Coffee (not decaf)??
hockeymother replied to cat whisperer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm dying for a Timmies, just wondering if anybody uses cream or milk. I used to love my large double double. -
Tastebuds messed up?
hockeymother replied to NYC1992's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two weeks out, and I'm having the same thing happen to my taste buds. Things I loved just don't taste the same. But I don't mind. It kinda feels good to be turned off by food. -
I started the mushy food stage - how many calories should I take in

I don't want to over do this, so I want to make sure I stay in the right range. -
I started the mushy food stage - how many calories should I take in
hockeymother replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For breakfast I had scrambled egg. For lunch I am having blended pea soup. For supper I am having ground beef and sweet potatoes. Pureed of course. -
What an amazing feeling, to jump on the scale and see this loss. With that said, I now move on to the puréed food stage and I know the weight loss will slow down. I thought I would be excited to start eating regular food, but I'm kinda scared. Scared of getting stuck and scared of enjoying the taste too much.

1week post op - down 8lbs
hockeymother replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks lab walker, and yes I realize that. I've lost many lbs over the years with the most being fluids at the beginning. Lol been there done that. And like I said I know it will change once I start actually eating food. But this time is different, I know that with the band, and my continued work with the band I will see long term success. That is what makes this journey so different from previous diets and losses. I am determined to get off this roller coaster. -

Thank you so much ladies. I've seen you two on here helping so many people. You two are truly inspirational and I feel secure and so optimistic about this journey, knowing I have such an amazing support system. -
Help! I have pic attached of what i am throwing up. Can someone help me out
hockeymother replied to Spoiledguti86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope all goes well for you. And god forbid I should be scared and post a pic like this looking for support and get that kind of response. CHEZ, I have been on this forum for over 3 months and you are the first I've seen to be so mean and hurtful to someone else. -
I was banded on Wednesday the 15th. I recuperated really quickly and was feeling my old self right away. Well, yesterday I decided to go for a ride on the ATV, BIG MISTAKE. I was fine afterward but later that night my stomach muscles started to feel tender. This morning and all day today my side has been aching. Like I pulled a muscle. Should I put a heating pad on it or should I put something cold on it?

Don't be so hard on yourself. This is a work in progress. It wasn't as bad as you think and you just have to force yourself to get right back on the wagon. You can do it. I'm sure there will be other bumps along the way, you just have to stop them and get back. Remember we weren't at this point because we could control ourselves with food.

How do I change my before pic?
hockeymother replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, awesome, thank you Jim. -
My goal through this entire process is to learn to live with all foods in moderation. I just watched my 13 year old daughter (who is the perfect size for her age) eat a hand full of plain chips and just stop. She didn't have to eat the entire bag, like I used to. If anything, this is my wish.

Learning About Moderation
hockeymother replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was perfectly written. Exactly my feelings. I can't wait to get there. -
One thing that is predominant on this site is that everyone is different. Drs give different advice. Some can tolerate foods that others can't. This site is awesome for help and guidance but we each have to find our own way individually. If carbonation doesn't bother you, let er rip!

What are refried beans? How do i prepare?
hockeymother posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I keep reading about refried beans and it sounds delish and high in protein. Just need to know how to get it and cook it? -
I can't take it any more!
hockeymother replied to indenial's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 5 days post op and have full hunger back. My husband is the same, he ordered pizza just a few minutes ago. But this is my journey, I've convinced myself that this is what I want. Pizza made me very unhappy, sad in fact. I will continue to work with my thoughts and retrain my brain. Remember there will come a time when you can eat those things but in smaller portions and in moderation. Also, I keep a clothing catalogue on my nightstand to remind of the clothes I will be buying. Keep strong, it will pay off. -

Day 3 - How on Earth Am I Supposed to Eat 65 g of Protein
hockeymother posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning banders, I am on Day 3 and can start taking in protein. I had watered down cream of wheat for breakfast this morning but could only eat a tiny bit. I have to drink the protein shakes to get the protein I need but I have absolutely no desire to take anything in but water. How on earth am I going to take in 65 grams of protein? Any suggestions. -
Headache and coughing up phlegm.. 2 days post-op
hockeymother replied to Jen-Chicago's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only got a headache went I wasn't drinking enough water. Keep yourself hydrated. As for the phlegm, not sure about that. Sorry. -
Am I Doing Something Wrong?
hockeymother replied to Bjc1227's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". -
I'm in the same boat. 4 days post op and hunger has come back with a vengeance. I keep eating my soup, cream of wheat, protein shakes and constantly tell myself this is only temporary. Plus I weighed myself and I'm already down 3 lbs. that's motivation enough for me. ???„
