And the Fall Challenge Winner Is...

I am not Kelly but here ya go.
  2. I just have to say that there was absolutely NO warning for her. It was not mentioned at all that one was on the way. Here is an email I just received from her. She called me yesterday on her drive home after the tornado hit. She was so upset and crying. By the time I got off the phone with her she was laughing so I am thankful for that. Here is her email reprinted with her permission. Well to say I was scared would be a understatement. I was so worried my kids would die and it would be my fault. I just wanted to get home. I started home at 4pm yesterday ignoring my inner voice that told me to leave at 3pm. I ended up in the middle of the tornado's path. Thats what in the paper this morning. As I exited the interstate large hail pounded my car. I knew I had 3 miles to daycare. Danny had been calling me updating on the storm he called and said its over Sango! You all know thats my neighborhood. I started to shake. It was dark no power anywhere the rain and wind were so intense. I made it to daycares driveway then Danny called again he said "Alicia run, run get inside anywhere just get inside." I hung up got out of the car the kids were yelling out the daycare window for me to get inside. I ran around back and went inside to find Eli screaming for mommy. I grabbed him and collapsed to the floor. I could not move for several minutes. Danny had called the house and told the kids to go to our neighbors house so I knew they were safe. Thank God for Danny! I waited till 5:20pm then I started my drive home with Eli. I prayed for a safe drive home. I was not prepared for the destruction and what I could not see. There were road signs in the street and Power lines down everywhere. Emergency workers had the raods blocked. It was a scary drive home in driving rain and blackness. No power anywhere. I got home and we were in the dark but safe. This morning as I made my drive to work I saw the destruction. My neighbors lost 2 large light poles that are at the end of their drive way. The new house on Bryan lost 8 trees. On the corner of Fawn and East old Ashland city road a house was destroyed! 5 houses seperate us from that home. Several homes were damaged on East old Asland City Road. The shell gas station on the corner of Madison and Old Farmers road Lost the sign, The car cover, The barn across the street blew sheet metal off into that gas station. So many other things happened I cant describe. i just feel so blessed. I dont know how I made it home without getting hit. A 15 year old girl was in her trailer alone when the tornado picked it up and rolled down the hill. She survived without a scratch. No deaths from this tornado. I still dont have cable yet so I have not seen the news reports. Dont need to when its in your back-yard. I am very upset and Thankful for the outcome. This storm shook me up pretty bad. I love you all! Alicia
  3. Latest update from my daughter: Well it was confirmed 3 tornados touched down. 2 were 15 miles away from us the other was in Sango. F2 in Sango. 80 homes have damage. 30 are destroyed! They really cleaned up yesterday. The shell station had all the metal cleaned up, but the car wash is still torn up. Eli asked my if the lights were on at home when I picked him up at daycare. i laughed and said yes. I am ok i am tired restless and still cramping. I am so big and still have 2 full months. I will be 30 weeks tuesday. if you want to check out storm info go to newschannel5.com or WSMV.com Also clarksville leaf chronicle is online thats our local paper. Alicia

    New Business Idea

Starting a biz is always some work. Estela ask yourself what you can do well that brings you joy. If you are going to start your own biz then you have to enjoy doing it right? I went through the same thing recently. I am in the middle of getting my new biz up and running. It takes time and patience. And research as well. Make a list of your talents. What have people said that you do really well? At least it is a place to start.
  7. My darling sweetie has these friends he has known all his life that happen to be doing some business out here in Calif and we got together with them tonight and took them to dinner. I'll call them G1 and G2. Sounds harmless enough right? OH NO!!!!! Here is where it can get "icky" for the faint of stomach. Again I warn you if you have a sensitive constitution then STOP reading NOW! I am not kidding here. OK you were warned! There is this restaurant John and I frequent called "Claim Jumpers". It is a chain in Calif that serves LARGE portions of EVERYTHING. Now all I can eat are the salads and the soups. LOL!! But I digress! So we take John's life long friends to dinner at this restaurant. Wait I am leaving out some important back story here. These friends are two brothers that look like twins and are 54 and 56 years old. They travel EVERYWHERE with their 87 yr old mother, who looks younger than her sons. I wanna look like her at 87. They have never been married and never had girlfriends. Honestly they look like they could be child molesters. Ya know? Just really creepy looking. They are out here attending a really really expensive Film Market Conference cause they are gonna be film moguls. Yes I said they believe they will make it big in the film industry after attending this conference. Can we say delusional? Anyway, they come out to the house tonight to visit and we take them to dinner. OK we are at the restaurant, the waitress comes, she takes our drink order and our appetizer order. Everything is OK up to this point. She returns with our drinks and proceeds to take our dinner order. One of the brothers, G1, starts telling the waitress what he wants and then proceeds to change his mind in mid sentence. 5 TIMES!!!!!!!! Then G2 orders. Says, "I'll have what my brother just ordered, only make mine different." I swear he said that. Finally they get their order right. Their mom and I order something really simple. So does John. Here is where you can stop reading if you have that weak stomach. G1 begins eating the appetizer (mozzerella sticks) by dipping not one not two but three sticks in the sauce and then dripping it on the table and then sucking it off the sticks. Then he dips the sticks in the sauce again (double dipping). Normally I don't mind that but this was just sickening. I did NOT eat any of the appetizer after I saw that. After the sticks are all gone he takes the bowl of sauce and licks it. I swear he did this. Then he proceeds to let out this HUGE burp. And and scratches his belly then scratches his head. EWWWWW!!!!! Our meals come. I am getting nauseated all over again. He orders Prime Rib with a baked potato. He is about 4 inches away from his plate and proceeds to attach his steak like it was a fresh kill. He dips and slathers and chews and grabs and burps and scratches and chews and chews and spits. I wanted to leave the table but was so facinated by the carnage. He picks up the left over pieces of steak and proceeds to gnaw at the meat left on the fatty portions with his fingers. I swear it was liking a lion eating a fresh kill. G2's table manners were more refined. At least he took his time and didn't act like he was scared someone was gonna steal his food like G1 acted. The waitress game and was taking away everyones plates. G1 looked at his brothers plate and said I will eat his leftovers don't take his plate. I swear he said it and did it. G1 liked everything clean. It was like watching a dog lick a plate clean. Swear!! I was afraid to put my fingers anywhere near him. He would have thought they were something to eat or lick. EWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! Then on the way home, G1 burps really LOUD in the car and the smell nearly made me vomit. NOT PB but vomit. They are gone now. Thank goodness. Thanks for reading. I told you to stop reading this is you had a weak constitution. I warned you. LOL!!

