  1. I'm soooooo excited! I made it to just over 50 lbs lost! Still have a long way to go, but this feels awesome. I've never lost more than 30 lbs before and always gained it back, plus more. I celebrated with new shoes and a fun new water bottle. Also bought water bottles for my staff who have been amazingly supportive. Only problem is that they're expecting something bigger for the next 50...better start saving. Motivated!!!

    50 lb Milestone!

    Thank you all!!!
  3. Was banded November 28, and still no fill. I'm down 47 lbs and losing at a steady pace. It's been so hard, but also encouraging that I've been able to do this with no fill yet. Instead of hoping each time I see the surgeon he'll give me a fill...I'm now trying to see how long I can go without one. Motivated!!!

Over 3 Months & No Fill

I didn't specify in my original post as to what has been hard for me. The "hard" part hasn't been because of hunger. I'm eating lots of protein and staying satisfied between meals, and because of that, the steady weight loss, and a joint decision between my doctor and myself, we're holding off on a fill until we feel like I need one. The hard part has been more psycholgically related, but I have a great support system and am feeling better every day. I know I will need/want fills eventually, but have no problem with the fact that I haven't had one yet.

    Seeking Former Foodie Mentor

I'm with you and can relate. I was banded November 28, 2012, and am down 47 lbs. I did not get fat on processed or fast foods. I ate way too much of lots of good, fresh and even healthy foods. Even tofu and vegies can be bad if you eat a ton at one time. I do a lot of recipe searching and modify ones that are too high in carbs/calories. I even eat out some, just order from the appetizer menu. It takes work, but it's worth it. I could not do this if I were eating plain chicken and vegies every night.

    Spaghetti Squash?

Love it. I treat it like spaghetti and make all kinds of different sauces. I also used it in Phad Thai instead of noodles. I love pasta and wasn't convinced I'd like it at first, but I use it all the time now. I measure it-usually one cup as one serving. You can google the nutritional information.

    Growling stomach

I'm 3 months out and still have a pretty noisy tummy. The other night in bed my husband pointed to it and asked if I could please turn that thing off. Lol. Part of life now, but worth it!
