AmineR8705 replied to GingerAnn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Ginger!! Good luck tomorrow and you will be taken care of with Dr. Rochrscheib!! I had my surgery on the 21st and it was really good experience! I'm glad I found there office and there staff! Let us know how your are tomorrow!! -Amine -
Hey Culver! I have BCBS of IL (Anthem is close to the same benefits I have) It didn't take me very long to get the process moving before I got my approval in a week. It depends how busy the medical team is BCBS. They have there own set of doctors that makes the medical decisions for WLS and or any type of surgery. Ask your doctors office on how quick they get there approval's back. Since it is almost the middle of the year you might have a longer wait. Hopefully that isn't the case and you get approved and have patience! Good Luck on your journey! -Amine

best thing I ever did
AmineR8705 replied to gilda85_99@'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Take some Gas-X strips, using a heating pad (worked wonders for me) and get up and walk around your house or outside to get the blood flow moving. I also shrugged my shoulders from time to time but what your feeling is temporary! I'm 6 days post op and I'm glad that phase is over!! Take care! -Amine -

As you already know I was banded on May 21st as well I haven't had any issues with bending over since 3 days post op. I kinda felt like my port was moving as well and I called my doctor and he told me its just the muscles around your port are healing and tighting back up. Ever since Friday I just had that tightness and I had a few instances where I though I was injuring my port area but my port is still there! I think what we are feeling is temp anyway I'm ready to get onto solid foods but I have another two weeks.......lol -Amine -
Man... I haven't posted for awhile! I'm getting behind lol. Well I was banded on May 21st and have been doing awesome!! Gas pains and burping were my only issues! Happy Monday everyone!

Hey everyone! I'm three days out from surgery and feeling pretty good. I had some gas issues yesterday in my shoulders and lower back. My port sight is really sore and really tender. I was able shower today! Thank the lord! I thought I was going to go nuts! So I have been able to take Jello, chicken broth Water, yogurt and water. Still trying to figure out the sensation of being hungry while I'm healing. The only signs I'm getting is my stomach growls really loud and I feel pressure build up and it gives me pain in my lower back until the pressure releases and the pain goes away! Has anyone felt that before in the first few days? Other than all that I'm doing pretty good and taking each day really slow!

I'm 4 days post op and just drove about 3 hours back to where I live (Drove to may parents before surgery) and I didn't have any issues. I haven't taken any meds since the day after surgery. If your going to drive, make sure you miss the speed bumps. I was worried that my port incision was going to have issues but I put my hand over it/secured it as best as I could if I couldn't miss any bumps. Felt good to drive after being stuck in a house for 3 days lol. My Doc said the same as everyone said above, once you are off your meds you should be good to go!!

I feel a lot better today! I took a ton of gas-x in the past few days and I'm glad its almost gone. I have had a few pains today but nothing I couldn't stand lol. I'm glad to be on the other side!!

I have been using Bariatric Advantage from the beginning of my Pre-Op diet and I'm still using the post op too. I'm on day 4 and feeling really good! Good luck on your journey!!

I drank a full protein shake for breakfast and didn't have any issue getting it down just took it really slow! No gas pains so far today! I'm still feeling pain when I try to burp is that normal 4 days post op?

Incision site pain
AmineR8705 replied to Lizzytish11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some surgeons do it differently I'm pretty sure. I know someone that has there port on the right instead of the left. It might just be there preference. -
Incision site pain
AmineR8705 replied to Lizzytish11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm one day post op (surgery was yesterday) I have 4 incisions 3 normal and one for the port. My incisions are pretty sore and my port site hurts the worse but it isn't that bad. My port is located on the left side of my stomach. It hurts when I breathe in too but its pretty normal from what my doctor told me before I left yesterday. I have just had some issues with gas pain around my collarbone/shoulder area but gas-x and walking around fixes me right up! -
Well I'm on my way to the surgical center as we speak. Can't wait to get this over with and be on the other side!
-
Yeah my incisions are really sore and all around the surgical areas are tight. My incisions are closing up as normal and causing the tightness. The soreness is normal but its no bothering me to much. I just got done walking for the past 20mins.
-
I'm feeling pretty good! Just really sore and trying to get some liquids in.
-
I'm doing pretty good! Just relaxing and getting up and walking around a 2 hours. Surgery went awesome! Didnt have any issues in recovery other than switching beds. But you will be taken care of!

Thanks Steph!
