I've been battling the bulge for the last 12 years. I've tried many diets with some great success...till the weight comes back times two. Over the past year I've been running into some health issues...high bp, borderline diabetic and my primary care doctor has been on my case to lose weight.

I had gotten to the point that I couldn't do one of the things with my kids that I truly loved....riding roller coasters!! Because I couldn't fit in the cars because I had gotten so big. This devastated me....but didn't push me...yet.

Outside of my normal 9-5, I'm a drummer and a friend of mine took a picture of me playing from a side shot and that was wake up call!!

I did some research into bariatric surgeries and I settled for lapband. My reason being is I didn't want an invasive surgery and major lifestyle change. I knew lapband would change my life but not to the extreme. I also worked with someone who went through the bypass surgery and had all kinds of issues.

I spoke to my doctor and she referred me to Dr. Kane. I met with Dr Kane and within a month of getting everything approved and going through all of the tests, I had my surgery on December 11th.

The surgery has changed my life!! I won't be content though till I can get back on a roller coaster with my kids.
