    Need A Buddy

My name is Rosemary and I had my surgery 12 days ago. I feel like I am doing well but also have a long way to go, like about 135 lbs. But I try not to think about that, I am trying one day at a time. We all do better with a buddy and I am enjoying this website. This is my email if you or anyone wants to email and we can talk more: granniero@bellsouth.net. Hugs, Ro

    Medifast Opinions

I don't have any experience w/Medifast. I am 11 days post op and have been using Bariatric Advantage and like that. I heard Unjury was good, my nutritionist said it was adequate, the BA had more B vit. I think nwhatever works. Good luck !
  3. Today was day 9 post-op. Dr said to see him in a week and stay on full liquids until then. Office could not schedule me until 2 days before Thanksgiving which will be 13 days out from surgery. I have done well after first rough afternoon and evening at home, had dry heaves and lots of nausea. No pain, just soreness, never took anything for pain after hospital overnight stay. Have started mushy stuff like mashed potatoes and yogurt. Tonight had a couple bites soft rice, broccoli and maybe 3 tblspns soft cooked pork loin w/juice,chopped fine. Am starting to walk for exercise, use my driveway for a track and increasing time daily as strength builds. I feel good. Down 11 lbs since surgery. Hope all you November banders are doing well !!
  4. I have only used paypal once or twice but will get these from you if I can. Don't I need a paypal address for you or something? Thanks. You can email me at granniero@bellsouth.net if u want.
  5. Hi, What size are the shake mixes? The ones I have are in big bags that make like 35 servings. Are yours like a single serving? I just had my surgery 8 days ago and I like the Bar. Adv chocolate and vanilla, that's all I've tried. Don't need the vitamins, I have a bunch of those. What are the nectars? R they like a protein drink. Thanks for further info. Rosemary

    Anyother November 2013 bansters?

I am 2 days out from surgery. Stayed 1 night in hospital. By last night, my first night home, I had major nausea and dry heaves several times. Had jello and water, not much else. Today has been much better, managed 3 half cup protein shakes, sipped water all day, had more jello and a popscicle. No nausea today, thankfully. Have taken no pain pills, not really hurting. Sore on movement but not pain. Hope everyone is doing well.

    Anyone getting banded in Nov?

Got my date today, Nov 13th. Have been on 2 wk pre-op diet for a week, 1 to go. Chicken, fish, vegs, no carbs and 2-3 protein shakes a day. I am 62 yrs old and looking forward to a new life. Sick of these limitations on my body(fat). Look forward to the help from sharing here.
  9. I got my date today, the 13th. Getting nervous but excited. A week ago I started my 2 wk pre-op diet that consists of fish, chicken, vegtables,no carbs, 1-2 protein shakes a day. Have done well but a slip today, plan to continue on. From my top weight, I am down 18lbs so far, not all of it since I started 5 wks ago. So happy to have forums like this to share the journey. We can do it !!
  10. I am Rosemary. Have appointment to see dr for last visit. Anticipate surgery for Nov 13th. Can't believe it's almost here! Anxious to get started ! Am 62 yrs old, been struggling for whole adult life with weight. My daughter had the surgery 4 yrs ago and has done well. Let's git r done!!
  11. Hi Jill, I am 15 days from surgery if all goes as planned, have my last dr apt on the 5th and will set date then but that's what I am expecting. As a true food addict, I have spent a lot of time consuming food, grazing, etc. The thought occurred to me today, what will I do with all this extra time? I am so looking forward to a brand new life full of things I haven't been able to do in a long time, moving more, sewing clothes for myself like I enjoyed years ago, easier traveling, etc. I am excited to start this new journey and tho it is scary, I believe I can overcome, just take one day,one hour at a time. You're not alone and I'm sure we all have lots of conflicting emotions, let's hang in there together !
