How much did they put in Susansilver?
-
Susansilver sorry it took so long to answer you but I forgot my password and kept trying until it knocked me off. I had to go to work so I couldn't get a new password until now. Yes, apparently it can be moved but I believe there is a cost. I don't think I should pay anything as we discussed it twice before surgery. I think he forgot or it was just easier between the boobs. I am really po'd. I will make an appointment to see him and discuss it further. I hope moving doesn't involve much because I lift heavy stuff for work and can't take another 3 weeks off.

Off Topic--Canadian Dollar > US dollar

I agree. Americans have there good and bad as we do. Have you ever gone on their pages of lapband. They are very friendly and very willing to help. They don't care where you come from. I have never been questioned about where I'm from. They have some great pages there too, ie: scar stages and Plastic surgery stuff. -
Sorry to hear that Jurema. Doddie63 who was at our preop seminar is having trouble too because here port is on its side. I had specifically asked to have mine in the bikini area and woke up with it between my boobs. It sticks out and my underwire lands right on it. It is always bruised and I have to take my bra off as soon as I get home.

Who knows. I know every country accepts it and it was just to good an exchange to pass up. -
I was done by Yau at TLBC. I feel that the care was very good but I think they could learn a lesson or two about communications with their out of town patients. I live in Toronto so I can go there anytime but many of his outside patients have trouble getting fills. I think it is fantastic that Dr. C is going to Alberta for whatever reason. He really seems like a great Doc. I don't believe Yau has anything like that in fact it has been said there is a lot of trouble for BC ers to get post op fills.

Good thinking Leslielee. It is very easy to graze all day. Sit down, eat your meal within 15 minutes and walk away. It is important not to drink after your meal as it washes the food down and you will get hungrier faster. I have a hard time breaking that habit because I forget to drink before and I have to wait about 30 to 45 minutes before drinking again. Looks like I still need work.

I just got $1000. US dollars and it only cost me an extra 63 Canadian. I couldn't pass it up. It is for winter holiday travel if I can still afford to go after this band.... -
Hi Doddie I guess you got home alright. I can't believe you couldn't get that fill on Friday. They knew that was why you booked the appt. How does your fill from Thursday feel?

Did YOU Start Solids Early???
Donna D replied to susansilver's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No I didn't. I really wouldn't advise it. Give yourself at least 3 weeks before you even think about braving it, even at that you really better watch it. It is all about healing now. They don't set any limits on your liquids so when you feel hungry reach for some cream soup to fill you or fat and sugar free pudding which was a life saver for me. -
I think you are looking at around $5000. Susansilver there are instances where a tt is covered by ohip. You will need to start complaining about the skin hanging in front of you pubic area if that is going to happen to you...also start telling your dr. that you feel so uncomforatble having sex with your spouse because of the excess skin. You have bad rashes in that area below the skin hanging above the pubes....are you getting my message here guys...this is affecting you mentally and emotionally. Make sure you tell your gp everytime you see them so that there is a record of your complaints this way you have a good chance of getting approval.

Banded yesterday and feel terrible!
Donna D replied to Band-aided's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hang in there jetlagjane. I felt a sharp pain near my belly button for about a week everytime I would get up. It went away. I also felt like I couldn't take a deep breath and when I called the clinic they told me it was normal. All these symptoms disappeared within a week. Take it easy. You have taken a giant leap in the right direction and we are all here for you, moans and all.... -
I had my first fill last Monday the 18th and all of the midbanders were getting 5 cc. Two came back and couldn't even hold a sip of water in their mouth. They had to go back in and get 1 cc taken out. I got scared and asked for only 3 cc. I have tightness in the am but by lunch and dinner I can still eat probably too much. I go back on the 26th and will probably ask for another 1 cc. It didn't hurt and she is pretty quick at doing it.

Leslielee how are things going. I guess you are on all fluids now. I didn't lose any weight during the post part and really only started to see the number go down in the week before my first fill this Monday. Hopefully there will be some action soon.

Did YOU Start Solids Early???
Donna D replied to susansilver's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi Susansilver...the fill went very well, painless in fact. There were 2 ladies ahead of me who both got 5 cc put in. When they got back to the waiting room they couldn't even sip the Water so I asked Nancy to only put 3 ccs. This morning I could only eat half of my eggs but at lunch I ate a swiss chalet chicken and a salad no problem.. dinner was just a small piece of steak and I was full. I think I have some restriction now but it may still be too early to tell. You are lucky that you will meet so many people from this site at your appt. No one at my appt even knew about this website. I hope they will come on. Good luck at your fill and really it is a piece of cake. -
Not feeling so great -what do you think?
Donna D replied to susansilver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Susan, same thing happened to me even with the bread toasted. Horrible feeling isn't it. Crackers don't give me any problem whatsoever. I haven't had rice or pasta yet but people seem to have problems with that too. That's ok, we don't need that stuff anyway. I treat myself with a DQ small cone once a week. -

Wow, that is great what Dr. C does. I would like to see the TLBC do that as well. I am very happy with TLBC but I would like to see those little extras. -
Did YOU Start Solids Early???
Donna D replied to susansilver's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Lferland and the other stick to it guys you should be proud of yourselves. Your weight loss is fantastic for such a short time. I did eat solids early and just for susansilvers poll, I was at my first fill yesterday and all 5 of us there started solids early. Shame on us!!! -
I wouldn't worry about trying to keep the strips on. Let them fall off naturally. Does anyone know why my weight ticker doesn't show up any more?
-
I think I may have to find myself one of them....

Mine is a sort of nickname. As I have a rather large set of knockers and my first and last name start with D, I am affectionately called Donna Double D, I just shortened it.
