just to let everyone know that since my 4th fill (feb 24th) with dr.martinez in mexico i have weighed myself twice and lost 3lb the first week and just weighed in again and lost another 3lb i am happy that the scales are going in the right direction . i have trouble with most meat and can only really eat shrimp and scallops and ground beef which is hard for me as i am a real meat eater but obvious now why i am a chunky monkey !! i have strong morning restriction and less in the evening but thats fine by me, i still have my ten chins and a fanny pack but hopefully this is on the way out by the summer and might even get to wear some of these cute tops that are out now without looking like a plane about to take off (arm wings) ha ha . well i am on top of the world today people and just to let everyone know this is the first good weight loss in a year and a half so to all those bansters that think fills don't make a difference ,, keep with it and don't give up and if you can still eat like a horse like i did at fill 3 you may just need that one more fill to make all the difference !! on cloud nine today bansters and nobodys bringing me down !!!!!!

i am a british girl that would about die without my cup of tea but i have replaced it with de-caf british blend tea bags from tetley ,as i was getting seriously bad thurst at night. i don't drink coffee to much makes me piddle like a race horse . but i am trying this de-caf thing as my sister is in weightwatchers in england and she is like me for her tea and she said that she has been losing steady 2-3 pound a week and the week she went to de-caf tea she lost 5 pounds !! so whats good for the goose !! sherry

thanks girls (need the support) i have the self esteem of a fly. my husband is taking the scales and only letting me weigh once a week as he knows how depressed i get when its not going down, but hopefully i will see next week the scale go down a little , i will be happy will 1 to 2 lbs i am in the real world and haven't set a unrealistic goal . keep ya posted sherry

well i did it and went to mexico for my 4th fill (man what a trip) i had my fill done by dr.martinez and i am over the moon, i was so scared as it had been so long since i was looked at and i was shaking like a leaf , but everything was fine ,i got a 1cc fill and i am now at 7cc in a 10cc band and boy its working again. i suppose you could say i had a year off as i got a fill about a year ago and i felt restriction but it slowly went away through time or me just eating around the band and so i didn't lose a pound for all this time and got so discouraged i was almost thinking take the bloody thing out,, :faint: i am so glad i didn't and kept on as now i know i am back on track, i am self pay and the trip to mexico broke the bank a bit but if i now start to lose weight again its going to be worth every red cent !! i have lost three pounds since the 24th and could cry as its the first time in ages i seen the scale go down !! i went with hubby and stayed in the lucerna hotel (5 star) and had a fun night in there (no kids) say no more maybe thats where i wore off my three pounds ha ha. but i think i have sweet spot and know i won't be able to eat alot of the stuff i was cheating with like before , i have educated myself alot more and dr.martinez was brilliant giving me alot of tips.. well just a update and won'ted you all to know i am soooooooooo happy sherry xxx:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

hey guys , i can't tell you how happy i am , i had my fourth fill in mexico (boy what a trip from north carolina !!) and i think i am there SWEET SPOT !!!! i have a 10cc band and i am now at 7cc and its made all the difference, i can feel it now big time.. i can't gulp and i was at 6cc and felt hardly anything but now i know i am on my way. i am so excited and went on the scales today as a starting point and i will let you know my progress , hey anyone tell me how to do the scale at the bottom of your posts ??

hey there mate, i am from england (ipswich ) living in the u.s and also have a non f.d.a. approved band . having real problems with fills here in the u.s and i am having to go to mexico for one, but let me ask ya how much are fills at home ?? and is it still really new there , mum told me that ann diamond got one done and she was on that biggest loser show and hadn't lost !! i was thinking it might be worth me going home next time and getting my next one at home on a amily visit !!

i am british and had my band surgery in belguim and now living in the u.s.a , yes i travel !! my husband is military and i go were he goes.... and the short answer to getting fills is it's been a headache. i had a bioring band put in thats not f.d.a approved and i now have to go to mexico at the end of the week to get a fill, as none of the u.s doctors will touch me. its crazy as i don't think theres any difference on the band except the name, and because of this this i am a self pay and its going to cost me a small fortune just to get a fill but i need one so bad.. i have been a whole year with no weight loss as it was not at the sweet point before i had to leave germany and come to the states, i am really scared to go all that way and get told somethings wrong but i need it looked at and i am looking on the dark side a bit i know but nobody on here has ever gone this long without a fill and a check but it was just the position i was put in . fill 24th feb fingers crossed !!!

