PB'ing - How much is TOO MUCH? Errrrrr

@BeachBish. It's too tight and it's going to keep getting irritated/imflammed. Change ur foods. Don't eat things that get you there. After PB episodes go back on liquids. Protein shakes. I went thru that for 2 months, I lost alot of weight but was miserable and end up in hospital due to dehydration. Go remove just a bit and work ur way up again. As for me, I would never want my band to be that tight ever again.

PB'ing - How much is TOO MUCH? Errrrrr

Yup that's still me. My lunch is at 1pm. Breakfast is coffee or protein shake. Avoid liquids before and after eater. The tighter u get the more time you should wait. When I was at my tightest I would stop liquids 1 hour before eating and 2 hour after.

    STUCK BUT NOT STUCK

I'm with amponder I'm here to follow this conversation because it inspired me that you have done so well nad have kept your weight off too. I have a questions for you @@christina how tight do you keep your band? do you know what size it is and how much fill you have? As soon as I lose 40lbs more I want to keep it where I won't be so miserable but where I won't gain the weight right back either. I was miserable for 8 months and that's when I lost most of my weight but now my band is not as tight and I am trying to lose the rest by eating healthier and exercising. I don't always want to depend on my band to lose. But I do need it to keep me from going back to my old habits.

    Is that blood?

@@lisacaron Thank you so much for your advise. I know I'm guilty as charged. I know where I went wrong. My band was not as tight as it usually is and I took advantange and started eating stuff I'm not supposed to and this is what caused the irritation and swelling. I got carried away with the holidays and having so many family over for a whole week all we did is shop and eat and I went with it. They removed 2cc and now I have to give it a good month to let it heal and then I can start getting fills again .5 ccs at a time. I'm just glad that I don't have a slip. I love my band and I don't want to lose it. 7 months ago I experience the throwing up of blood and they losen my band and I was instructed to see my doctor and I did and got tested and everything came out good. The throwing up of blood stopped as soon as they removed 3ccs. This is the 2nd time this happens to me and I need to get it in my head that just because I can eat, it doesn't mean I should eat everything for example meats.

    Is that blood?

So I've lost 100+ and I've been doing really good till my band got so tight from eating the wrong foods. I noticed I was throwing up my liquids too and there were partical like coffee grains. I did a little research and even called my clinic and it was blood. That problem got fixed after I got my band loosen up, from (10cc to 6ccs). After 2 months I went back to get fills (8ccs) and I'm not even as tight as I was that one time and my band is tight again and I'm struggling getting liquid in and when I throw up occassionally in the day I see the dry blood again. I have an appt in a few minutes to get it back to 6cc or whatever they recommend to let it heal again. Has this happened to any of you and am I going to be able to get back to the green zone? I don't care to ever be tight like I was when I lost most of my weight but I want to get to a good spot where I can control my eating and lose the rest of the weight (30lbs) by putting in good work at the gym. Can anyone guide me on this?

    Thankful!

Amen! It's a love and hate relationship with my band but when I look on the mirror and I get tons of compliments left and right I feel so alive, I feel so good and I have no one else to thank but my bandy!

Foods that aren't good after band.

My family just don't get me and I think they feel bad for me but I tell them not to. I'm good, I'm losing weight so I'm happy. I good example that I give them is in the case of "lactose intolerance". Specially with people that love milk and dairy food, but they stay away from it because they know it won't be purty if they eat it lol! And some how they learn to live without it.

