I mean do they actually pair you up with someone that is sooooo compatible with you?</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> hey chica actually considering they sent me 400..and i only wanted to speak to 2....not really altho' maybe in your age range it would. when i was in my early 30's like you....i did something like match.com and had a blast.... eharmony sends you people a few at a time...you cant "walk through the candy shop" to view all the flavors ha! i live south of I-10 off grand pkwy -

hi chica, i just moved here in october so i'm still finding my way. where is tomball?? i'm getting good with the circles altho' i dont get the "nicknames" for them straight ie. beltway = ??? i do know out here near katy ha! i have 2 gps's and i still get lost. ha! actually i have a funny story...i went on eharmony before i moved here just to see what type of guys are around. so far they sent me 400 guys and i've only spoke to 2. currently i am speaking to 1 of the 2. so we are just at the talking in person stage. of course i dont want to see him until i lose 40 more lbs (dont ask...i've been talking about this is therapy for 12 yrs ha!) so i wont go out with anyone being heavy. i figure i can hold him off until mid august. but i told my sister in law i was worried if he asked me to dinner. when i go out with them i have a ritual of walking around after i swallow something. oh well i guess i will worry about that if the time comes. tracyinKS...i was wondering about my own father doing an operation on me...ewwww. schexy: one look at you and your loving way with those adorable kids of yours...you wont have anything to worry about...but i will still pray... see ya later -
Nothing but water 3 days out
JosieK replied to Tallyjohn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi tallyjohn, i couldnt get alot down when i was first banded....i got very weak and wasnt recovering quickly enough. also when the calories are so low, the metabolism shuts down and i stopped losing weight. so only drinking Water is a bad idea. try to get Protein shakes or if you cant get that down...they have these protein test tube things (whey protein) that have 42 gms or smaller ones that are 25 gms. plus Vitamins are essential as well. we have to get rid of the diet mentality of starving then binging etc. anyway this was just my experience. good luck -

holy hannah.....you gals are an active bunch. they say "watch what you wish for" ha! i think i have too much restriction. i can drink water and broth. but i cant eat yet. also i have to stand to take much in. i've had a problem from the beginning in that i have to walk around to eat...weird right??? they checked my band position this week and they keep telling me...."perfect!" oh well i can deal with this till the weight comes off. last time i had a fill the saline left pretty quickly so i'm just going to go along with this. i can drink protein shakes and water so i wont be in trouble. terri: if you look at the % you've lost....you are doing great. starting out you had less to lose then alot of people that are putting out big nbrs. have you kept your measurements...i bet that is where you are showing results. you are really hitting the gym hard tracyinKS: i know i want to buy clothes half price but sizes are changing like crazy. (i'm not complaining). you made me laugh with the b*^tch slap comment teachlady: i agree with you about counting pre-op weight loss...it is definitely related to the band and probably harder to do. tracyk: the more i see of the TT operations...i am more open to them. there is a girl on the before/after pics that is having everything done and she looks good. she has been giving a blow by blow description of what she is going through. i think her father did the operations. hi lunasa, jennifur, mdrai, chica chula, bubbles, janiebug, puddy, househuntress have a terrific thursday -
good luck gwhite

hi everyone, want to check in....i had my second fill yesterday. it's great not to feel hungry. i was starting to think about food too much. i did a kickbox class this monring. it is so humid that i felt like i would faint. but i forced myself to stay. in past if i allowed myself to leave a class early...i would do it more often then not. so if i dont start letting myself leave early...the feeling usually passes gonnabfree: happy hunting at the garage sale. Kat: wow you must have alot of energy to have had a daycare. i love kids....but i find the older i'm getting...the less endurance i have. my niece went to new mexico this winter with her college friends and they had a ball. a very interesting state lunasa: i didnt know that about the word fanny...no wonder people would look weird when i'd say "get up off your fanny" ha! thanks for the news about TT. is your doctor in the UK? puddy: i was having a similar situation. i even went to a bootcamp a few weeks ago to ramp up my exercise....and the weight didnt move the way i thought it should. so i decided to get rid of my scale and only weigh 1 time a month. i decided to focus on cleaning up my food (which was getting very sloppy) yesterday at the doctors i dropped 5 lbs. i know with weights initially i may not lose weight but a few weeks down the road it speeds up the metabolism and the weight comes off. i also started focusing on the size of my clothes the scale is like a devil to me mdrai: thanks for welcome....i hear ya' about a fill calming the "hunger monster". today is the first day in awhile i dont have the voices. teachlady: thats a funny sight you describe in the new uniform. i heard something funny about low rider jeans. they said some people look like muffins in them....isnt that an apt description when the belly rolls over the pants. ha! jennifur: you're right. it stinks to get up to go to the gym...but the afterglow is worth it. i feel like "i'm one with the earth" ha! tracyin ks + tracy K : congrats on your loss.... terri: you mentioned a support meeting monday night. where is the meeting? have you gone to the thursday night one at starbucks near I-10/fri road? gotta go...i've been putting off cleaning up my back patio....the spiders are taking it over.... -
hi i just had my second fill yesterday and the new girl gave it and did a super job. in fact it didnt hurt at all.....

