Will continue to work on the 4 in August. Thanks for the challenge, it helps to keep me accountable.

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Morning all, been too long since I have been on. Super crazy month in July with road trips or camping at least 3 days out of every week. Had my second fill on July 21st but only .25 cc. I felt I needed one since I really feel no restriction right now and the head hunger was getting really bad. Seems that the weight loss has also kicked in the menopause symptoms big time. Having terrible hot flashes both day and night. But--have not let any of that stop me from really work on this new lifestyle. Because I am a teacher I am on "vacation" and so have the extra time to really exercise(which I have always hated) Start each morning with either a 30-45 minute walk/ jog or run(an unbelieveable event for the old me). My energy level is great and my stamina is so much better. Treated myself to some new dresses last week when a friend talked me in to trying on two smaller sizes which I thought would never fit--bought them both(on sale CJBanks for 9.99) Helped to see that change since I was a bit frustrated that the scale was not moving all that much and I have been working so hard. Have found that the fitbit keeps me moving and motivated also- if I don't have my 10,000 steps in before bed I run in place till I get them. Stay strong March bandsters!!!

    Summer Challenge-June!

These weeks are flying bye way too fast, life extra crazy since school left out. Not sure that I have remembered to check in at all. Started the month at 245 down to 242 doing lots of mowing and major mulching(at our blueberry farm) plus bought the fitbit to track steps. Pushing myself each day to get over 10,000. Keep up the good work all.

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Morning fellow March bandsters, ready the posts many of seem to be in that bouncing pattern with the same pound or two. Was a bit frustrated with it as well but saw the doc yesterday and he was so encouraging. Had lost 8.5 since last appointment so he was worried about it coming off too fast which can lead to issue like the gallbladder. Together we agreed to wait to do a second fill see how this month goes. I have a slight restriction and go pretty well between meals not hungry(except for the bored hunger which is in my head not my stomach). As much as I want the weight gone I also don't want to live constantly nauseous or with things getting stuck easily. Love the quote from Paris "the lapband doesn't make losing weight easy, but it makes it simple. " It has helped me make this life change and keeps me on track.Stay strong all, we can do this!

    I Stumbled.......

Yes Yes Yes Guilt is a major dragon for me in this battle. I have promised myself that I will never let it draw me back into that dark cave to sneak eat . This is a life long commitment so there will always be celebrations or special days or even slip days. Unless it makes me ill( haven't found anything yet) then I can have a small portion or taste, enjoy it, chart it and move on to the nonfood fun- part of life. Don't let other peoples concept of what your diet should be dictate how you feel about what you are eating. It gives them way too much power, the food way too much power and you become less. This is my battle and my rules and I plan on winning. So can you. SO glad you are back on track!

  16. So glad you ask this, had my first fill this afternoon and the headache started on my drive home. Wondered if it was having my head down so low when he was getting set to do the fill. Had only had a half a banana and some sobe life water for lunch before the appt. Its all gone now. Was able to eat a regular dinner with no issues.

    HELP explain a fill

Jackie and Banjo thanks so much for your answers. I have my first fill today and am a little anxious just wondering about the process and the change it may bring. Allie I am almost 7 weeks post op, my first appt back with my surgeon last month was just a weight check, a look a the stitch sites and a quick talk to let me go from soft to stage 3. Met with the nutritionist last week and was surprised to be told to limit the shakes and use real food instead. I am looking forward to a little more help with from the band with this fill as my hunger does show up between meals again. Thanks for posting the question as I had it as well and still don't know how to post ones to the forum. Good luck.

    2nd fill down & a B12 shot

Have been on the shots for almost 2 years. Way before my band they found it. I do not have the enzyme in my system to process the B12 out of food. It is definitely a hereditary condition in my case. I know when it times for a shot as I get sluggish.

    April Showers Challenge

Ended the month same as I started it which is a bit frustrating but better than a gain. Will just continue the fight next month.
  21. I'm beginning to think I am an odd duck because I have told many of my family and friends and even coworkers(who I am close to) that I was getting the band. At this point they have all been wonderful and so supportive. Of my three siblings 2 have also struggled all their lives from weight and they have both expressed their pride in me making this step and it has encouraged them to try the battle again. And it is a battle with the band as well. Keep up the good fight and accept the spoils of war when they come your way.

    Surgery Scheduled for March

So glad to hear that I am not alone this month. After such success the weeks before the surgery and the weeks after this stand still has been very frustrating. Trying to stay positive because I know have lost, I can get into clothes that have not fit in years and my coworkers have begun to notice and been so encouraging. Just wish the scale would move. Go for my first fill on May 5th and my doctor had actually said at my last appt to just heal and try and keep the 25 pounds off. When he said it I was actually a bit miffed thinking he believed I will fail but maybe he was just warning me that the quick honeymoon was about to end and the real work to begin. So glad I have my fellow bandsters to help keep me on track.

    I gained 3lbs since yesterday

Thank you Terry, your post was spot on for me. Was doing the whinny what the heck happened mope because I too go the scale today and had a 3 lb gain. Really put me in a miserable state of mind. I am 3 weeks out from banding and started regular food last Tues. But I also started exercising each day and had done a 2.5 mile walk yesterday. Also know I am not getting my water in. Thanks for making me pull myself together and get ready to tackle this again.

    Hands and feet freezing

Thanks for the insight, had just been to notice that I have been colder recently. Up to this past week I thought it was the miserable winter that wouldn't end but we had a nice warm up and I was still cold. Fingers and feet esp. Glad to know its not just me.

    Emotional

Actually talked about this with my primary care doctor today and he also explained that not only is this a time of great change in our relationship with food but that also the body is adjusting to the new model of life and that is done through our hormones. So yes the weepy time is quite normal. I am just a little over 3 weeks out from my banding and have had those moody days also. Down 24 lbs and am so thrilled with the energy level I am now having. I actually look forward to exercising and go start sweating instead of weeping. Good luck, stay strong and know that there are plenty of supporters out here for you.
