I'm wondering if any one has Dr. Darrin F. Hansen from Utah? what did you think of him and his staff? What should I expect? I don't know any one that has him as a dr. and just want an opinion. this will be my dr. I'm meeting him tomorrow, and i've tried to do my homework but would like to hear something from someone that already goes to him. Thanks so much for any help

Then I'm lucky to be going to a great clinic! I just want to add that I have been following the different posts in these forums for a while and have come to respect the opinion of you both (and a few others) I have been very grateful for all the support I see and great advice and information I've learned through all the posts! Thanks

Thank you so much! I live about 3/4 hours away and so I will be traveling for every fill but I'm glad to know that he and his staff are good to work with. I know I will have most of my questions answered tomorrow but it's good to hear this from someones that has the same surgeon, really I appreciate it. I don't know anyone that has been banded and I hadn't heard anything good or bad about any of the surgeons but it makes me feel a lot better about my decision to hear a good experience

I will meet my Dr. for the first time tomorrow and will start my pre-op diet the next day. 16 days to go before banded. I told my DH I'm getting butterflies and he told me to enjoy it cause other than liquids that all I'll have in my stomach for a while. haha! we have to have a sense of humor, and although i keep hearing alot about bandster hell and know we're all about to go through it, I'm excited....excitement and a sense of humor will get all of us through it!!! April, I cant wait

This is great thank you so much for posting this, i had a good idea of how it worked but this is really educational. I also liked that it explained why or why not to do certain things it really helped to clarify things for me personally! Thanks again..! -
I don't have cable either, i do have antenna though so i get news and some basic shows, I never watch tv during the day only at night after dinner. My DH is a firefighter and son is obsessed, so Chicago Fire has become a hit here, Duck Dynasty seems to be something almost everyone loves we have to watch it online, my husband duck hunts and was a fan of theirs before the series. I like Dowton Abbey when its on.

Dr. Is charging fee for financing...wth
The B replied to brock1021's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
yes, my dr. charges about $800 more if you use any type of credit card, care credit, etc... anything but cash or check that must clear before surgery. I knew this and so we didn't use any credit luckily we were able to save up the total amount which is $10,975.00. thats a lot money to have to come up with when your not expecting it. I'm glad you were able too! Good Luck -
I've been reading from the forums for about 3 weeks and I have had a lot of my questions answered, I want to add that I love how supportive and straight forward most of you are. I've waited to post any thing because I have been waiting to make sure that I would be able to get the band. My surgery date is April 5th, I'm self pay and this has been in the works for a while, my husband and I hate using credit or having payments so we've saved for this. I'm very excited my DH is very supportive I'm surprised i'm not more nervous. I'm really looking forward to learning from all of you and you don't know it but you all have helped me already!

Thanks you guys! support already, luv it . Brock1021 I know what you mean about spending all this money on yourself for me it was cruise to Alaska or this, my husband loves Alaska and it was hard to even ask for it, not because i was afraid of him saying no but because i knew he wouldn't. But I think that my whole family will benefit from this down the road, when I think of all the things that my kids and husband want to do that i shy away from because of my weight, it makes me sad. I'm doing this for myself but I'm admitting my problem and need for help partly for them too.
