Hello:) I'm just over 5 months post- op and have had several fill to get to 8.5 cc in my 14cc band. I've lost 60lbs most of the time with no noticeable restriction. For about 4 weeks I was feeling like I was just about in the green zone and lost pretty well and noticed a definite difference in what and how I needed to eat( at last) So 2 weeks ago I saw my Dr. and we decided to just try .5cc more. Since then I feel like I don't have as much help from my band. I can tell its there sometimes, but not even as good as before this last fill. Anyone have any insight or have had this happen to them? Thanks

Has anyone else felt this way?

I wonder if you need another fill. I wouldn't be able to eat bread with a meal. I understand that we are in control of our portions, but I'm not as hungry anymore and find bread, pasta, cake difficult to eat. I am trying to decide if I'm in the "zone" and think I am close- maybe another half cc. Keep up the great work -
I was banded on 2/25 and had my first fill on 3/22- 4ccs in a 14cc band. I have absolutely no restriction. I have been so good but only using sheer will power and a deep desire that this works. It feels like the scale is barely budging. I did go rogue today and ate somethings I shouldn't have- its just so frustrating to be hungry and be able to eat like I don't even have a band. I go next Friday for my second fill and I'm hoping he puts a good amount in and I get a little help. I also want to start getting back to the gym-I hoped I would be back this week, but hurt myself this past weekend. So that should help.

Hey all:) I'm four weeks post op and had my first fill last Friday. For the most part my incisions have been slowly getting better. Just my large incision still kind if burny when bending or getting out of bed. Since my fill on Friday, my incision has seemed even more sore and hurts pretty bad when moving in bed or getting up. I even feel a little pulling on my port. Is this seem strange or is it just still part if the healing process and maybe aggravated by the fill? Thanks:)

Thank you all for your responses! It is so reassuring to know that this is normal and will get better:) The support on this forum has already proved to be so helpful!

I have posted about this already, but I'm having a hard time believing that gas is the cause for this excruciating pain in my chest, neck, and shoulder. I'm 6 days post op. Should I call my Doctor tomorrow or should I just calm down?

How badly do you want to be Thin?

Thanks!!! That is right on and exactly what I need to think about. I'm only 3 days into my full liquid diet and almost a week post- op, and I'm struggling. I want to eat something so bad, but you're right- what I'm I willing to sacrifice to get healthy? I believe it will get better:) -
Newly banded- kind of freakin out:)
Grateful mama posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had Lapband surgery on the 25th so it's not even 5 days in, but I'm feeling overwhelmed. The gas pain has been pretty bad- especially in my left shoulder and neck. I'm using the heating pad and mixing rest with walking, but it doesn't really let up( I do sleep fine though:) I've been reading posts in this forum and have seen a wide range of this experience from a few days to having to get the band removed to escape the shoulder pain. I have also seen many people say they had this pain for several months and it helped them gage when they had eaten enough. I never bargained for this extra side effect. I know I have a lot of healing and learning to go, but I just feel like I wonder if I made the right decision and I'm worried. I probably should just stop reading about everyone else's issues, stay positive, and focus on myself. -
Banded on 2/19 and want to be sure I'm normal!

I've only had 3 bms so far and they have been loose but that's not unusual for me. Plus liquid in liquid out. -
The coffe flavored shake was a proticcino instant drink from Health Wise. I got all my shakes from my weight loss clinic and the brand they have is Health Wise. Because I just started, I haven't gotten into trying other brands or recipes.

I had a couple of shakes- The coffee flavored one I made with milk was the best. And I also ate a light yogurt. I feel way more satisfied today than with just clear liquids. It's neat that we started on the same day- it will be fun to check in with each others progress. As far as meds- I say take them if you're hurting. I have only been taking them 3 times a day,but that's still way less than the 2 percocets every 4 hours they were pushing at the hospital.

I haven't had any problems taking large sips either. My nurse told me to take 1 oz every 15 minutes, but I found I could drink more and more quickly. But I do find I take longer with full liquids than clear liquids. As far as soup goes, my dietician said to get soups and strain out the pieces for more tasty and more variety of broth. -
I also had my surgery on 2/25:) I have been home for 2+ days and I'm just starting to feel like myself. If I could just get rid if my shoulder and chest pain, I'd be good. My stomach is making all kinds of crazy noises, but I assume its because I started full liquids today. Yay for us starting this journey:)!
