Paula I am so thankful that you and your family are safe now. I, along with everyone here on LBT, was so concerned about you and your family. Glad you are back. Pics are welcome anytime. Just a side note, Please do pray for the safety of our Florida LBTers in the path of Wilma. My daughter is in her path and I have tried to convince her to fly out here but she is insistent on staying for now to be with her hubby who works for Florida Power and Water. He can't leave.

    Creepy Halloween Fun Thread

Here goes! Cremation: I better not be buried in some beautifully expensive casket and then put in a concrete cript in the ground. Spread my ashes to the four corners. Better yet, I want my ashes shot up in the sky in a fireworks display. Music: I want "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce played at my funeral. Then I want all 80's music. Big ole party atmosphere. Location of funeral: Cruise ship. Take my ashes out to sea light that fireworks and sit back and watch me light up the world. WHOO HOO!! Libation: LOTS OF IT!!! Hell you are on a cruise ship so enjoy the dang thing. Entertainment: EVERYONE must dance a Reggae Dance to Celebrate my favorite vacation spot. Party favors: Those cute little umbrellas you get in drinks that will say, "Keep this handy cause shit will eventually rain on your parade. SMILE!!" The celebration will last for days. Years even. LOL!!!

    Help! Major Pain

OH Please tell me that you have called your doctor by now? Did you get a fill when the band was placed? If so then it might be time for a unfill. If you didn't then you need to get to the ER and get some fluids in you pronto. The swelling can be temporary and should go down but in the meantime you need to be hydrated. Have you tried sucking on ice cubes. I know when I was first banded I could only take in three small cubes at a time. I did that every 15 min or so just to keep some fluids in me. Don't try to overdo it, that will only agitate the inflammation more. I think you should really head to the ER or at least call your Doc to let him know what is going on. I was an RN for 8 years. Keep us posted. We all worry when one of ours is not feeling well. Lisa, soaking in a tub or breathing in steam will not give the amount of hydration needed in an emergent situation. It will only hydrate the skin and the lining of the respiratory tract at such minut levels that it isn't helpful but to have your skin look fresh and flush out your nose. LOL!!! IV hydration is the key when you are dehydrated and have serious symptoms. Nothing to fudge around with people.

    New York Girls

OK arrived here yesterday. Christina was at the hotel waiting on me. LONG plane trip but what fun. We went looking for beads later that evening and walked and walked and walked. LOADS of fun. Went back to hotel and collapsed. Today, Friday we got on the subway and headed to CHINATOWN. FUN!!!!!!!!!! Too much fun. As we exited the subway station, Christina got POOPED on her head by a NY Pigeon. TOO FUNNY!!!!!! I laughed so hard. So we had to head to Quizno's to the bathroom. ONLY we had to buy something before they would give us the key to the bathroom. SIGH!! So we bought two bottles of Water. LOLOL!!! Anyway, got the bird poopy out and then proceeded to stop at "Bread Tribeca" (SEE PIC) and had lunch. Michelle notice the shirt I am wearing. LOL!! Great place! Close to 6th and Avenue of America. Then we made our way back to Canal St and walked up and down looking at purses, pashminas, beads, crystals, etc. We were asked constantly (under their breath) "wanna buy gucci, rolex,". Too funny. Christina is such a bargain person I got a cute bag for $15 (pic to come later) and she got one after walking up and down Canal St for $22. (Pic to come later.) Took the subway back to the hotel and now heading out to B. B. King's Lucille Bar and Grill across the street from our hotel. Wanna join us? I am sure there will be pics to come. LOL!!

I dont know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!

OK guys I agree with Alexandra here. Nykee originally posted for help, now that LBT members have offered that help she is electing to either follow some or none of the suggestions. That is the risk when you offer advice. It is NEVER guaranteed that it will be followed. It is also respectful to NOT be harsh to the person if they don't take your advice. Everyone has their own demons to fight in this weight loss battle. There could be some issues with Nykee that we aren't aware of that could be adding to her struggles. So it isn't as simple an issue for her to get an unfill as suggested. Her doctor as listed in her signature is Dr. Ortiz which means a trip to TJ for that unfill. She has mentioned that her funds are limited on more than one occasion. She has health issues unrelated to her LapBand as well that can interfere with her weight loss process. Exercise and moving and stretching can help with some of those issues but again that is Nykee's call not ours. Everyone stating they will just not respond to her posts anymore is not the support we all come here for. She needs someone to talk to. She has needs that are not being met she came here to vent essentially. She was only asking for support. Some offered advice and that was picked over and some of it used and some not. I don't think anyone actually HEARD Nykee's plea. She is scared of staying large. We all have that fear. Yes, she needs to work through that fear herself we can't do that for her. I recently vented my own frustrations. I received lots of support and I appreciate that. Nykee essentially did the same thing. What was the difference? If Nykee wants this thread closed then the moderators can close it. I feel it would be a disservice to all concerned to do that. Compassion and understanding are a wonderful thing. We all have it.

    Who Wants Some Chips?

Yeah I ran into the same issue when I tried to get it to show in the signature line as well. I even tried the Ticker Factory codes and they don't work either. HMMM!!! Gotta do some more thinking on this one. Any other computer guru's out there with some ideas? Might just email Alex and see if he can upload these three chip files into the database for the images files. SIGH!!

    help help help

THis is so common Brunswick. I am 18 months out and fall off the wagon every now and then. It lasts for a day or two or sometimes more. Then I come here and vent like you just did and get support like you will and pull myself up and start all over again. This is a lifestyle change. You have to work it. It sucks at times. It is hard as hell and you just want it to be over with soon. But the key is, we fight this every second of every minute of every hour of every day. And will continue to fight this for the rest of our lives. How you chose to accept that and deal with it is your mission on this journey. Yeah that sucks too. LOL!!! Thank GOD that we have this wonderful tool to help us along the way. Without this tool lots of us might not be here today to talk about PB'ing, slippage, fills, etc. Know that you are not alone on this journey. We are all here for you and some of us are travelling on the same bumpy ride right beside you. We can pick each other up and brush each other off and start again. Hope this helps! PS: One slice of pizza and a salad. Think of what you would have had before being banded.

    Who Wants Some Chips?

Yeah I am pissed. Gotta get serious about this. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! LOL!! For those of you that know me I LOVE LOVE LOVE Starbucks. That is my candy. I usually get a VENTI Caffee MOCHA EVERY day. Which is around 450 Calories. That is enough calories for a damn meal people. So cut that out for now and see how it goes. Damn Lisa you take all the fun out of giving up something. Shoot now I have to give up Sodas as well. That won't be that hard though cause I only drink one every two weeks. But still. I will switch to Earl Grey Decaf Tea for my fix. With Equal I might add. LOL!! And yeah some good ole water helps too. UGH!! Getting healthier shouldn't be this hard should it? OK Day 1 off Sodas Day 2 off Starbucks COOL A DUEL CHIPPY for me. LOL!!! PS: I looked at trying to put the chips in our signature but haven't worked out the bugs yet. Still working on it. If anyone has a suggestion then please chime in.
