Pain after surgery
hockeymother replied to Laurie8855's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very lucky. I'm on day 4 with very little gas pain, no incision pain. But I take my meds religiously and move and walk a lot. The only discomfort I have is not being able to sleep on my side yet. But it's getting better with each day. Now I find myself always worrying about eating properly. Wow, that's new! -

Is Won Ton soup broth bad?
hockeymother replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I am supposed to eat soup broths and protein shakes. But I'm worried that the won ton soup broth would be too high in sodium. -

I guess that's how I'm feeling. I'm scared to start eating for fear that I won't stop. I'm trying to ease this eating thing in slowly but I am ok with having no appetite right now. So I just won't push it to much. So many things to think about, worry about. But I'm sure it will all come together. -
banded yesterday
hockeymother replied to carolinekasting's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Wed the 15th. I've had very little pain or gas so far (knock on wood) I have been up and walking since the afternoon of the 15th. I take my meds religiously and use the heating pad as soon as I feel any type of shoulder pain. I think I am one of the lucky ones. Now my biggest concern is getting the proper amount of protein in. I have no appetite. -
I just got home and I am feeling great. I went for a walk around the block and it felt good. I am eating a sf jello right now and is going down well. Gas is moving out. All good news so far. I hope this continues, I was prepared for the worst, making sure to take my meds on time, taking gravol and Gas X. Reading all the posts on this site has been so helpful to me, Thanks to everyone on here.

Congrats, you look so fantastic. You are an inspiration to someone like me who is only 1 day post op. -
I had my surgery this morning at 8. It's now 5:30 and I am feeling fantastic. No pain, no gas. I slept most of the day but have gotten up and walked around for about 10 mins. Should I be expecting the hammer to come down? I'm worried that it hits hard over the next few days. Can anyone give me some experiences with the post op pain and gas and what I should expect given my first day was so easy.
-
Thanks for the heads up. I'm really keeping on top of my pain meds and take the gas x regularly just in case. And I am using the heating pad even if I don't need it. We'll see what the next few days bring.

Finally able to concentrate enough to post my successful surgery, I feel great, no pain so far, easy to get around. I know that day 2-3 will get a little tougher. Thanks for the well wishes. -

hockeymother posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The day is creeping up on me and I'm scared as hell. Not of the surgery itself but afterward. What if I gulp too much water on the first day, what if I eat the wrong thing, what if i don't chew enough, what if I can't handle the gas pain?????? So many what if's. what if I can't do this???? Did everyone feel this way? -
