83 lbs. lost in 7 months!
Lady VS replied to azaugguy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations first off. To answer your question, yes, everyday I have to tell myself take small bites and chew, chew, chew. It's just a part of our new lifestyle that has to be done. Everyday, I have to talk to myself or I will eat that big bite or eat too fast. Continued success on your journey. -

Wow! You look amazing. Congratulations. -
Congratulations on getting engaged. The only tip I can offer you is to follow your doctor and nut's orders. You really have to follow the plan in order to lose weight. Every time you deviate from it hinders your weight loss. Good luck

That's what I love about the band. You can always start over. Two lbs is not bad. You enjoyed your vacation, it's over now so get back in the saddle and keep losing. Best wishes to you.

Are you keeping up with what you eat like on myfitnesspal? Are you watching your carb and fat intake? You may also need to change your workout routine. After time your body gets used to the same old stuff so you have to change it up a bit. Good luck and don't give up.

Help a veteran get back in the swing of things!
Lady VS replied to stylehair4u02's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
As B52 said, your band is the key. If it's properly adjusted then you shouldn't worry about measuring. I haven't measured food in over two yrs. I can't eat that much. I know I don't get all that protein in. I just wing it day by day. Good luck with getting back together. -
One year out and only 50 pounds down...I feel like a failure!
Lady VS replied to CAishaGA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
After reading these responses I can only say congratulations on losing 50 lbs. I was and still am obsessed with weighing myself so I totally understand. Continued success. -
I measured my food for the first six months or so. Then I paid attention to what 4oz looked like via lean cuisine frozen meals because my doc said that's how much my total meal should be. So I just started eyeballing like tmf did and have been ever since. Good luck
-
I was told no carbs. I didn't follow anyone else's receipes except what my nut instructed me to do. All of our bodies are different. Please follow your surgeons orders. Good luck
-
Yep, what she said. I definitely had months where I lost one or no pounds. In time, it does come off. Continued success.

Actually it doesn't take that long to dilate your pouch. A few months after I was banded I can't remember exactly maybe three or four my stoma was sitting on the band. We saw this under floro so we had to take some fluid out so I could have a nice tornado look. I was on liquids for a week. What caused it? Eating to fast and taking big bites of food. I did really well for a while and a year or so later, the same thing happened again. Same problem as before. Eating too fast and forgetting to take small bites. I haven't dilated my pouch since. Eating slowly and taking small bites really chewing your food until it's mush in your mouth will help you to not dilate your pouch. Good luck

Congratulations on being rebanded.

Family/friends who say I've lost too much weight
Lady VS replied to Corridor72's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I completely understand what you're going through. My family did the same exact thing to me. How did I handle it? By allowing what they said to go in one ear and straight out the other. I didn't even comment. I heard what they said but didn't pay it any attention at all whatsoever. This is my body and your body, not theirs. Don't be discouraged. Keep doing you. Congratulations on the weight loss so far. -
That's why I love the band. You can always start over. Best wishes to u