    Flipped Port

Yes it is an outpatient surgery. Well mine was anyway. I was actually up and around that evening. The revision surgery was easier to recuperate from that the initial band surgery.

Way OT: I just have to vent here

I was discussing this last night with John and he said he noticed some of what had happened and was oblivious to most of it. He was trying to do all the talking so they wouldn't. I laughed and said I would have preferred for them to talk and that way their mouths would have been too busy to eat. LOL!!! THey attacked the food like it was their last meal. I was shocked. I had never seen people eat this way. John had warned me about their eating habits but I thought it can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong. G1 licked the little dish that held his cheese sauce. He licked his little container that held the sauce for his prime rib. EWWWWWWWWW!!! Just so gross. I could barely finish my salad. Well I couldn't even if they weren't there, cause Claim Jumpers serves such huge portions but that is beside the point. LOL!! Mom hasn't had any face lifts. They can't afford them. Hence the reason we took them to eat. They are so delusional in their lives. They have had all kinds of big ideas to 'make it big' in this world. They bought a small airstrip and one plane in CT cause they were gonna be commercial pilots and start their flagship company with this one airstrip and one airplane. LOLOLOLOL!!!!! There have been other ventures like this. None have panned out of course. Now they fancy themselves screenwriters. I have read one of their scripts. It is just horrible. The latest venture now is they are going home to CT on Tuesday and are in the process of buying a mom and pop video store. They think this will help them in the screenwriter company. HOW I don't know??!! It is all pretty sad actually. Mom is a pretty lady. She was a professional dancer with a vaudeville act in the 20's and 30's. I noticed last night that her glasses were broken and held together with tape on each ear piece. That was so sad that they can't afford to get her new glasses but they can afford to spend frivilous money on this conference they just attended. Their minds don't work right. LOL!!! Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

    Flipped Port

I never felt mine flip or tilt. I know Donali on here said she felt it when hers flipped. I know you can feel a burning sensation and slight pain when you PULL a stitch but don't tear it away. Remember the port is stitched to the muscle so when you pull it then it can tear away or it can just burn a little from a slight pulling. When I refer to pulling I mean like you over twist your side, do LOTS of sit ups, pick up something heavy then twist and strain the area. All of these are to the EXTREME and not from every day activities. If you do more than 100 sit ups, or you are over reaching into the back seat (donali), or you pick up a 50 pound bag of dog food then twist. Hope this helps.

    Flipped Port

Yup mine flipped too and I had to have it repaired as well. No issues after that.

    Funny bump

Jane does your funny bump look anything like this picture? If so then go to your surgeon and discuss this issue. My port had tilted and the bump you see is tubing trying to find an exit. Thank goodness my US surgeon knew the problem and corrected it with a port revision. If the tubing pokes through then that is a whole other set of concerns and issues.

Thank You For Your Support Paula

As a moderator, I closed the other thread because it was not appropriate to post emails as you were doing. Alexandra one of the other moderators even mentioned this on one of the many threads that was started regarding this issue. I am dying over hear. Too funny. Love all the names.
  21. When you open the email I sent you there should be something that says to download the attachment. So click on that and download the two pics. Take note where you download the pictures. I usually save it to my desktop that way I can find it easily then I go back and put it in another folder. After you save it to your computer then you can upload it to LBT. If this still doesn't work then let me know.
  22. Did you save the pic I sent you in the email to your computer? If so that is the pic you need to find. If you still have problems finding it then let me know.

    One Year Today

Estela: That is right about the CD. Heck you can even have them emailed to your email account I think. You can also elect to get both hard copies and have them put on CD. Whichever is easier for you to deal with. Send them to me and I can scan them and post for you. Either way. Just PM me and I will send you my address.
