Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
Donna D replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Didn't they say that the out-laws were coming to town? May they have run away... -
If you have any doubts whatsoever, call the clinic. That's what you paid all that money for. Good luck. They will warn you about eggs. We think that because they are mushy we don't have to chew so much. NOT!
-
He suggested it to me as well and we spoke of it again before I went in for surgery and I woke up with it elsewhere. I will discuss it with him for sure!

I felt restriction too after my second fill but I noticed that I can eat a little more now as well. I go on the 11th but I think I will just ask for a .5cc fill and see how it goes. I am so afraid of having to get some out in an ER.

Woody, shouldn't we be asking you? You have reached your goal. Congratulations. I am curious.. how do you stop losing weight once you are where you want to be? I don't count calories. I really do think I need to get more protein in a day. I may be lacking there.

Consafo you have the right idea. As I am eating I get this feeling in between my stomach and my throat (I think) a sort of stuck feeling although very very mildly and I take that as my warning that my pouch is full. My head ( much less so now) usually is screaming NO WAY EAT MORE but I know it is a very BAD idea to do so. I have heard it called the soft warning and I think that is what I feel.

Welcome aboard. -
sg sg - How much difference was there in your return with the claiming of the band. If it is too personal to answer you can pm me or don't answer. Either way is ok, just curious. Thanks, D

how did the lap band effect your life
Donna D replied to andreerichards1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know that I feel like a different person when I am thin. I walk different, talk different all of it! I can hang my coat at the front of the restaurant and not wait until I am seated to remove it....sound familiar? There is no way this band can't have a positive outcome. I know this is my last fat summer and that thrills me to no end. I look forward to my winter vacation this year because the beach towel will wrap all the way around me by then. -

Mine is about 2 inches below my boobs and I feel it get hit by my underwire. I wanted a bikini port and Dr. Yau agreed but when I woke up it was between my boobs. I find with my big boobs it gets quite uncomfortable and have to take my bra off when I get home.

I would say wait and see. I felt great after my 2nd fill but I can already feel that it is getting loose after just one week. See how you feel a little later in the month. You could always ask for just .5 cc's if you think you need it. It really is a drag for you out of towners. Don't get more if you feel good just because you are here. You may end up in the ER for a defill.

I was just visiting with my fellow American bandsters and they were talking about this bracelet. Do any of you have one and what are your thoughts.

Wikipedia Entry on Adjustable Gastric Band
Donna D replied to Bejeweled's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks, that is interesting and very positive. -
I only need to have the info of gastric band, no blind NG tube on mine right now which is engraved on the back of the medic alert. I can see Doddie's point though if there is ever a change I would have to get a new alert. The bracelet and alert are detachable and the cost of the new alert part is not expensive. I went to Laura's Hope site and they are so pretty.

Wow, we are all so different. I really like where I am now - 4 ccs in the midband. From what I read though, this full feeling may be short lived. I will go to my 3rd appt and decide at that time if I need a little more. I feel the difference now and I really like it. Good luck Wheezy we are all in the same boat and all here for each other. xo D

When I was at the office there was a lady there that went to the bash and said that an MD who had the surgery said that we should be using a baby spoon to eat. That way we can't put too much on the spoon therefore less choking. That is what I am doing now. This last fill is great. No more need to snack, I feel full longer and I was 2 lbs less this am in the nude. I will try not to weigh again until I go for 3rd fill on July 11th. I may not get the fill but I will go to see the others and have a chat. I heard that Maral is leaving soon. What the hell is happening there!!!!!
-
I'm sure they'll fix you up. Be patient though and don't get so much that you'll be in the OR. I am able to eat today and I am fuller faster than I was with just 3cc. I'll wait and see how well I do when I go for my 3rd appt.

Foood...*sad face* tips for full fluid
Donna D replied to ConSafo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Consafo I would be careful with the tuna. I am 2 months post op and I have trouble with it. Stay away from bread too. I used to smash up some crackers in my soup and let them sit a bit to get soggy. You could have more than the 1/2 cup, I sure did. Better to add mashed potatoes or applesauce, yoghurt etc than havig meat too early. -
glad to hear is msrobby!!

Wheezy are you losing any weight since you got your fill?
-
Susansilver so far so good. I definately feel the restriction. I can't guzzle as much water all at once but today is the first day and I haven't really had much to eat. I think it will be okay.
-
Thanks, I'll check it out. If you go to the US site there is a thread for medic alert bracelets. Apparently there are a lot of different ones that look quite fashionable.

Bejeweled Dr. Doddie just wants you to know that she doesn't think that you are full of sh....t. LOL
