Hey there: I am scrambling to get everything done before my flight in the morning. So much to do and so little time. I most likely won't check in till late tomorrow if then. At least I got upgraded to a First Class seat so I can fly in comfort. I got in my Zetacaps yesterday and tried them for supper last night. THEY WORKED FOR ME. I only ate half my supper. It was almost like I was banded. I got the full feeling without the pain like with a PB. HOORAY!! I tried them for lunch today and again that same full feeling. HOORAY!!! Supper is my biggie. So I might just limit them to that meal. I will keep you posted. Travel day tomorrow and then drive the next day to East TN which will be a 5 hour drive. SIGH!! I need to go get me an Audio book. Today's plan accomplishment: I will follow my Nutrisystem meal plans. (OK, back to the plan well for breakfast and lunch anyway, Just can't seem to get supper on plan. :help: Still working on that and will till I reach this goal. ) I will exercise for a minimum of 20 min a day 4 days a week. (nope none today) I will lose at least 1 lb a week. (Won't know till I weigh agian. Keep me in your prayers.) I will drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. (Getting in the water is starting to get more easy. SIGH!!) Positive reinforcement mantras: I will continue to eat healthy and hope to lose weight. I will continue to exercise and hope to lose weight. I will continue to be proud of myself with all the accomplishments to date.

My first visit the 18th what to expect.
Penni60 replied to willybe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey there: Here is a suggested thread to print off some questions to take with you. Ask as many as you feel comfortable asking at this visit. There are some that might not apply to you. You know the one's about pregnancy. LOL!!! Got to Lap Band Support Forum then look for the thread "LAPBAND questions to ask!!!" -
OK I had a weird experience last night. I of course did not follow the nutrisystem meals for supper. What a concept? Anyway, as I wolfed down the 6 inch Subway and my small bag of Fritos, I burped or hiccuped or something and had a small PB. I was shocked. I have had this sensation before but just attributed it to my mind playing tricks with me. I obviously had had way too much to eat. Who would have thunk that a subway sandwich would be too much, I mean really? LOL!!! Anyway, I had this revelation that maybe I can use this to my advantage. The good thing is I had the PB without the pain. The BAD thing is I had the PB without the pain. So no warning whatsoever it was gonna happen. It just happened. SIGH!! The really sad thing is I was still in head hunger after eating the sandwich and fritos. I was looking for something else to shove down my gullet. I am so frustrated and fighting this war with my head. I gotta get a handle on it and soon or I will be back to 296 or higher in about a month. No joke people!!! Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. HUGS to you all.

HUGE Headache: Need more than Tylenol
Penni60 replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I get Migraines and Excedrin for Migraines worked great for me. 30 min and the headache is gone. I had no problems swallowing then either. I just took them one at a time and went down fine. -
If we can all come up with some mantra or something that works for us all to silence the head demon then we would make a mint. LOL!! That is what is killing me right now. If I could just smack him down when he calls out then I could win this war on the weight loss. I am finding that the more I keep my mind occupied then he is pretty quiet. The minute I am still and not doing anything that is when his voice sounds like a GONG. The head demon says, "FIND SOMETHING TO EAT!! YOU KNOW YOU ARE HUNGRY!! GO RAVAGE THE KITCHEN AND EAT ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. YOU KNOW I WON'T TELL AND NO ONE WILL KNOW. NO ONE IS IN THE HOUSE RIGHT NOW SO GO GRAB THAT BOTTLE OF HERSHEY SYRUP AND DRINK HALF OF IT. GO AHEAD GO PENNI GO YOU CAN DO IT. " See those are the things I hear in my head. It is like a cheering section in my own little world.

LOL Nope I take HUGE bites and never chew till it is liquid anymore. That is one of my problems. I need to do that more. I had a weird incident last night. I had just eaten my 6 inch sub and a small bag of fritos (yes I know it was bad) and I hiccuped. I brought some of the food back up. Almost like a PB but without the pain. I was shocked. That told me that I ate way too much but I was still in the head hunger. I was looking around for something else to eat after I ate the sandwich and fritos. So, in the past I have kept an emotion/food journal. I think I will start another one. This works by writing down your emotion prior to putting something in your mouth. Then write down your emotion after you eat. Compare the two and see if you can connect them in someway to how you are actually feeling about the food. I did alot of self analysis that way and had conquered some of my head demons. Amazing I had forgotten about it till now. The pseudo-PB episode reminded me of that rather fast. LOL!! Today's plan accomplishment: I will follow my Nutrisystem meal plans. (OK, back to the plan well for breakfast and lunch anyway, Just can't seem to get supper on plan. :help: Still working on that and will till I reach this goal.) I have felt my grandma on several occasions guiding me in my decisions and actions. So I firmly believe she is my guardian angel. I get what you are saying about finding her. I need to look inside myself to find her.

