. What you can change though...is how you respond/think...in your heart...to these people. If i bugs you so bad, ask your friend if she has noticed your weight loss...if she responds positively, you have broken the ice. But is she is negative, thats her issue, not yours. all the best -

I asked my wife about facebook but it would give identity away (photos, names etc) which she does not want. I tried to tell her that there is no need to keep it all quiet ...the rich have life long facelifts to keep them looking good...this is not different other than it is a more worthwhile reason...your health. She is not ready to "come out" yet so unfortunately FB my not be an option. We are in a high profile business whee we live and even if I went on FB, sure as night follows day...someone would recognize us. never mind

Thanks ever so much Michele. Her appointment is 24th April so you are safe for your surgery. I would love to get your phone number but best you do it through a PM which I dont know how to do. my email is fam.pet@bigpond.com if you ant to do it through he email. Are you nervous about your op?..Your retired....you are probably in out age bracket (ageing gracefully- 4 days of 51!!!). We both wish you the very best with your op. IS there a way that I can be notfiied when you put a post on this site so we can monitor all of your progress? Like my wife...I am not a computer guru either.

Thanks one_elle26. It was not this Doctor so I found out but based on your recommendation, my wife has made an appointment to see him in a couple of weeks. He is overseas at the moment. Oops...no more "tubby teddies". Your advice is ever so much appreciated. My wife is not too flash on computers and forums but I will encourage her too. Thanks again

Surgeon In Melbourne - Associate Profesor
BeardedBurbler posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Praise the lord...I have finally found this site again. Hi to everyone. I am desperately trying to find the contact details of a obesity surgeon in Melbourne (east I think) who 3 years ago when I saw him, he was an associate professor. He may be a professor by now. He has his room in a quaint private hospital in a very leafy suburb. He was thin (of course!!) greying a little and not a short man. If anyone can give me his details I will be indebted to you for life. He was recommended to me on this site over 3 years ago and now my wife wants to get the whole surgery thing as soon as possible. How cool is it to have our own little Aussie section??? Americans and Aussies are just such different people. hope someone can help. if you want to email me it is fam.pet@bigpond.com cheers -

Yes in am an Aussie (Victorian) and joined what I thought was this site 2 years ago, lost all of my login details and had to re apply. The old site looked a lot different than this one and I was sure the site was an Aussie site. The main banners were all pink. Does this site have an australian section. cheers -
Hi Tiffykins - I am from Australia, 48 years old and type 2 diabetes and obese. Thinking about the VGS as the Lap band did not suit me. I read on this site that you have done some amasing research on the VGS that you might be happy to share with me. If so, it would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately my problem is not the food but the beer. Will the VGS help with this?
my email address is fampet@tpg.com.au . Anything you could provide to me would be appreciated
Cheers
