Hi David and congratulations on being banded. Each doctor has his/her on method of a fill. Some do less others even more. My fills were never more than 1cc. When it was, I ended up in the ER for being too tight. For your initial fill this may be sufficient but in the future I'm sure your doctor may not fill you as much. Again it depends on your amount of weight loss and how often you visit him/her. Good luck on your journey.

How Did You Find Out About LapBandTalk.com?
Lady VS replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was given several websites from my LapBand office. I was on lapband.com until they stopped the my journey section. That is when I decided to come to lapbandtalk to see what it was all about and have been hooked ever since. -
LOL Wow! Mothers, gotta love them. Don't feel bad. My mother does the same thing too. Will power is all I can say. Good luck and take it easy.

First of all, congratulations on 50 pounds down. That is great. I'm not sure what other road blocks you are going through but I hope it all works out for you. Blessings to you.

Hi Pampi. First of all, congratulations on being banded. To address your original question, unfortunately you do have to wait a few weeks before you can return to solid foods. You should stay on liquids for the allotted time your doctor has told you as well as soft mushie foods. We all have gone through this process. Yes, it is hard and is an adjustment, but in time you will make it through. You are already doing well. 16 pounds in two weeks is great. That's more than I did. You ROCK!!! Congratulations again.

Hi there. Not sure what's not going down. If you're still on liquids it should be going down rather easy. Are you trying to eat?

Heyy and welcome. -
Hi Runrun, it's nearly a year later. Did you have the surgery yet? If so, how are you?
-
Hi Mike. I was just wondering if you had the surgery yet and how things are going for you?
-
I was a slow loser too so don't feel bad. The main thing is that you are losing. Congratulations to onederland.

Hi everyone I'm new.... Can anyone help?
Lady VS replied to Zingythingy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry to tell you this sweetie but you need a small unfill. Too much in my personal opinion was put in at one time. I know from personal experience that lead me to the ER because I was too tight and had ALL my fluid taken out and had to start all over again. It's not worth living in misery. My advice would be to take out at least .5cc and see if that helps a bit. I hope you make the right decision. Hope you feel better soon so you can eat and drink properly. -
In the liquid stage, you should drink protein shakes, coffee, tea, lots of water etc. Soup broths, vegetable and fruit juice but watch the caloric intake. Juice has just as much calories as a protein bar or granola snack, etc. Good luck with starting over.

Yes, my pouch has been dilated a couple of times. You have to just stay on liquids for a week or two whichever the doctor told you. Then mushies and solid food. It is very hard to try and maintain when you know you can eat much more but it is doable. Good luck.
-
You should ask them on your next visit. I'd like to know myself.
-
When they serve my food I always say, OMG that's a lot of food. I will definitely need a carry out. They laugh and busy themselves with their other customers. Sure enough, when they ask me if everything was okay, I say yes and I'd like my carry out now. Then they are like yes ma'am. Just can't eat it all. Just to think, we used to eat it all and dessert too. LOL

Good morning Houston ladies. Today would have been a great day to finally meet each other. We could have met at the Galleria for a girls' day. Not necessarily to shop lol but to just hang out and get to know each other better. Maybe next weekend. I know during the week is difficult for me. What do you ladies think? @ Fearfefe, I live in Crosby so I'm out your way all the time. I like to shop at Deerbrook and TJMaxx in Atascocita. Maybe we could meet at TutiFruiti on 1960 one day. -
Yes, unfortunately that is a true thing to have happen. Though I personally never experienced it when I was morbidly obese, I did see others who were willing to help me over someone who was really bigger than myself. And while I was grateful for the help, I was like what about that person? She needs some help too. Gosh!!!! Discrimination at it's best. It is very sad though.
