welcome to bandland and no, no and no to the broccoli soup. Doddie has given you the best advice.

Hello out there. I was banded on April 26, 2007. While I am very happy with those that are losing an incredible amount of weight quick time I am personally very disappointed in myself. :cry I have lost only about 25 lbs and most of that was before August 2007. Really nothing since. I did gain 5 lbs while I was away on vacation over Christmas.:rolleyes I am wondering if there are others who started with this amount of weight out there that are having as slow a time as me.

Did You Start With 60 Or Less Lbs To Lose?
Donna D replied to Donna D's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thanks guys, you always cheer me on.xo -
Hi Doddie You are so right. I have already lost 2.5 of the 5. I have been very good with food - no treats - but of course I am doing little if any exercise. I am sure that unless I get moving the scale isn't going to budge. All the best to you D

Angelnurse's Lower Body Lift
Donna D replied to angelnurse's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks for your thread angelnurse. It is very brave and kind of you to share this rather personal stuff with us but I hope you know how grateful we are for the first hand experience. -
bbgot back How long has it taken you to lose your weight. I think my biggest problem is that I really don't exercise. I have really stuck to good eating habits since my vacation but I am sincerely going to work on the moving. That is probably my problem.

Yes Loriely I'm back from the Dominican - 5 lbs heavier. I started a new thread to find out if I'm the only one with 60 or less pounds to lose who is losing so slowly. I am so happy to hear that you are feeling so much better now. Where all the results good ones from your surgery? A new year and a better start for both of us I hope. xo

Happy New Year Doddie I am not doing that great. I actually gained 5 lbs while on holiday in the Dominican over christmas. I ate a lot of Cookies I guess. I thought I was doing pretty good. Only pb'd once the whole week at an all inclusive resort. I feel so discouraged right now. I have had the band since April and really haven't lost anymore than the original 25 (now 20) since then. I am trying to get a spot in the boot camp that Jill is doing at tlbc but there are only 12 spots and I don't know if I'm one of them. I am trying to be positive but I really feel very low at this time. My best to you and your husband. D

How you doing Loriely?

Hi Mandi (you better not be reading this while at work:paranoid) What has happened that you need a defill? I didn't read about you getting a recent fill. Is it just a blip? You have done incredibly well and should be very proud of yourself cuz all your lap buddies sure are:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Sorry you won't spend Christmas with Dan the man but that will make the reunion in the new year just that much yummier:kiss All the best, D
-
Lisa I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. They are so special to us girls. I'm sending you big hugs.:girl_hug::Banane20:

Peaches does that mean that you didn't get any more restriction from your last fill?
-
Hi Mandi Don't do anything hasty. There is some benefit to quitting in the new year as you will defer any payout you will receive until 2008. Take some time over the holidays to think it thru. You have done the most incredible job with your weight loss. I am so proud of you. All the best to you and Dan for a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Thank you everyone. I had a small piece of cake and almost choked to death so I will have to stick to the likes of cheesecake.. It seems to slide down easiest. Just had a birthday lunch and this evening another birthday dinner. Oh the things I must endure. he he he.

Today I haved turned 50. Wow, didn't see that coming. I wasn't really sure how I felt about this milestone but yesterday Kathy at TLBC asked me and I actually thought about it and realized that I am going into this new stage of my life very positively. I feel that good things are ahead. A healthy weight being a major part of that. I know I will only get better. I was so glad she asked me because I hadn't given it much thought.

Hi Doddie, I saw Jill yesterday and she did give me good advice. I told her that I make butternut squash soup and she told me to add a can of white kidney beans for protein and a thickener. She said that it won't alter the taste of the soup. I will try it this weekend. She said cut out all things white and stick to whole wheats. She said that I'm not eating regularly enough - every 3.5 to 4 hours - protein being a must at each meal. I'll give it a shot and see how things move.

You will go for another fill in 2 weeks. This can be a frustrating time as you get to a good level. Be patient (easier said than done) we have all been there too.
-
Hi Peaches glad you wrote cuz I wanted to check to see how you were. Green had some good advice if you need to go that route. How are you feeling today?
-
How is he going in Loriely? Laproscope? What is he looking for?
-
Hi Loriely No sale yet. I am taking the kids away someplace hot for Christmas so maybe something will happen while I'm away. I am so glad that you are getting looked after tomorrow. I hope all goes well. You can pm when you get back. D
-
Hi Doddie I am like the others as well. I don't have to much time to really cook anything in the am so I have a Meal Replacement shake with added protien powder. That can take me thru to almost 4 pm (I know that's not good either). At nite though, once I start eating I can't stop. I really have to get that under control. I am going to see Jill the nutritionist this week. I am positive that I am eating around the band. I haven't lost anything in months. I read that you had diabetic shock at aquafil. OMG are you alright? I think it's great that you can lower you meds but I think that it must be scary that something like that can happen anywhere anytime. How are you now?
-
It was good Loriely. I wish you could have come. The regulars from this site are a blast and pretty funny too! How are you feeling? When is your specialist appointment?

JulieNYC's Lateral Thigh Lift and Brachioplasty
Donna D replied to JulieNYC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Julie you look incredible. I can only imagine what you feel like on the inside (although that beautiful smile may be some indication!). May I ask about the incision for the outer thigh lift? Does it join the TT line and how far back around does it go?