I leave town on Friday morning for 10 days. I am heading to East TN (Elizabethton and Johnson City) to visit my two beautiful granddaughters. Then I am off to Atlanta on the 19th to attend a Holistic Conference. I will be home on the 24th. I will check in again on that day. If I can find a scale then I will check in sooner but can't guarantee how accurate the scale will be. I will have my laptop but might not post as much. Never can tell with me when I travel.

[quote name=vinesqueen I've been thinking about this line all day. I've decided that maybe you don't need to get past this. Maybe you do need to "find" her. I think that any time someone touches us deeply, they leave part of themselves with us. I think that it is the same with art, artists leave part of themselves in the art. And people who love us, do the same.[/quote] Ok wise woman how do I "FIND" her.

I had my band for 18 months then eroded. Acutally we are not exactly sure when I eroded but at 18 months I had an Endoscopy and it was discovered. Yes I have started to gain back some of the weight I lost. THat sucks.

I had an infected port and had ZERO pain. I just wanted you to be sure it wasn't a deep infection and not superficial. If you are sure and your mind is at ease then who am I to say otherwise. Keep us posted.
-
Yes it is normal for this to happen. IN fact if they can't do it then I highly recommend they be IN the room when it is done. They are for the most part the only ones that know what erosion actually looks like.

Crystal I just love you. LOL!! And yes she was a very special lady. Since my mother worked alot and was a single mother as well, my grandmother was my caregiver. She taught me morals and values and respect and all the things you learn growing up. She taught me how to take care of others. She was a driving force behind me becoming a RN later in life. I am a grandma now and I just wish I was closer to my grandkids so I could teach them all the things she taught me. I once heard a saying from someone that said, "Everyone needs a wise older woman in their life." I don't have one of those now. Both my grandmothers are gone. So I gotta find a wise older woman to share my life with. Thanks guys for listening. It is keeping me from eating the house. LOL!!

Sue, I know what poster you are referring to and I have posted on several threads that those actions are not allowed on this forum in any way shape or form. We have had this issue in the past and it has been stopped rather fast. It will rear it's ugly head every now and then with new members showing up almost hourly now. So it will be an ongoing issue we moderators will have ot address. It is members like yourself bringing it to our attention and then we moderators can address the issue.

OK I might get blasted for this but come on people. If you have an infection then the port HAS to come out and the wound needs to heal before a new port can be replaced. If you have any infection brewing it has the potential to lead to erosion. I SHOULD KNOW!! LISA (DELARLA) SHOULD KNOW!! Please don't take it lying down. DON'T wait almost a month to get something done. My surgeon had me in surgery within a week of finding out my issues. He had me in surgery to remove the band within HOURS of finding out my erosion. Any infection need to be treated pronto. Any port infection needs to have the port removed (most likely that is the source of the infection) and have the surrounding tissue healed prior to any further surgery. Yes that most likely means an open wound that you will need to pack but that is the only way it will heal. Sepsis can set in fast and there are new critters mutating every day that become immune to all our great antibiotics. So don't treat an infection lightly. If you are not getting answers from your doc that you like ask him to explain why he is waiting. Why isn't taking the port or band out and letting your area heal first before putting a new port or band back into an infected area worth exploring? What are the chances that this port or band would become infected too? What are the chances this might lead to an erosion? Get him to explain his answer in detail. If not then why not? Please be informed. I don't want any of you to lose your bands or ports. PLEASE ask the hard questions.

Thanks Sue for starting this thread. Vines you are so insightful it is scary. LOL!! When I was banded I was like a kid again. I had all these new places I could visit. My life had a new meaning. It was endless and I woke up every day wondering what adventures lie ahead for me. After the band loss, I didnt' know what to expect. I was lost. I didn't know what to do. So I ate. I ate I ate I ate. Which was my old mantra preband. When I am nervous I eat. When I am happy I eat. When I am upset I eat. When I am bored I eat. When I go into my kitchen and am just looking for something I don't know what I am trying to find something to eat. But if I really analyze this and think about it I will see that what I am looking for is my grandmother. She was my comfort and support and helped me make my life interesting. So I have to find my own way now. She has been gone for over 10 years now. So why can't I just get past this need to "FIND" her? SIGH!! I eat to find my grandmother. Now that is one for the books. LOL!!!

Not doing any shopping cause I am leaving on Friday. I am taking an apple ot eat on the plane and bringing my water so if I am in the window seat I feel sorry for the other two people. Hey might just switch my seat to an aisle. That will work. I ate Nutrisystem meals all day till supper. That is my worst time to stay on track. I don't know something just goes haywire and shorts out at supper. I can't seem to grasp that I need to eat Nutrisystem meals instead of chinese, or pizza or subway or whatever. LOL!! Just doesn't compute. I need a new hard drive. LOL!! Mine just burned out. LOL!!!! I wanna program it for only healthy foods and exercise. My cold is finally subsiding. I have coughing fits right at bedtime then none for most of the day. My nose is finally clear. So I can breath now. Watch I am gonna fly on Friday. I will have a relapse from all that stale air. SIGH!! That would just be my luck. LOL!!!
