My DH is 23 years older than me. He has been taking testosterone in the form of a gel for about 6 years. Works amazingly well. If I forget to reorder his meds in time, he can really tell what's missing--all the things Penni listed. All or most men have low testosterone in their later years (at least that is what our doc told us), and if they wanna try this, why the heck not!

Hi all-- I consider this site and all of you my "support group" as required by my surgeon. I was in a real blue funk all winter, didn't lose much--and finally got jumpstarted again about three months ago with what is now excellent restriction(lost 10 pounds from June 15 to today!). A social worker friend at work who knows I had the band, sidled up to me the other day and asked if I would mind if she gave my name to another nurse who she knows had a band too. So, we got together--and she invited two other new bandsters to come along! So great to chat in person. I told them all about this web site and how helpful and supportive you have all been. Nice to have online support and nice to have new friends to compare stories with, too!

There was a link to a gal's blog--her terrible journey thru post op complications--she was young with a little boy--has anyone heard if she is any better? I can't find the link and was thinking about her today.

yes, Kathy, that was the one. No new updates......

I was at work today--and it was wild--so busy all day long and just going from one patient to the next over and over and never catching up! Paused long enough at the desk to look over some orders and another nurse (with whom I am friendly, but not "friends" with) came up and asked me to help her. As we were walking to the patient's room she said , "Kimberly, I couldn't help but notice how small your ass is getting!". SOOO NICE!

I can't help myself--here is a pix of my son now.....he will be 6 the end of July Kindergarten graduation:

Here's me, age three. My son, age 1 with a pix of my dad-he was about age 2. He died about 6 weeks before I was born, so I think it's cool that Denny(my boy) looks alot like him. And here is my DH with our son on a recent camping trip to the Apostle Islands.

Reading your post mad me so sad for you--I remember what a mess I was after my sweet Boomer died. So sad. I am thinking of you..... Kimberly

I had my fill (had lost only 4 measly pounds between may and june) and he added 0.2cc's to my band. I could drink Water in the office no problem. Since then, liquids are no prob as long as I sip sip sip, but I couldn't chug anything to save my live--ya know? As far as eating---tiny amounts--like five bites of whatever is before me--trying to concentrate on protein--and after those bites, feeling uncomfy, but no PB's. Don't feel sick (however, right after fill we went camping and I was weak as a kitten and in the middle of no where--so just made the best of it--better now) and not hungry. Anyone ever lose like 20 pounds in one month?!!!! Opinions? Thanks! Kimberly

Not a misquito, but I had a tick on my arse the other day--ick! Under my uniform pants and inside my undies--just the thought of it is enough to make me illlllllllll........ I hate crawly things!

My son is almost 6, weighs 44.5 pounds and is about 46 inches tall. He is skinny. Interestingly, he was a big honkin' baby--10-9 and I worried that he would be big like me--however, he eats like my husband does--sort of grazes "good stuff" all day long, and stays busy, like most little boys, so I guess that is why he isn't overweight. I really thought he would be......

I've heard good things about the tanning lotion that Jergen's makes--hard to find in some places--some of my friends are selling in on Ebay and doubling their money. it's that popular.

Children's Clothing seller board over on Ebay.....
Kimber-lilly posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I frequent that board because I sell clothes(Mostly kids) on ebay for "extra money"--ha --extra money--what's that??? Anyhoo, today someone asked about lapbanding, and a whole bunch of people piped up both pro and con--of course alot of it was totally anecdotal--exaggerated "facts" about risks and outcomes..... A gal posted that both she and her DH had the band and she gave very good advice..... And three of the posters recommended this site. I PM'd the OP about LBT, too. Interesting....what a small internet world we have.....some same posters on that board as on this board...... -
I had a BMI of 39 and was panicked about it! My doc said to him "39 is 40", but I was sure my insurance co would not pay---hence, I ate like crazy to get over the 40 mark--sick, eh? Gained weight to lose it.....doc did not know I did this and would not endorse, of course! I was over 40 when I had my surgery, but all my records show me at 39, so my insurance co didn't balk about that. I had no co-morbids.

