I do agree that the right antibiotic given for the right infection is sometimes the correct protocol but in this instance she should have been started on antibiotics because of a suspected infection. The doctor didn't even do cultures if I understood her right. My doctor didn't suspect infection but he still did swabs and treated me for a suspected infection to prevent a bounce back which insurance companies try to avoid as well. I am only going on what I have experienced first hand as a patient and as a nurse.

I addressed alot of this on your bandiversary thread, but yes you should switch doctors. It is common knowledge that if an infection is even remotely suspected then antibiotics is the treatment. I was on IV antibiotics when I had my band removed for two days just to make sure we killed anything that was in there. It is just good medical practice to treat a suspected infection this way. And for your doctor and the staff in his office to tell you that you "don't need them" is malpractice in my opinion. I am just appalled at their handling of your care. It doesn't take long for Sepsis (raging infection throughout the body) to set in. Come to Calif and I will get you an appt with Billy. I will take you to see him and give you a room to sleep in. SERIOUSLY!!

Aww Trish darlin my heart goes out to you. PLEASE change band docs. You actually have a case for malpractice there ya know. Even a non medical person knows that you should be put on a round of antibiotics if an infection is EVEN remotely suspected. My invitation still stands to have you come and get an appt with Billy. I am really concerned about your health much less the band at this point. It doesn't take long for sepsis to set in. Not sure where you live but I go see Dr Helmuth Billy in Ventura, CA. It is only an hour from Van Nuys (where I live). He is great. He takes anyone. And he is compassionate and works with you not against you. His staff is wonderful as well. If you want his info just let me know.

When I do wear a bra it is a size 40DD from Avenue. Underwire which makes the girls look perkier than they really are. I am wearing leopard print panties from AVenue. LOVE their undies. Shanna I am with you. I found that when I stayed strictly ON PLAN with NS it worked great. By the way, isn't the food delicious? I also realized if I faltered just ONCE I was lost. If you get an urge to just slip a little? Stop and think would an alcoholic be able to do that? Would a drug addict be able to slip just a little? Sometimes that keeps me from going over the deep end. Can't wait to get home and get back to basics. SIGH!! I am with you Shanna.

You guys crack me up. I am dying over here. OK I was asked to voice my opinions as another moderator. 1. I think everyone should have the RIGHT to edit their OWN posts. 2. I think everyone should have the RIGHT to delete their OWN posts. 3. I think the deletion of WHOLE threads is a bit much. I would suggest if you really want the thread you started to disappear then ask a Moderator or the Administrator to delete only YOUR posts not the WHOLE THREAD. I don't think it is appropriate for someone else to delete or edit someone elses words. Yes, this has happened in the past and not much was said about it. But I do agree with Alexandra that it hasn't happened on this magnitude in this short period of time. There was some valuable information that was deleted recently. Yes, as Moderators we can go in and UN-DELETE any thread or post, but should we? Do you want us to do that at whim? I don't want that. As a member of LBT I wouldn't want that. So, it boils down to what is best for the WHOLE board and those decisions will be finalized by Alex, the owner with input from the 4 moderators. The poll that was started is good for fact finding and to get a "feel" of what everyone wants but in the end it is still Alex's decision what to do. We can either abide by that decision or not. Just my two cents and some change. LOL!!

I do that when I am home. Alas I ain't home. So I just don't keep anything bad in the hotel room. Other than Water and peppermints. Then I go crazy thinking I have lost something or forgot to do something then I remember what it is. I FORGOT TO EAT!! LOL!! Keeping myself busy when I get home will be NO problem. Well I am sorry for the added surgery and traumatic experience but I am thankful that the port is coming out and not your band. You should PM Lisa and talk to her. You will be in my prayers and thoughts. I just wish I was closer to you. I would pack that area for you FREE!!

I just made it a sticky. I could always use a prayer for strength and to remember my MOM as she continues to heal from her colon resection surgery.
