Along the way, we took a scenic drive along the Skyline Drive which winds its way from Virginia down into Tennessee. It winds its way around the Appalachian Mts eventually dumping you onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Blue Ridge Mts. We ran into this beautiful animal along that drive. Well we didn't "run" into it we just were in awe of it's beauty and quietness.

I did. LOL!! You are most welcome!

Do you guys remember her? She was the lead singer for Jefferson Airplane / Jefferson Starship. Think "WHITE RABBIT"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, she is a painter. John and I were invited to a Gallery showing of her artwork. And YES!! I had to buy one of her paintings. It is of a PANDA BEAR. I will post a pic when I get a chance to take one of the painting. She also signed the painting on the back and gave me a signed black paper with silver ink. This was too cool. I had my pic taken with her and they are supposed to be sending me a copy of it in a week. Only time will tell. John bought her painting of Pete Townshend of "THE WHO". He also got a pic and signed black paper as well. This was so exciting for us. She looks fantastic but older of course. She was very personable but reserved. Still a cool thing. It was fun to see John be like a kid waiting outside the back door of a concert for the star. He was so cute. THis was a really nice evening for us. We really connected tonight.

Hamu: Any anti-inflammatory I have come in contact with is bad on the stomach. I personally would try alternatives to the drug for the relief of the swelling. If you are really worried then call you band surgeon and get his recommendations on taking the drug. He might be able to prescribe something different to take.

I just love this isn't it cute??? This is why I love cats. LOL!!! How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb? 1. Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb? 2. Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code. 3. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp! 4. Rottweiler: Make me. 5. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark. 6. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please! 7. German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation. 8. Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture. 9. Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb! 10. Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark. 11. Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Or "We don't need no stinking light bulb." 12. Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares? 13. Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle... 14. Bichon Frise: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry. How many cats does it take to change a light bulb? Cats do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is: "How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?" ALL OF WHICH PROVES, ONCE AGAIN, THAT WHILE DOGS HAVE MASTERS, CATS HAVE STAFF!

Reflux - GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease
Penni60 replied to New Hope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too was told by my original surgeon this was normal and it would resolve itself when I lost more weight. I did not believe this (due to my nursing background) and sought a second opinion. I am thankful that I did. Please talk to another doctor. You might have slipped the band, there could be other reasons you are having all these GERD issues that are unrelated to the band. I am very very concerned about your health at this point. What you are experiencing is NOT healthy and needs immediate attention. -
I would have eaten them myself. LOL!!

I drink Green Tea alot but haven't experienced any of it's weight loss qualities cause I still eat bad things. LOL!! I do love Green Tea though.

Reflux - GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease
Penni60 replied to New Hope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Christine: I am so sorry you are having all these issues. I am concerned about all the GERD you are having. If this has been going on since April then you could have major complications brewing in your stomach. I HIGHLY suggest you call your surgeons office and ask to be seen. If you are too tight then a slight unfill is warranted. If you were not banded the amount of GERD you are experiencing is not normal and needs to be treated. I respect the fact that you are still happy with your doc. I will not go into any of the negativity on him. Please do consider calling his offices again and asking to be seen or refer you to someone that will see you PRONTO. -
OK here I am 238 this morning. Goal of 228 by the end of 10 weeks so that is 10 lbs. Here are my pics. I did a side shot as well. I wanna track the loss of my arms as well. I hate them. But it doesn't stop me from showing them. Oh and it was too chilly to get in bathing suit this weekend. That will come later. LOL!!

I was a cancer nurse for 8 years and dealt with several patients that had "Living Wills / Advanced Directives". Just as an FYI, the Living Wills are not legally binding to the medical profession. It is looked on as a "suggestion" of what the person wishes in the event they cannot make those decisions themselves. I have seen several patients with Living Wills in place only to have a doctor talk the family into going against the wishes of the person. So make sure you have someone over your Living Will that is very vocal and will advocate for you.