i was reading your post and found it funny how we are all probably around the same age and this happens to more of us than you think, i have been going through this too, i haven;t lost hardly anything yet but i know when i do i will probably be right were you are! you know my grandfather on my husbands side said something to me once and i am going to pass it on (he had 18 kids by the way) make sure everything you need is at HOME ! i think i turn alot of my own insecuritys onto my husband and need constant reasurance as i feel like poo alot of the time. as far as the sex goes i found the more i brought it to a head all i was really doing is killing it !! my husband and i talk all the time but i had to bite my tounge and try to let things happen and it is hard but the more the subject is brought up the more you kill the romance and then all your getting is (how was that sex) if you know what i mean. you are what you give of what i mean by that is , if your feeling sexier and more horny and give of that vibe let him see that without a big conversation and that might work. who knows men are a different species and i often wonder what planet my hubby comes from ha ha . you know one thing that i do know for sure is all about the cat and mouse , stop being the cat men like to be in control let him come after you and feel like he is getting the prize and that your not just there for the taking,, and as far as the boring nookie girl this is about 75% of us !!! what can you do after years of bonking the same man to put the thrill back apart from swinging from the light fitting lol i like toys and hey if he doesn't cut it i know theres something there that will !!! you have been down on yourself about your weight for years probably and now its like you are a moth turning into a beautiful butterfly and you want him be all over you as you feel the bomb now well truth is he probably loved you just as much when you were larger and is happy for your new self confidence but loves you just the same huh , i know i have a one in a million at home and yes he's boring and lazy and his ass often takes root on the couch but he's been through thick and thin with me i see so many people around me mess up in there marrages and it nearly always ends up in heartbreak and its just not worth it , keep working at it girl if your not in love anymore and it seems hopeless then theres no need to flog a dead horse but i think you do love him otherwise why would all of this be bothering you people that don't love eachother don't give a sxxt , keep your chin up and hey a horny movie and some k.y warming jelly and who knows lol !! he may of run out of idea's give him new ones by renting a few horny movies !! good luck from a overweight 36 year old trying to keep it together !! sherry

hi and welcome , my names sherry and i was banded in belguim by a dr neville he has doing lap bands for 10 years and was great but i moved to the u.s.a. and now have alot of problems as i have a bioring band and its not f.d.a. approved and i am having to go to mexico for a fill. i wish this band was about when i was living in germany (spangdahlem air force base ) eifel area. i miss germany and my husband would kill for a bitburger beer ha ha . my daughter still dips her fries in majonaise and americans think its horrible !! i am actually from england and what with my husband being in the military we get to see alot of the world but germany was definatley one of our best assignments (i loved the kindergeld !!) i wish the americans were more open to new things this f.d.a approval thing really holds them back and i know its because there so afraid of being sued but its very frustating , i have a band they won't look at and even my dog was in trouble she has diabetes and the insulin they gave her here was not kanine insulin it was human and nearly killed her, as once again that insulin is not f.d.a approved. its so exciting for you and who knows in years to come you may have the lapband of the future here in the u.s , well nice to see some one from across the water and man i wish i was back there sometimes, i am in north carolina now and probably going to move again in about a year or so , so lets hope where ever i go next they know what a lapband is and don't think i swollowed a plastic ring ha ha .. if i had known that this lapband was going to be so hard to maintain out of germany/belguim i think i might of waited or got it done here but the one they use here is the old style ( you can"t win) anyway must go good luck and well done on your weight loss i bet you feel great , what did the doctors say about any prospective problems with your band if any . have you exsperianced anything so far ? sherry

still on the low carb and really feeling weak moments but still haven't caved in , i can't wait for my fill !! i love those carb solution shakes in the can there the bomb to get you over a hunger pain (night times ) back later sherry

i will have to tell you what a difference having a fill makes after late feb when i get my fouth one done , i hope i get that feeling of full alot sooner than i don now though and i will be set, i am doing quite well on the low carb thing for now, i would kill someone for a sandwich but i am doing good and not cheated, i don't lose on the low carb diet but i don't gain at all either. i hate my scales right i think they need some wd40 as there stuck lol but hopefully that will change soon huh, well to whoever are losing congrats and i hate you (not really) i will keep you posted and learn to say no more thats enough , i tell my hubby to tell me "should you really have that much or thats enough " but he is so scared of hurting my feelings and me ending up getting upset but i wish my kids and hubby would help a little more, i will work on them though as believe me when the i feel fat lectures start i drive them nutts . it kills me when my daughter tells me your not fat mommy but then plays wiggle wobble jelly on a plate with my stomach !! catch you all later sherry xx

:eek: i was just reading about sweet spots on here and was very interested in a post with the differences in what this means to everyone, i know i am not at mine but like one lady said some peoples sweet spot is when she can not eat as much and therefore is losing weight, my problem is the amount i eat and i am afraid i have been waiting for the band to tell me when to stop by pbing or having a pain , this lady said when she had her fill she got a feeling like water was going through really slow and i had this with my third fill and told the doctor i was too tight but do you think that was my sweet spot as it freaked me out a bit having that sensation and feel now i wish i had left it in but i am going for another fill soon , i quess the sweet spot is when you can eat alot less and be satified basically but do you think to some degree you have to tell yourself o.k i am not hungry anymore , i have a big problem with this and always have. i need this band to stop me . i actually don't mind pbing or having a pain except when its the first mouthful as i know its then i didn't chew well enough, but i think thats the only time i get any sign, i sometimes get a pain and almost can feel it ploping through the band and i then can carry on like normal does anyone else get this and do you think if i get to the SWEET SPOT i will still get it , i know everyone is different and fill levels and feeling vary from one banster to another but i feel like i am beating my band !!!

i hope it is the same for me too. my doctor did the same and when i hit that point your talking about i said it was too tight and he pulled some out, i think it was because that was the weirdest feeling and it felt almost like i couldn't swollow but now i think that was my sweet spot, i am going for a fourth fill late feb. so now do you have a full feeling for alot longer too ?? i get really bad hunger pains still after 3-4 hours and i swear my food closet can talk and i hear it calling me, lol
