  1. I know this is old but I had Mehta. I love him plus he's sexy as hell! I guess that helps that he isn't the most upbeat guy. He's straight and to the point and I like him like that. He doesn't mess around and he doesn't lie just to get your money. My band slipped bc I had a local dr to me(PA) doing my fills and once I felt I was too tight, he didn't want to take any out bc he said I was doing so well. No crap, I was throwing everything up. I'm getting re-banded on Monday and will go to Vishal only for my fills. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App and LuLu is so great! She actually had bypass and the band on top Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm getting re-banded next week- so excited. My band slipped and was removed 2yrs ago and I've gained 50lbs back. Ready for it to be back and the excess weight to go away! One major rule I broke last time was drinking soda and not waiting the specified times before and after drinking. As for the soda, I'm already thinking about what I could use to replace my beloved captain and Coke. So far I've only come up with using those crystal light packets and ordering Water and captain or vodka. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Yeah I don't think I'll be one of those superstars waiting a year. I'll be glad I can wait a month lol I'm a bartender. Looking for a replacement for my favorite captain and Coke! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    BMI 27

Wow what a crappy feeling when you're too fat for society and are made fun of, feel unhealthy, and cannot lose weight always hungry, your weight is just going up and up but then are made to feel like you're not obese enough within the obese community. Well. Here's my take; I have a bmi of 31.9. I'm 5'3" and 180lbs and I feel like shit. but I've been worse. 4yrs ago I was 260lbs and I had the band placed. I lost 130lbs. I felt amazing, like I was finally the girl I felt like I was deep down. I could wear cute clothes and had confidence again. But my band slipped after 2yrs bc it was too tight and my fill dr didn't want to take any fluid out he thought I was just overeating and I didn't push the issue. I've gained 50lbs since then in 2yrs. So I'm having the band put back in next week. I'm scared it won't work as well as it did the first time when I lost 15lbs week one and 45 the first month. 90lbs the first year! Well I only have 50lbs to lose so yeah it will be slower but I still hope for 10-15lbs the first month...mainly cuz it's summer and I hate wearing cardigans and longer sleeves bc I hate my fatty upper arms. I know it's not how fast u lose, but if u say u don't want it to come off at a quicker rate, you're lying! So, my point is...if I don't get the band, I WILL be 260lbs again within another 2yrs. I'm not willing to ever go back to that misery and depressed state I lived in for so many years. I only have one body and one life and ppl can say "oh if I only had 50lbs to lose, I'd be happy!" But that wouldn't be the case if you were there. Yeah maybe if you'd already lost a bunch of weight and were on your way down, you'd be glad you only had 50 to go. But you wouldn't be happy and content staying 50lbs overweight and probably gaining more. And it is no easier to lose weight at 180 as it is at 260. If anything it's harder bc the weight comes off faster the bigger you are. We're all dealing with the same feelings and issues. We're unhappy and want to do something about it. The "Do Over" journey

Wow u are all so brave! Good luck to you all in your renewed journeys!! I am a newbie bandster, only 1.5mos out. Any tips on not gaining back the weight? And if u do get a too tight fill, must u do a complete unfill first, or do they just take a little out. Maybe I just read that one post wrong. Maybe u guys could join a group, or even start a group for ppl starting over! I am in a small secret Facebook group for ppl who got banded in April like myself and it's great! I was actually recruited from here and it's probably the only thing that's truly kept me in check w myself. That might be something to help u all support each other and keep each other in the right mind frame- as if ur starting from the very beginning almost! Wish u so well!!
  10. Was hoping I might find someone who lives relatively close to me, Northeast PA, to have a local band buddy and/or mentor. I am 26yrs old and about 1.5mos post-op, just had my first fill May 9th. If I cannot find someone locally, I would still definitely like to find a band mentor who is a little bit further than I. Thank u!

    What helps with fill swelling

No offense, but I am soooo glad to hear of SOMEONE else who has this issue. 4days of this...that can't b right. I haven't been eating. I just drink little sips and it just won't stay in there. I've lost about 20lbs in 5days. Why didnt I have this issue on days 1&2...I could swallow things fine then nothing came back up.

    What helps with fill swelling

I was banded about 5days ago. At first, I was STARVING on the liquid diet...then about 3days ago, I started havin to pretty much spit up the liquid that goes in, even water. I don't feel hunger pangs like I did on days 1&2 anymore. I did throw up normally 2 times but not in the last 24hrs. I called my surgeon and he doesn't think it slipped, he said its probably just swollen and feeling really restrictive. It almost feels as tho there's a clogged drain down in there and it's just sitting full of liquid not passing thru any more. I can't seem 2 find any info online about band swelling immediately post surgery. There was a feeling of nausea, but that's subsided quite a bit today. Now it's just wanting to drink and nothing wanting 2 stay in.
