Looking for a Houston, texas group

Girl yes, that was me. They could only fill me a little at a time. That's why it has taken me so long to lose but I consider it as a good thing because now the weight will stay off and I won't be subject to gaining like I have in the past. As long as you are feeling restriction, you will be fine.

    did I do damage?

I think it was the fact that you hadn't eaten any food and just drank, drank, drank. If you are not in pain or, or not throwing up again, then you have probably vomited it all out of your system. I would however not do that again, and would stick to liquids such as protein shakes, broths and other soups for a couple of days to give your stomach rest and then try to eat some soft foods and then go back to your regular diet. Good luck.
  5. Hey lady. When you see the doc/PA on Thursday, tell them that you would like to make an appointment to see the nutritionist. She is on the 4th floor I believe.
  6. I too am surprised that fish and mac and cheese are on the menu at this early stage, but hey, if your doc didn't have a problem then that is a plus for you. Burst your band, now that's a new one. Like Mis73 said, doctor's orders are always first and foremost important. Continued success.

    Buying clothers

Well I'm cheap but I did buy clothes every couple of sizes I dropped. They were just too big falling off my arms and my waist. I actually had pants to fall off my rear once at work lol that's when I was like never again. I shop at Walmart's $3-$7 clearance rack and fallas peredes.

Hey there. It's a great investment. I'm doing well.
  13. It varies for me on a daily basis. Anywhere from 800-1200 calories.
  14. I see I posted here just a few months ago and am happy to be only 1 pound away. It is amazing to finally be here. It is still hard to grasp sometimes because I do unfortunately still think about food all the time. Night time is the worst for whatever reason but I don't give in. This has been an incredible journey and one that I will literally treasure for the rest of my life. My only other problem at this point is shopping. I still want to buy large cloths even though I'm not anymore. My brain hasn't caught up with my body all the way just yet. Still a work in progress.
  15. I too received mine from my surgeon's office. I also use my card all the time to order smaller portion meals. No, there is no discount but it does help to order from the kid's menu. I haven't encountered any restaurant that didn't honor it. They were like okay with a smile.

    Realize vs. Allergen

Hello there. I have the 10cc Allergan band. I personally do not believe it matters which type of band is placed in your body that allows you to get stuck or have restriction. We become stuck because we forget to chew our food to a mushy state. Everybody's stomach is different and that determines how many fills can be done around (in your band) it ergo the reason why some people have restriction on fills sooner or later than others. I'm no expert nor a medical doctor but based on experience and reading other people's stories, this is the conclusion that I have come up with.

    Why are YOU Fat?

When I saw this question, genetics was the first thing that came to my mind. I have always been chunky since I was a kid. How do I know? Well, we have lots of pictures to prove it. The fat genes run deeply on both sides of my family. I did try and control how big I was in high school because I was tired of being made fun of in middle school. I wasn't severely or morbidly obese until adulthood but I was always overweight. After high school and going to college is what did it for me. Meeting new friends and going off campus to have lunch was the BOMB!!! I loved my new friends because they never judged me or made fun of me. We all liked the same things and hung out all the time for lunch, dinner sometimes and the weekends as well. Food became apart of what we did as a social gathering. Then of course we did the same things on my mom's side the family. Party, party, party and with parties there is ALWAYS food and drinks. I also learned that I'm an emotional eater on top of my genetics. Like others have mentioned, I eat when happy, sad, mad, depressed, excited, and sometimes for no reason at all. I love food. Why have I changed? Because I hate medicine and got tired of hurting from this osteoarthritis and plus I don't want diabetes like my mom and now deceased father. I absolutely refuse to die a slow death due to my health. Plus, I have two beautiful daughters that I would love to see get married one day and have families of their own. They are my motivation and in spite of my genes, I will not be morbidly obese ever again. Yes, I'm still overweight, but at least I'm healthy and I will continue to make healthy choices whereas in the past, I didn't.

Hi there. There isn't much else for me to add. Seems like you are pretty covered with food choices. Good luck to happy eating.

    I got a new attitude

Hi there and congratulations to getting back on track. I see it's almost a year since your surgery. I would take the next couple of days to just doing liquids. You know the post-op diet, then mushies and then solid foods so that your body and band can get back in the mode of losing weight. You may even want to do the liquids for 5 days and so forth. Watch your portion sizes when you finally eat and make sure you are getting at least 60 to 80 grams of protein in. And when you feel like it, add in exercise to help you. Good luck.
