In July 2014 I had my band completely unfilled due to pouch dilation. By September I was able to begin refilling. During those six weeks I gained 18 pounds back, not because I was eating unhealthy foods, I think I was finally feeding my body after a couple of months of pain and unable to eat or drink well. My dr immediately filled by band to 3cc's, I did not feel any restriction. Two weeks later we went to 4cc's, no restriction but I could tell the band was there again. My last visit, in October I asked him to take me back to 4.7 where I felt was my green zone, prior to the issues. I have lost the 18 pounds, have full restriction and think I should maybe have .2cc's removed because there are some days where I experience discomfort and don't want to get caught with a dilated pouch again. I want to enjoy the holidays. We have to remember its a life journey and we need to be healthy while losing weight. I have to remind myself small bites, chew well and put the fork down. Please reach out if you are looking for support, it's hard when people don't get what you are going through. Happy holidays! B.

You are either eating too fast, or to big of bites or maybe the food is too dry. It's getting stuck. Do you feel discomfort in your band? I'm a year and a half out and that happens to me from time to time. I'm actually going for an unfill on Friday.

Over a year later, where is everyone with their progress?

Medical Alert Bracelet
TheBet1969 replied to forensic6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a groupon for medical alert dog tags. Really cute. A lot of different colors! Just go to your groupon app and under the "goods" tab it is listed. B -

New to Forum - banded on Feb 27 Wednesday 2013
TheBet1969 replied to TheBet1969's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello everyone. Hope you are all feeling well! It is day 11 for me from surgery date and I am feeling really great! On day 6 my dietician cleared me for soft foods so that I may enjoy going out to dinner to Celebrate my daughters birthday. We went to Bonefish Grill and I ordered their grilled trout with a side of broccoli. I was maybe able to eat a ...less than a quarter of the fish and two small bites of broccoli. But I took small bites, ate slow and enjoyed. Since then I've been having eggs for bfast, chicken salad for lunch and some ground beef for dinner. I have not have any negative results, thank goodness! Yesterday I ate one baby carrot with hummus, to see how I felt, and I was fine. I chewed and chewed and chewed! I am looking forward to day 16 to introduce all foods and to the end of the month for my first fill. How is everyone doing? When you drink liquids, do you sip or can you still take in big gulps? I miss chugging my Water .... Sipping out od a water bottle doesn't seem to satisfy my thirst as much! Please share your diets too. Xoxo, b -

Oops hit send by accident. I was sent one packet from my lap band advocate and another on the day of the surgery. One says week 1 (day 1-7) full liquid diet the other says days 1-5 Protein shakes. Then week 2 day 7-14. Soft diet foods: eggs, tuna, cottage cheese and so on. The other packet says days 6-10 Sliders: creamed Soups, yogurt, etc. I am not hungry and broth and muscle milk and Jello work great. Not in a hurry, just wondered. I was banded 2/27. My follow up is this week on thurs and my first fill is the 23 of march. Every place must be different. I will be calling the clinic just to be refreshed on info, so much info to store after surgery, it gets a little jumbled. B -

Guidance needed: is today day 5 when do I start soft foods? Or do I actually start on day 6? I was banded last week Wednesday 2/27. I have been drinking water, muscle milk, chicken broth and some jello. I am feeling very good and wonder if I am ready for yogurts, creamy soups and puddings. I also heard Smoothie Kings "the gladiator" is a great protein shake to have. I drank those during my pre op. Any feedback? Suggestions? Ty! B. -

TheBet1969 replied to Nothappy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was on 2/27. My follow up is next week Thursday 3/7 just to check my incisions and see how I am doing. My first fill isn't until the 23rd of March. Hang in there, the pain takes awhile to subside...b -