Living well is the best revenge......

Well, I don't drink much, but I recently had some root beer and it was a terrible experience! I was a belching machine--all I could think was "thank goodness I am here in my car ALONE!!!!" not pretty!
-
No, you are not unreasonable for expecting your DH to be supportive and kind regarding your weight loss (and woohoo! to you for the minus 35 pounds!). Unfortunately, some people don't "get it" and you can talk till you are blue in the face and they might not ever get it......so it's good you came here for support! Everyone here is great, very helpful and behind you 100%! You have alot to be proud of and while it doesn't take away the sadness that you feel from your DH's words, know that I am doing a happy dance for you! xoxoxo Kimberly

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y49/denmother1999/bearprintonthewindow002.jpg I think that thing belongs to a bear! It wouldn't be such a big deal if my husband didn't just leave for Canada for a week long fishing trip! Now I am wondering if that big old bear is coming thru the window while me and my little boy sleep! I called the sheriff's dept. and they said the usual, no food outside, no garbage --which we have neither. It started coming around when we put up a new bird feeder, but it kept knocking it over--my DH said it was a racoon. now this...... YOu guys think it's a bear? Kimberly :think

Kimber-lilly replied to Kimber-lilly's topic in The Lounge
Well, he probably breaks all the band rules as he eats--so if he comes back to eat, here are the rules: EAT S_L_O_W_L_Y Chew all your food WELL No drinking with eating Take at least 30 minutes If you get the golf ball feeling, back off ! Tiny portions Eat your Protein first (as long as it's not me!) -

I measured it--it's about 4.5 inches across and 4.5 inches high. Crazy. I wanna live near some concrete! ha ha I slept with the upstairs windows open last night--heard something outside around 330 am, but was too tired to get up and look! Can't wait for DH to come home! off to work! Kimberly -

Hello all! I just got home from work--happened to have a patient who is my neighbor--I told him about the bear--he said , "oh that big thing has been up by our house last week, too!". I told him I called the Sherrif's dept about it and their only advice was to "have an escape plan" if the bear gets in the house--He just laughed (he's 80!)--and I was thinking the only way I could escape would be to die immediately! But really, we (my DS age 5 and I ) would have to go out the upstairs window and jump off the roof and run like heck! Oh my, paints a pix! Wait till the DH calls from Canada for his mid week family chat check in phone call! Of course the story will be embellished a smidge to heighten the drama! ha ha An escape plan--can you imagine what my house would look like if a freaking bear got in here?!!!!! I had friends who had a squirrel in their house and THAT was a disaster! Oh well. Hope everyone had a good day! xoxox Kimberly -

Well, we survived the night--no intruders! YAY! YOu can bet the place was locked up like Fort Knox, tho! Off to work today--feeling much better now that there is no new activity. have a good day, everyone-from Kimberly's Wild Kingdom! -
My grandparent's summer home was in the middle of the northernmost Wisconsin woods. All the photos I have ever seen of my Grampa are when he was a young man, with hair, and as a fairly young man (30's) with NO hair! There wasn't a progression of hair loss, just there one year and gone the next. He told all of us grandchildren and grand-nephews and neices that the reason he was bald was because when the Indians came, they all rode on ponies and all he had to ride was a buffalo and they caught him, then scalped him! I believed that way longer than I should have..... My cousin Maria (2 years older than my sister and 6 years older than me) very seriously told us that you would DIE if you slept with your bra on. We didn't know how that would work, but promptly told our mother the news. Wanted to keep everyone SAFE, for heaven's sake!

I am seriously considering having this done and I wondered about pain, healing time, results, complications, do you have a new bellybutton? How exactly is the incision done? Thanks! Kimberly
