Its the little things that matter.

Congratulations for the small things -
This isn't the first time I've participated in this race. However, it is the first time that I've done it since being banded. The difference is I wasn't dying from the long race. I didn't even drink as much Water as I did in the past. I even jogged more than walked as I have in previous years. It felt really good. Less weight makes a big difference in what you can do. Blessings everyone.

Not ready for mushy foods yet
Lady VS replied to nursewallace's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think a cup is too much. You should have at least a half cup of food. Yes this will always happen when you overeat. The pain subsides when your food is digested. Best of wishes -
Congrats on being banded!!!! I was hungry every day after surgery and every other time I was on liquids. I took a lot of headache medicine until my body got used to the liquid diet.

Food(s) you thought you loved...
Lady VS replied to steph2012's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, that would be pasta. I love pasta but since I've been banded, pasta don't love me. Every now and again I can actually eat a little Mac and cheese if it's really cheesy and spaghetti sometimes. Other than that, no pasta for me. -
Is there any foods that you totally miss?
Lady VS replied to jamilyne 102668's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No, not really. Can eat pretty much anything. -
Congratulations!!! Keep on healing.

Losing 84 pounds is certainly not being a failure. Bravo!!!! ALL OF US hit a plateau throughout the journey so that the body adjusts to the changes. It's a normal part of the process. Don't worry you're fine.
-
Congratulations. Rest well

These are the questions that you should have asked your doctor so that you would be absolutely clear on your journey. Hang in there. It gets better with time.
-
Great decision. You don't want to throw up. That's not normal. Be patient you will get there.

My greatest challenge was and sometimes still is is taking small bites and remembering to chew, chew, chew. Not so much now that I'm three yrs out but definitely in the beginning of the journey. It can be quite challenging. Good luck.

Last Rites Meal
Lady VS replied to Ossama El Maghraby's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately eating was the last thing on my mind at the time I had my surgery. I had a hiatial hernia that progressively became worse which allowed me to bump my surgery up. So no, I didn't have a last big meal. -
