Thanks all -
Love nachos and I find crispy ones are more band friendly... They don't gum up.... Everything in moderation..

If anyone is looking for some advice or has questions, I'm all ears.... Or eyes in this case. I'm in Canada about an hour North of Toronto, if that makes a difference

I'm 42, married and have two kids. One is gone to university and the other has two years of high school left. Been married 21 years. I'm in the Canadian Army and am in my 24th year. I love what I do, and can't think of doing anything else...plan to work until I'm 50ish, then should be in a good position to call it quits. I am trained to fix army kit, concentrating on electronics, however I'm more supervisory these days. I love life and leisure. I don't need a bunch of people or friends, as I believe in quality, not quantity... My wife is my best friend and I wouldn't have it any other way. We love vacationing together, and spending time with our kids, but we do realize they are growing up, and want lives of their own. I like to work out and get sweaty, spend time in the sun, read, walk, jog, listen to music and watch movies. My band journey started in Feb 2010 when a coworker told me his story of how he lost a bunch of weight and planted the idea in my head. After some consults and preop I was on the table on June 22nd 2010. My starting weight was 265. It's been good for me. At first the weight tumbled off but things have slowed significantly. I'm good with it. I can eat almost anything as long as i take my time.. i've had refux issues am on Pantaloc to help with that. of my 10cc band im roughly at 9.25 cc's and that isvthe max i can go without the reflux giving me severe issues. i still Get the occasional blockage and i know my slider foods. im trying to maintain a plateau right now so im trying to live as "normal" as possible. The band has certainly helped with my key issue of overeating and gorging, the rest is up to me to pick better choices. you dont change 39 years of bad habits in 3... it takes time, and as long as the numbers are in my favor, its all good. I'm in the best shape of my life, healthy and plan to live a long time.

Not very often this happens.... Normally when distracted or being a Hammerhead
-
Yeah, my family says I'm being belemic, but not in a hurtful way. Having some experience with firearms through my work in the Canadian Army, when a round gets stuck in the chamber an armourer normally has to do a "hard extraction" with a hammer or other tools.. In this case its my fingers down my throat...This is the term I've started to use to macho-ify the situation.... Occasionally a hot liquid will work......

Follow the guidelines and you'll do well.

Never had an issue with eggs.. Just made a concoction of 3 eggs, California mix veggies, a sausage, cheese and a bit of milk. I puréed it in my magic bullet and fried it up in some olive oil with a few sprinkles of Franks Red Hot. This made 1 cup when all blended Was a good loose consistency, moist and super tasty.. Good protein boost for post workout and a decent brunch...

Cakey stuff and breads are an issue.. Sometimes I even have a problem with liquids that are too thick, like a smoothie or even a V8... In these cases.. Sip sip sip instead of chew chew chew... Lol. My biggest issue is getting distracted while eating or rushing... Then I have to do a hard extraction....

I was up late at night suffering from some really bad reflux after a recent fill and was searching for other causes of my night time choking on stomach goo. I found this site and found my answers. I've been banded since June 2010 and have dropped 65 lbs. I'm kinda stuck at my current weight and am getting frustrated. I can't handle more fills, so I need an alternative. I work out like a mad man, and have completed many 10k runs and a half marathon....so I stay active... Ideas? -

Nope. The defill helped immensely... I doubt mines slipped... It's just finicky with a mind of its own -

True, and I can be stubborn times and weak at others... -
I tell everyone who asks... I'm in the army, and the Fat Guy stigma can really suck, so I had the procedure done.. Being in a workplace filled with Alpha males, you'd think I would shy away and get all macho. Nope. As a senior NCO, it's my job to lead by example, identify your weaknesses and overcome them, so I hide nothing and proudly explain my story.. I've gained nothing but respect from my superiors, peers and subordinates.. Honesty is the best policy.. Until your ready to share just say you had a "lifestyle change" partial truth..

That's awesome! Hahaha

From the point of view of a long time fat guy, I hear ya... The small pains are worth the long time results...