    Burping after drinking

So is burping a bad thing? I burp alot. When I feel that food has been stuck for I while I zip on Water and burp the food up until it clears or comes up. Lately my band has been really tight so even water will sit there for some time and i get the urge to burp and sometimes the water or Protein shake come back up and I have to spit it out. I blame it on the allergies but if my band continues to stay tight I'm afraid I'm gonna have to get some liquid removed because if I drink water at night it keeps coming up when I'm lying down and throughout the night. I'm starting to wonder if i have a pouch and food and water sit there and when I lay down it comes up. Last week I woke up in the middle of the night cause I was chocking on water and dinner :/ ?? I need to make time and go see my Dr. Any advise? 13 months since my surgery, down 76lbs

    Banders Exercise

So I usually do 60 mins workouts 6 times of a week, consist of some weights, treadmill, jog, and kickboxing class. Stopped losing weight for a good 3 months even after all my hard work, but I was toning up and losing inches. Anyways about a month ago one of my co-workers mma fighter changed my whole workout routine and I lost 4lbs in 3 weeks. I'm so happy for this. He recommends that you change the routine atleast every month and never do the same workout, you have to alternate. ex. One day weights upper body, next day crunches pushups and treadmill, then back to weights lower body etc.

Foods that aren't good after band.

When I am able to eat something without chocking I enjoy every bite of it. But yeah theres alot of food that I used to enjoy and now I hate but I only hate it because i cant eat it and I have not interest in eating it anymore for that reason. So I actually savor every bite of food I eat. I love smelling the food too but I don't care to eat it and get all chocked up on it or hurt my stomach. I get all exited when we go out to a nice restaurant but once I'm there reading the menu is actually boring and I have not interest in food anymore. I usaully order appetizer to play it safe.

    Anyone from Phoenix Arizona?

Hello Ladies and Gents, I live in the northwest valley. Was banded on March 2013. So happy with my band, I think I'm doing pretty good. My one year goal was to lose 100lbs by my birthday March 8th but I guess 70lbs is not bad at all. My journey has been very satisfying I’ve had my good moment and bad moment. I’ve learned that food is not a priority for me anymore. I’ve eliminated so many foods that it’s hard to eat a restaurant. But other than that everything has been good. Except the past 2 weeks or so, I’m pretty sure I’m hitting the red zone so I need to go get some Fluid removed, just a tiny bit because I'm having trouble drinking fluids and eating more than 1/4 of a cup without bringing it back up. The band is definitely a tool and not a weight loss miracle. For all the new banded people, at first the pounds come off easy and fast but you will reach points where you won't lose not one pound. Do not get discourage just change your eating habits and start working out, even walking for an hour a day. The more you lose the more you will become active. I am looking into joining a softball team and a kickball team. I feel I can do it all and it will take time but I can be good at it as I keep losing the weight. My advice to all all…. Eat lots of Protein and drink lots of water/crystal light. Avoid coffee or teas that have caffeine, I miss my morning coffee but dehydration is not fun. NO CARBONATED DRINK, TRUST ME IS VERY PAINFUL!

    Any Arizona bansters?

I'm from AZ northwest area, was banded on March 2013 in TR Scottsdale. Good luck to all the new bandsters. So far it's been peachy for me. At first the weight comes off easy but I'm at almost 11 months out and I need to put some work into it. What I like about the band is that diets do work!

    Banders Exercise

I usually work out during my lunch hour. I work at a fire station so we have a fitness room, no excuses. I do about 20 minutes of treadmill and jog for a minutes here and there. Then I do light weights many repetitions for a good 30mins 4-5 days a week. I also do 2-3 of kickboxing a week for 50 mins. The scale has not moved for a few months and its dissapointing because I won't be meeting my goal of 100 by march Anyways, my body is shaping up and my clothes fit alot lose. I look horrible in my current clothes and new new ones asap. But basically i was told that I was building muscle and losing fat with NSV. People say numbers don't matter but they sure do to me lol!. Havent' been on this site for a while. It is very encouraging to read your profile and see how well you have done with the lab band. Lately I been reading alot of negative outcomes in a different site and I been feeling a bit depressing over it and I am already thinking of what I should do if something goes wrong with my band. So far everything has been going very well and I have been on the green zone for a good 2 months. Have a nice day all!

    Fill #3

I heard 8cc is a good number on a 14cc band, can't wait for the next fill which will put me at 8cc - 8.5cc depending on what the doc decides to put in. I am back to the starving feelings and I hate it.