hi you guys are so sweet....and funny too... let me introduce myself. my name is JoAnne (my family calls me josie as a nickname) believe it or not i have kept up with most of you because i really enjoyed your enthusiasm for the program. i am 49 yrs old. i had lapband in texas on 3/30/07. i investigated the lapband in 2002 when i lived in NY. they told me i might not be able to eat steak...so i opted out.....the kicker is....i dont even like steak ha! i probably wasnt ready at the time. i recently retired and decided to focus on getting myself back in shape. i'm not sure what i'll do next.... anyway....teachlady...you are helping me to clean up my act. your results show that following the program to the letter of the law...really works Kat...when i first came on this web back in march and didnt know anything....you suggested i research the doctors in the "search" tab and mentioned spivak. i ended up using him and am soooo happy i did. tracy in ks and terri...THANKS!!! for your warm welcome... -
hi jm and mary, glad i wasnt the only one feeling that way...i am going to join the april group....i really need interaction....i talk to myself all day long ha!!! (just joking)

hi everyone, i was banded march 30, 07. i have continually admired the interactions you april guys have and wished i was banded 2 days later. (i went to catholic school when i was a kid so we tend to follow rules...april surgeries in april thread ha!!) when i expressed this to terri a few weeks ago...she was most welcoming in telling me to join in. i was wondering if anyone would have a problem if i join in here....i seem to talk to myself on other threads...and this is quite frustrating... thanks and have a terrific tuesday! -
nurseamy...you look FAB-U-lous i just remembered why i stopped posting on this thread (marchies) back in april/may....i feel like i'm talking to myself. it would be nice if people responded to posts. to be honest...the april surgery people have a model thread of everyone interacting with each other.... anyway just thought i'd put this out there because i used to eat over this stuff.... but no more

hi everyone, checking in.... finally feel like my food is in check again. whenever i have a good exercise plan.,...my food usually gets better because i always think "why am i busting my butt to eat junk" my DR's assistant and i keep playing phone tag. i need to talk to her about what i can and cant eat. i can eat a whole choc chip cookie sitting down. but i cant eat good food sitting down...weird. i have to stand and walk around to eat any Protein especially. this has been from the beginning of my operation. hi juli jm...great NSV hazelbunny: you look great. denise....looking great too have a good day all
-
hi denise when i first was banded....i was having trouble keeping anything down for weeks. i had a problem with PB's at night and ended up getting aspiration pneumonia...it wasnt fun. and actually quite serious
-
hi jm, first of all your weight loss is great....but i know how you feel when it slows down. one other thing i thought of that may offer help...when i am not going to the gym...to get started is a mental prison. i play the game, "should i go today or tomorrow or..whenever" once you get in the groove of going regularly...it definitely becomes easier. mentally i definitely feel better. so this is an added reason to keep me going. i had a doctor once (she was female) who said to go everyday so i didnt play the game in my head of "which day should i go, take off etc" this touched something in me. i cant physically go everyday. by the end of the week....my energy is gone...but it made me think to do the 6 days i'm waiting for my dr's nurse to call about my snacking.....i know thats what's holding me back... so....lets try together
-
thanks....i had it with the fluro the first time...but thought maybe something happened to it. i'm waiting for brenda to call me back to discuss if i need another fill right now thanks girls
-
hi nurseamy, you mentioned "when dr spivak had the fluro machine" does he still have it?
-
hi carriedba i've only had fills in his office and had to wait 45-60 mins each time i go. from what i've heard from some of the women in the waiting room...the surgery center is alot faster. unfortunately i had my surgery at park plaza so i cant go to the surgi- center. but i've requested dr spivak to do the fills so i've had facetime with him...which i like because i've had some issues. hope this helps
-
hi she's one of the best in NY. i investigated her when i was initially thinking of getting the band when i lived in NY. i opted not to get it because i probably wasnt ready. also she was one of the few drs. in the FDA trials...before the procedure was approved. i know a few people that were very successful with her. my doctor here in texas was also in the FDA trials. and he has a very HIGH regard for her. you may want to put her name under the "search" tab above to get more info from people who used her. in fact the guy who started this site had her as his dr years ago. good luck
-
hi jmcambra i can totally relate to your plight....i have a similar story about working out like crazy when i was younger and thinner. after getting the band...i intended to beef up my exercise but had a hard time getting off my butt.... before getting the band i hired a trainer to try to lose weight and only used 2/10 sessions. so i gave them to my sister in law who is a size 6 but had osteoporosis. so she started with him and met him without fail...and within a few weeks....she started to look very curvy, etc. my brother (who doesnt notice much) was commenting how sexy she looked. so this got me thinking to start again...which i did. however i was resisting going and committing. so i went to a bikini bootcamp in Mexico which really got me going. so i'm doing 4 cardio and 4 weight training sessions per week. ......thats the good news.... the bad news....eating and calories account for 75% of the weight loss. so my food has been up and down which has stopped me from continuiing my initial weight loss. i am now journalling my food. the trainer definitely got me back in the gym. i also decided to try a new class each week because i tend to be a creature of habit. so it sounds like you are onto your solutions... good luck

hi everyone just got back from new york visiting my aunt who has terminal cancer. my cousin had a get together for the family and we had such a nice time. my aunt looks great....but that wont be for long. the doctor told her to get her paperwork in order and have a healthcare proxy. my food was very BAD. i ate junk. i think i need a fill because i'm feeling like my old self. i am gettingback on track with spin class tomorrow. so that usually straightens me out anyway i'll be back later...just wanted to check in juli....pretty soon you will give lance armstrong a run for his money. thats alot of miles!!!!
