Lady VS replied to Flylovesong's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What an incredible story. I'm glad you have what you needed to get back on track. Congratulations. -
Wow! Hate to hear that. Wish you could get your care at TR in Houston. The doctors and staff are awesome. They should have provided you with everything you need to make WLS a success. I would keep pressing them if I were you. Good luck.

Dr. Hollis suggested that I purchase lite cranberry juice. I did for a while and stuck to drinking tea and coffee. -

lapbanding vs weight watchers
Lady VS replied to bmihigh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree with Parisshel. I did the WW program several years ago and I lost 73 pounds. I was excited and very happy. However, my family moved and I got a new job so my support system of fellow ww was gone. I tried to keep it up but as with a new job and move happens, the stress comes on and I got tired of counting the calories and points and gained the weight I lost plus gained more. However with the LB, I can still eat whatever I want and not worry about counting calories and doing gobs amounts of exercise if I go over. It is one of the best things that have happened to me. Good luck with your decision making. -
Another person who loves corn and has no problem eating it but don't because of the carbs. I finally had a tablespoonful of cream corned a few days ago. It was really good.

Hi and welcome. Prayer said for you. If you just take your time when you have nothing else to do but read, go to the pre-op, post-op and other sections of this board to hopefully get some of your questions read. If after reading many of the thousands of posts and you still have questions, post a way and somebody will respond. Congratulations on making steps to the new you. -
Yep, ditto what Gowalking said.

I was going to suggest the same things. Liquids for 24 hours. That's what I did today after having a stuck moment yesterday. Yeah, I didn't chew my chicken good enough. It happens.

Awesome! Keep going.

You are very welcome.

Here I Go Again-Band Replacement
Lady VS replied to FinAndFun73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear that. Hope the band works for you as well this time around. Have you seen an ear, nose, and throat specialist to get those allergies under control? I think that would greatly help. Good luck. -
What an inspiration. Congrats on your sleeve and the fact that it's working for you.

Well for me let's see. I had already had some testing done in March 2010 because I wasn't feeling well. That's when I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. Was only given medicine to help. I wanna say some time in either late October to early November I attended a weight loss seminar must have been November because I remember like two weeks later November 23 the day before Thanksgiving, they scheduled me to come in to do my pre-op measurements and give me a diet to follow. I didn't have to do all that psych eval stuff that others had to do. I could have scheduled my surgery sooner than I did but because I'm an educator I like to take advantage of the days we are off so I scheduled my surgery for the week before Christmas. However, my father became very ill in August of 2010 and died Nov. 11 so I guess with all that stress plus I was going to school finishing my doctorate, that hernia became worse to the point I could barely do the diet so I ended up having the surgery on Friday, December 17 which was the last day of school for Christmas break. So I had the whole two weeks to recover before going back to work. I'm glad I did that because I didn't have any problems in the New Year. Insurance does have a lot to do with how things go.

Hi there. I was exactly where you are but guess what? We are only supposed to lose 2 to 8 pounds per month (4 weeks) and the fact that you have lost 6 is right where you are supposed to be. More than likely depending on how you feel, your doctor may or may not give you a fill. You can't let what other posters post scare you. Keep following your instructions and you will be fine. You are already on your way. Keep going and good luck.

Thanks for that info.

What an awesome testimony. Thanks for sharing and congratulations to both of you.

Woot! Woot! That is great. You look marvelous. Congratulations.

Lady VS replied to catfish87's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's usually how mine looks. I never thought about videoing it. Thanks for sharing. I may do that next month when I go. -
Wow! That's interesting. I didn't know that our bands worked differently in different altitudes. Hmmmm...... thanks for posting the question. I will certainly keep this in mind for when I travel by air in the future.

How long should i wait?
Lady VS replied to tamaraking's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told by my doctor to wait four to six weeks. Like the other posters said, it does depend on your healing though.
