Lappers -When you have done your consults and asked all these questions was the surgeon uncomfortable with sooo many questions or happy to do it. I know it should be the latter but just checking.
-
Wow, I notice you newbies have already lost a LOT of weight. Are you feeling great or what!
-
Wow ladies your lists are fantastic. I really appreciate these. I am off for the nite. Thanks again, D

Ditto for me Rob

Argon can you add this to any drink, ie Crystal lite or tea? When are you allowed to have tea and coffee after banding?
-
Has anyone been banded here? How was it. I booked an appt with Lori today for March 29th/ She decides if I am a good candidate and then one week later I meet with Dr. Tin. You can get surgery within 4 to 8 weeks. Should the fact that I could get an appointment so quickly for all the above concern me?

May I ask a question about eating fibre after banding. I have read on here or somewhere that the DR suggests taking a laxitive instead of fibre rich foods after surgery. Any particular reason?
-
Yoda what is LMAO oh wait , I think I got it....laf my ....off. Kat you are too funny. Dr. Tin only does lapband there not this other stuff. Other DR's do that. fyi

No problem Doddie - I know you are right. As Rob says, the consult is free. Rob - if you go the TCC website and click on types of surgery then lapband there is a very detailed after diet but as I come to think of it I am not sure I read about pre-op either. They may tell us at the appt. It may be worth a go see. In all honesty, I am a bit nervous that with all these guys here on this site who have had it done, his name never comes up. I am leaning a bit myself to tlbc. Take care. I will stay in touch.

Wazup wit dat? I am the other person. No need to be so harsh. We are just asking questions. Robgoblin - I am going to the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic this Thursday but not to see the Dr only his consultant. I will let you know.
-
Wow SusieQ You have had the band for 5 years. Have you had any problems during that time? Do you still feel that you have a small tummy? Have you kept your weight off and consistent? Hope I am not getting personal but it great to hear that it is lasting that long. I was on another thread, I think a US one and man they were terrifying me about failure rates.
-
Yoda - thank you for your opinion Alex R. I wish you the best. I have been waiting to hear if anyone had the band done with Dr. Tin of the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic and so far no one has. I don't know that saving $1000.00 is worth going to an unknow. My first thought is NOT

Are you already banded? Who did it?
-
The fee is $15,000. Includes unlimited fills. Free consult. In fact consult is covered by OHIP - go figure! I am not sure how many he has done. His bio indicates that he is about 37years old. What sort of stuff should I ask?

I too am looking into the Toronto Cosmetic Clinic and Dr. Tin. I got an appointment for a consult with Lori, not the Doctor for Mar 29th and they said she will decide if I am a candidate and if so, she will have me see Tin about a week later. Should the fact that they can see me so soon and be able to have surgery within 4 to 8 weeks worry me?

Could you Dr. K patients tell me which airport you landed in. I am researching from Toronto, Canada and am trying to figure in the cost of flying back and forth there if his very low price will actually work for me. Thanks for your help. -
Hi everyone. Has anyone had the lap done at this Long Island Laparoscopy Centre. I am from Canada and he is the closet U.S. doctor to me. The price is about 3,000. less than here. Thanks for any info you have.:help:

Thanks Wheezy Who did your surgery. Do you mind me asking how much you paid?
-
Hi Wheezy, I am new to lapband land and have been reading this forum for some time now. I am still in the considering stage and after having read about your early problems, I am wondering how your weight loss is now. Are you happy with your fill. Did you find your so called sweet spot?
-
Thank you Smiley, I sure have a lot to learn.

Hi everyone. I have been reading this forum and doing some research for some time now. I would like to have the lap band surgery done in Toronto or close to Toronto so that the fills will be easier for me. Can any of you give me a range of prices out there. Thanks, Donna:help:
