Anyone on here had or going to have their surgery done at this facility? My surgeon is Dr. Mobley in Somerset Ky.

That does make me feel better. My Dr. said that two eggs over easy and two pieces of sausage takes him about 20 minutes to eat and after he feels like he's eaten a full coarse meal. -

Ok I guess. I'm starving to death at the moment but I just keep reminding myself that my surgery is 4 short days away. So far I have lost 15 lbs so I'm happy about that. -
What do you think is the key factor when it comes to continued success with the lap band. I've heard dozens of people say dozens of different things but the one I have heard the most has been to get regular fills. Do you agree with this and what is your opinion?

I'm on day 5 of my liquid diet. The first 2 days were the worst for me. But after that I kinda forgot about food. I feel so much better without all that poison in me so I just try and focus on that rather than whether or not I am hungry.

Anyone else banded from or around Laurel County
BigOBoy123 replied to jenriley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not from Laurel Co. But I'm right next door in Jackson Co. I'm getting banded on June 21st in Corbin. By Doctor is John Mobley. Hit me up. -
You might want to check into Care Credit. They cover surgeries like this. It's just like borrowing money from a bank, only it's for Medical procedures only. Hope this helps.

Ok, so I'm 3 days into my liquid diet and now I'm dealing with constipation. This is freaking me out because I am normally a very regular person. What should I do? As many of you may know is is very troublesome and at times very painful. What do you recommend?

Liquid diet Constipation

Thanks for the info everyone. This morning was very painful. I opted for 2 dolcalax tabs and so far everything is back on track. As far as the diet, I'm not feeling hungry at all even at day 3 so my spirits are high. My only draw back is that my Wife is 11 weeks pregnant with our twin babies and she's eating all this wonderful food and here I am stuck with protein shakes, pudding, and pop cycles ( all sugar free ). And just got back from good ole Walmart and she had to have Taco Bell on the way home. Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! -

I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet and I have went from 303lbs to 291lbs as of this morning. If this kind of wait loss typical on a liquid diet? Really wasn't prepared for that much of a loss so quickly. And it's kinda messing with my head because the scale says I've lost 12 lbs but I really don't see that much of a difference in my body. By the way, this liquid diet SUCKS!!! I am allowed 4 shakes a day, sugar free pop cycles, and water. HELP!! -
Well, here I am exactly 7 days away from starting my liquid diet and I couldnt be more thrilled. I have actually gone without eating a few times before the actual diet to see what it would be like. The first time was for 3 days, the second was for 4. I managed it pretty well. I drank the shakes and they seemed pretty filling. You may think I'm crazy for being excited about not eating for 2 weeks but I really look forward to it. Now I'm not saying I won't be hating it later on into it, I'm just saying that I'm excited about the changes that I am about to go through. Plus, have you ever noticed how much better you feel when you are actually hungry? I'm also sure I will be pretty moody during this time, but I will try and control my anxiety for my Wife's sake LOL. Anyways, I just wanted to get on here real quick and say a few things, as well as thank everyone who answered my questions that I know have been asked numerous times. You were very helpful and greatly appreciated.. ( Why does this sound like a goodbye post ) HAHA!

Yeah. June 21st. I cant wait. -
Can you explain the Green Zone please.

My surgery date is set and I start my liquid diet in 10 days. I am worried that the band will be very effective at first and then slowly become less effective. I know that this problem may be solved with annual fills but how effective is the band long term?

I just got a letter in the mail from my health insurance provider. I GOT APPROVED!!! Things were at a stand still for a few weeks and I was getting very anxious and disheartened about the whole thing. But I finally got scheduled for my EGD last week and I actually go for that this coming Monday. I checked my mail literally 10 minutes ago and the letter was in the mail. I am so excited and I cannot wait until my surgery day. YeeHawwwwww!!!!

EGD done. And I got my surgery date. June 21st is the day my life is changed forever. So excited right now. Two more weeks of real food then I start my 2 week liquid diet.

Thanks to all of you. I am really excited.

My doctors office has sent all my paperwork to the insurance company twice. The first time they said they didn't receive it, so this past Monday it was sent in again. I think I will call my provider myself and see if I can find out if I have been approved or not. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Congrats.

I just got off the phone with my doctors office. I have my nutritionist appt. this morning and they called me and said to attend a financial counseling class they were offering at the hospital today. Why would I need to attend this class if my insurance is going to pay. Keep in mind my paperwork has not, been sent in for approval yet so I am freaking out that my doctors office may think I may have to self pay. Or am I just freaking out for nothing?

Need a quick answer. Why financial counseling?
BigOBoy123 replied to BigOBoy123's topic in Insurance & Financing
Well, I met with the financial counselor and she informed me that I have a stipulation in my insurance that says they will pay 100% of my surgery, but they only pay 70% of after care such as pain meds, as well as other things such as the fee for using the facility in which they do the surgery. And that they will only pay the 70% after I pay $5000. After I exceed the 5K they pick up the 70% of all the other bills. I have BCBS FEDERAL, anyone else ever heard of this? -
Met with the surgeon, Nutritionist next.

I met with my surgeon the other day and talked with him for a while. I paid my $135.00 doc fee, and they set me up for my nutritionist appt. After that I have to have a upper Gi and from there I am guessing its the pre op diet then the surgery. Just wanted to give an update. Thanks. -
Did anyone's stretch marks go away after they lost the weight, or was their something you did to help then disappear?
