Looking for General Doctor near Santa Clarita, CA who will Support me with Documents
Penni60 replied to Cindy Krebs's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
My doctor was really cool about the band when I told him I was getting it done. He seemed really interested in the nuances of it. His office is about three blocks from my house. So if you decide to use him then let me know when you have an appt and if I am not out of town then I would love to take you to lunch or something. His name is Balbir Singh, MD (pronounced SING)-He is an internist and deals mainly with high blood pressure patients. I go to see him for everything though. He is wonderful and the staff is sweet. His office is located at 14624 Sherman Way Suite # 309 Van Nuys, CA 91405 His phone number is 818-988-2190 His office nurse is Clara If she is not there talk to Carmen -

Not sure about this but can't dr. Billy document the 6 month supervision of weight loss and use him as PCP? Am I mistaken in that? If you can't then I have a great person I see but he is in the Van Nuys (which is where I live by the way.) LOL!! He is my PCP and who I was seeing pre band when my blood pressure elevated. I still see him and he is great. -

breath I must remember to breath. Thanks for the reminder. I have 4 children. Three daughters and one son. My son is the youngest and he is 18 and graduates this year from High School. I got all emotional last night and was talking with John and said. "All my baby girls are having babies." THen I just busted out crying. Then I laughed at myself for being so emotional. My daughter that is due any minute called and instead of saying HI she said "So do you feel really old now?" I just love the relationship I have with all my kids. I just wished we lived closer to each other.

OK here is the run down. No wonder I am so tired and my back is out. WHEW!! First, my mother is having surgery on the 30th to remove a diseased portion of her colon due to diverticulitis. Second, I am going to Tucson on the 31st for a Gem and Bead show for my Jewelry Biz. Third, I have a daughter that is delivering her second child and my 7th grandchild on the 24th Fourth, I just found out that my youngest daughter, who got married June of 04, is pregnant and most likely due in Sept. SO I have lots going on in just the FIRST month of 2006. :omg: Plus I am dealing with the loss of the band and changing my eating habits. SIGH!! Calgon take me to the Islands and give me a chocolate bath. NOW!!

Calories = 1350 Protein = 68 G Water = 80 ounces and still counting. Exercise = Sciatica still acting up, but is getting better.

Lisa my food is measured for the entree's and I have to supplement each meal with veggies and fruits and low carbs. So if I just eat the entree's then I would not be anywhere near the Protein mark. I think you are hitting the mark you just don't realize it. B: 4 oz cottage chz -- that is a 1/2 cup so 13 g Protein L: 4 oz chicken or fish -- 1 oz of chicken breast cooked is 8 g Protein 1 oz of flounder has 6 g of Protein veggies --- depending on the veggies some have trace protein in them tblspn olive oil D: 4 oz chicken or fish -- see above steamed veggies tblspn olive oil 1 cup pudding made w/ 1% milk

The only thing I am sure about in this battle of the bulge, bulger, bulgest is that you gotta do portion control, count calories, and get your water in every day. That is working for me right now. If I tried to only count Fat or only count Carbs then I would be lost. I am having a hard enough time to make sure I get in my 60 to 70 g of Protein a day. Again we are all different and what works for some doesn't for others. Nutrisystem seems to be my niche for now. The funny thing is I tried it years ago and just rebelled big time. So now I am facing it with full force and so far so good. I personally think Adkins is not a healthy diet regimen. I like eating raw veggies and hearing them crunch in my mouth cause I pretend they are salty chips and the low fat ranch dressing I dip them in is cheese dip. Mind games. Gotta play them. IT is working for me. Too much of any one type of food will deplete necessary enzymes in our system. It just doesn't make sense to not eat a balanced meal to me. I tried to follow Adkins just before I was banded and I just couldn't get my head wrapped around it. Just didn't seem right to me. Do what works for you!! THat is my new motto.

Lisa I hear ya. I am doing Nutrisystem and man let me tell you, the calorie counting is crucial. I am averaging between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. On the low end days I treat myself to one of their yummy Desserts. On the high end days I don't have one. I have been counting everything that goes into my body down to the butter I put on my whole wheat bread. But it is working. I have lost 3 pounds since being on this diet. Dr. Billy would be so proud of us HUH? LOL!!! I eat three meals, and one snack between lunch and dinner a day. I am eating tons of fruit and veggies. I manage to get in at least 60 to 80 g of Protein a day. It is important to count Protein as well. Lisa when you get in that sexy outfit I want a pic. LOL!! I would do the lapband all over again but wouldn't do it in Mexico.

PacifiCare paid for part of my Erosion surgery
Penni60 replied to Penni60's topic in Insurance & Financing
Amy I am hearing since United Healthcare bought out Pacificare that the chances of the band being covered are better now. I am waiting the 6 months and will most likely persue the thought of getting Pacificare to cover it. AT least I am gonna try if I still feel that way in 6 months. Right now I don't want any more surgeries for a long long time. LOL!! -

I wanna play. LOL!! I have added my Calorie and Protein Intake cause I think that is important to see what you are taking in. Did anyone know 1 Bartlett Pear has 98 calories and 1 g of Protein? Fascinating!! LOL B- Nutrisystem Cereal w/ strawberries and 1/4 cup Whole Milk, cup of tea, 1/2 slice of bread w/ grape jelly = 310 Calories and 8 g Protein L- Nutrisystem chicken salad w/ melba toast, 20 baby carrots w/ lite ranch dressing, 1 med apple, 1 slice of American cheese = 385 Calories and 13 g Protein S- 1 med Anjou Pear (YUM) and 1 slice of American cheese = 198 Calories and 19 g Protein D- Water: YUP got in 64 oz so far Exercise: None today due to Back issues Personal: No eating past 7 pm Calorie: Protein: Dr. Billy and Dennis would be so proud of me. They kept trying to get me to count calories but I rebelled every step of the way. Now it is like second nature to count calories. It really makes a difference people. -
how much have you paid SINCE banding?
Penni60 replied to shellyj.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
$15,500 = Initial surgery plus travel to Mexico $500 = Extra trip to Mexico for a wasted trip to check out port $300 = Dr. Billy consult and two fills $3000 + = Port Revision surgery with Dr. Billy (insurance covered most of this) $?? = cost of endoscopy with Port Revision surgery $?? = cost of endoscopy with diagnosis of Erosion $28,000 = cost of band removal with Dr. Billy (insurance covered most of this) $????? clothes so I agree with LaMadam I would do it again if I had the chance just not in Mexico. Only Dr. Billy for me and only if the Insurance will cover it.
