Had the Lapband in September 2008 lost 185lbs over the next 2 years. In oct of 2012 Lapband was removed because it was tearing into my stomach. I lost 8 pints of blood and spent almost 3 weeks in the hospital. Now I have to live without it and its really hard. I'm only up 8lbs from my "normal weight" but I'm starting to slip in old habitats.

Soooo Almost 3 years post band removal and I'm up 30lbs... Damn that hurts just to type it... Didn't realize how the little things the band did to help me.. I miss it. I guess its back to doing it the old fashion way...

Drives me nuts... Sizes are really all over the place and I like mine loose... At least until I get surgery

LOL, You girls think too much... we aren't as focused in real life. I mean looking at a picture or a woman on video is different. I tend to like women that like me, that's usually a determining factor then go from there Personal preference... Hmm I've had both but I do like a little extra to grab on to :)

It doesn't look like you need it LOL

Yes sir and being down 175lbs, I'm a happy man. What good is a fishing pole if you don't know how to fish

Best advice, is to slow down... Very small butes and take your time. you don't get points anymore for finishing early. I could eat anything I wanted with time and tiny bites. Stop with the sugar free stuff, it's reinforcing the sugar thing. For me I was crazy hungry after I ate something sweet whether it was sugar free or not. Protein protein protein... Trust me it will be way easier with time. Realize that your eating because of habit or your thirsty. Get busy and drink more water... Doc gave me a goal of 60-80grams of protein a day. Tough to get unless you work at it.

Totally normal, your not chewing enough... Nothing solid and nothing starchy at first. I used to have the hardest time with rice and tortillas. What are you eating?

How many calories did your Doc want you on after you got back on solid food?
JustWes replied to rmalikone's topic in The Guys’ Room
Pretty simple, don't eat crap and if you do eat very little of it. I do some calorie counting because some of the things I think are low in calorie aren't. When in doubt eat protein and opt for the smaller size if everything. I tell people you not hungry. You're bored and thirsty. Drink some water and get busy. -
That's awesome Renee, good luck!

I had my band taken off in Oct of 2012 because it had eroded into my stomach. I was afraid I'd get fat again. I've definitely noticed I can't lean on the band to stop me from getting out of control. But I've also learned a lot of great techniques in the past 4+years to stop myself. I lost 185lbs in total but have only put 5 on since the band taken off... Still a struggle. So far so good...

Anybody Out There That Started 400+

I was 425, currently at 240... Feeling great. All the doctors tried to talk me out of a band and get the bypass... Very happy with my choices -

Did anyone have a problem with pop/soda?
JustWes replied to leannel90's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Those of you that haven't been banded, after you try and drink it the first time you'll not want it anymore... More stuff you just won't worry about after your banded. Discomfort is a powerful motivator. -
Mine is amazing now!!!!

Did anyone have a problem with pop/soda?
JustWes replied to leannel90's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ya soda wasn't an option for me... The carbonation is a killer... At least for me. For me anything sweet whether it had calories or not made me hungry. So I ate and drank sweet things in small portions right before bed. Worked for me -
I tell people I'm living the dream.... Focus on you, and everyone around you will respect it and support you or fall by the wayside...
