That hula is fall off for sure! Argon - Don't think I didn't notice that ticker of yours go down cuz I did. You are an inspiration. I guess a little change in your diet got things moving (down) again.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Donna D replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hope he is UP and around soon and don't think anything dirty Yoda!!! I think you look great in your photo too. Susansilver - hate to nag about this but make sure you check the carbs in those protein drinks. I found them to be too high. I order the Unjury from the states and its great, low carb and 20 gm protein. Shipping is $5.00 to Canada. -
Hope all is well. Rest up and take care of yourself. Walk if you can it honestly helps with the gas.

Lila, I am very proud of you. I can barely remember those feelings of small size clothes and twirling in front of the mirror, but I will get there damn it. Congrats again

I cheated a little and had chicken and rice soup yesterday for lunch and a smashed up ground chicken meatball with mango salad for dinner. I chewed really well and I felt like I could eat more so I got up from the table. I have experienced the stuck in the throat feel but no pb thank God. Remember to chew chew chew I'm thinking that I don't have much restriction.

Is anyone going on the 11th of June? That's when mine is.

Soft Serve Frozen Yogurt
Donna D replied to susansilver's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi everyone. Here is my opinion. I enjoyed a Dairy Queen soft ice cream on the weekend and it was delicious. I am just starting mushies today. Please note that not all soft ice cream is the same. Dairy Queen is truly low fat and McDonald's is NOT. Stick with something that you can read the lable on or search its ingredients. I would go for it. We all could use a treat and if its further to get to from your home or work it's probably better. Enjoy. I even ate the cone. Oh God, don't tell anyone. -
I was given the midband by Dr. Yau. The only thing that I am not happy about is where the port is. When I sit my bra (DD's) sits right at the top of it pushing it down. The scar there is the worst of the 4. The one by my belly button is hardly visible.

I tried local health food stores and nothing. My daughter went to Florida 2 weeks ago and she found it in the local grocery store and will bring it back for me. I hear that it is also high in protien which the others are not. It is available on line. There is a Garden Basket in Markham that I will try and let you know.

Thanks Yoda. I did lose about 10 pounds on the pre-op but it looks like I haven't lost more than 3 since my surgery. I sure am glad for that voice of reason because I may have been po'd. Hope Mr. Yoda is doing okay.
-
My best to you too, again. p.s. Aren't these guys great!!!! Don't tell anyone I said so - it would so go straight to their heads.....

Yasmina - not so crazy about the Whey protien isolate mixed in my yoghurt. I don't know what possessed me. It was gross. Ill be using it more conspicuosly in the future. Maybe in a shake when I can add a banana that will mask it. Unjury chocolate is better for sure.

Well this is it. My last pre-band pre-op diet day. Nisrene at TLBC told me to have a juicy steak and some fresh bread today as that seems to be the foods next to impossible to eat post band. I have done my shopping for post-op but am still not sure about the protien powder. Is there one that is better? Is it added to water? Is Benefibre something you bandsters take everyday or only when things get a little ruf or stuck, whichever? My surgery date is April 26th. I would like to make a ticker thing but I don't know how. I know it was posted here somewhere but I can't find it. I know it is ticker.com but how does it get to here? I am technology impaired according to my teenage children so don't give me any grief. You are permitted to laugh with me however. So this is the last supper day. Apparantly, according to all of you, I will not regret this. I keep sucking in my cheeks and telling my kids that they are going to have one hot mamma on their hands soon. Dr. Yau said he will be putting my port in my caeseran scar which in my bikini line .....hah what a joke...someone remind me what a bikini is. I know we apply some very hot wax in close proximity to it. I wonder if jabbing that area with needles will be more painful than where he usually puts it. By the way, where does he usually put it? Hope I'm not yammering too much but I may be freaking out just a tiny bit here. I'm off to try the ticker thing. Wish me luck. Thanks again for all of your support and inspiration. http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/whEDbdw/

Yoda, don't you want to add a few rounds with the Mr. before the op? Not that it's any of our business but geez.......

On full fluids now. Had my first Unjury chocolate shake and it was yummy. I really don't know if I have restriction or not. I am behaving like I do so I will keep portions small. No problem going down. No more pill crushing. I break them in two (only applies to pills that are scored) and swallow one at a time. I am feeling very little chest heaviness today and I continue to do the exercise Nancy told me too. Life is looking good. My pants fell baggy today and my mom said my ass looks smaller. God love her!!!

You guys probably won't see each other at TLBC. You exit from the back way. Whoever is waiting for you will meet the others. When you are ready to go they will either have your friend or whoever come in to get you and go out the back. I did see one lady who had her surgery at 9 am and she was leaving at 12:30 while I was in the waiting room but I don't know who she was. I think you are so groggy after you may not remember.

Don't worry, I won't do the popcorn.

I did the nap thing too. It really did help. Wednesday's the ex comes for family night (better as an ex) dinner with the kids and I said I was having ulcer surgery and couldn't look at them eating so I sat in the family room till they finished. The whole time the buggers would say just loud enough how awful the meal was. Gotta love them....
-
I think you done good! I really don't like lying to family. And I guess if you don't tell your friends then your not really lying right? It will make family times much easier and see how accomodating your sis is being for mom's day. They love you and want you to stick around. We are doing a good thing in every way. My best wishes for tomorrow.

Had my Unjury chocolate shake this morning and it was yummy. I bought Whey Protein Isolate (Huge Jar) for 20.00 at Shoppers drug mart and the ingredients are just like Unjury. It comes in Vanilla and Chocolate. I bought vanilla because I figured I could just add it to my milk with strawberries or banana, kiwi, whatever and it would work. I will have some later and let you know how it is. For price point it's great. It is really is about taste though isn't it.

Really well. I only took one demerol the nite of and nothing else. Lots of gas. You really must try to walk around to get rid of it. Get lots of chewable Gas X and Rolaids plus gas (they're yummy). I have a hard time taking deep breaths but nurse Nancy said thats normal and to take about 5 deep breaths hold for 10 seconds every hour. Should go away in a few days. I'm on full fluids tomorrow and I can hardly wait, actually, I didn't ...had a yoghurt. Good luck on the 4th. I'll be away for about a week no computer access at the cottage so I'll check in on you next week. All the best

You are gonna look hot baby, no doubt about it. With that face, hair, etc. you will do great. We will have to make sure we meet up at TLBC around this time next year. Good luck on May 4th.

Depending on the time of the month (any men here?) it could be salty or chocolate. I do them all!
