[background=rgb(252,252,252)]I am 35 yrs. old and a mother of 2 beautiful girls, 9 and 11. I am married a 2nd time (and last [/background] :)[background=rgb(252,252,252)] to a wonderful, sweet, sexy man. He is super supportive, but doesn't totally understand why I want this surgery because he thinks I'm beautiful the way I am [/background][background=rgb(252,252,252)] . I am a school nurse and I am working on getting my Masters of Health Science and I work a 2nd job at a skilled nursing home when my girls are with their father. So life is pretty busy! I have been heavy my entire adult life. I realize I am not as big as some others on here, but I feel just the same. I want to be healthy and feel good about myself. I want to feel beautiful. [background=rgb(252,252,252)]I love my girls, my husband, my job...my life. And I want to love me.[/background]
Update:
So I'm 36 now, ugh, and just shy of 5 months post-op from my RNY. I have NO REGRETS (except not doing it sooner!). I have lost 62lbs from my highest weight and 53lbs from my surgery day weight. I am loving life. I feel good and look good!! 7 wks after surgery, my triglycerides (fat in your blood, similar to cholesterol) were normal, and my fasting blood sugar was normal. My labs were perfect!
I can eat almost anything as long as I don't eat too fast and too much. Now sweet stuff...I can have a bite or two. Like this Halloween, hard to stay away from the candy, but I could have a fun size candy bar and be fine. If I had 2 in a row (I did once), not good. My dumping is a rapid heart rate and feeling a little breathless and anxious and nausea. Chicken is a little more difficult because it is not as moist as other food, but I made a chicken in the crockpot recently and with gravy, I could have 4 oz of that. Yummy.
