Ya know when you are faced with certain challenges in life and you know you either have to face them and persevere or just lie down and die then you have to make that choice. I thank GOD for my children every day, because they are what saw me through to keep on living and keep putting one foot in front of the other. I think I would have thrown in the towel years ago if it weren't for my children. I knew I had to take care of them because there was no one else to do it. They saved my life during those rough times.

Update on Christina, she wanted everyone on this thread to know she has lost 9 lbs as of this morning. WHOO HOO!! She is still battling the effects of her latest health issues but she is getting better. She is hoping to come and post soon. She is in need of continued prayers and white light and all the good vibes we can throw her way.

Yeah it was really hard to raise 4 children as young as I was and alone but man am I reaping the benefits now. I am 45 and my baby just graduated High School. NOW I can enjoy life a little. LOL!!!!

AFter graduation we all went to Denny's to eat supper. The graduation started at 6:30pm and was finished at 8pm so we were famished. Denny's was Bradley's choice since it was closest and it is one of his hangouts with his friends. His friend Ryan (the streaker) and Kyle, came over to the house later that evening to talk about the event. I was cracking up at the streaking. His sister caught the act on camera and Ryan had it to show us. Ryan's parents was in on the caper and encouraged him to follow through with it. TOO FUNNY!! The cops that had him in handcuffs was cracking up and told him he had some balls to pull it off. They let him go with NO charges filed. They had to make it look good in front of the school officials. We all booed when the cops took him off the field. Other than Bradley getting his diploma (green construction paper) that was one of the highlights of the ceremony. LOL!!!!!

Been in the swimming pool all week long for hours on end with my family. Got red then brown and all muscles ache. LOVE IT!!

Glad you like them Iziksmom. I thought they turned out really pretty. I almost kept them for myself. LOL!!!

Sorry with all my family here and today being HIgh School graduation things have gotten really hectic. I did speak to Christina yesterday. She is home and doing better. She is still as nuts as before and has that fighting spirit. I am sure she will get online and give us a full run down of all that has been going on. She got tired when I was on the phone with her and she did have to search for a word or two but all in all she is doing pretty well considering.

Just got off the phone with Christina. Today is much better than yesterday was for her. They found more clots in her body so they started her on blood thinners. Since she is off the birth control (which I think caused the stroke and docs seem to agree) her TOM is rearing it's ugly head. LOL!! She is weak but managed to chuckle a time or two in the conversation. She wants to say thank you to all who are sending up prayers and to thank us for sending the flowers. The blue vase cheers her up each time she sees it. I will report more when I know more.

I think both sites are very well done. Easily navigated and understandable. I think your comment and response to the one particular email was very "spot on". LOL!!

Lizzie: You don't 'always' have to have a fill done under fluoro. My band surgeon only does them if he has issues with accessing the port. I am going to school to become a Naturopathic myself and I try to do all natural remedies. I could not keep the band due to complications but I would suggest it to my clients if I were asked or all other avenues were explored. I do believe in the band.

Just spoke to Christina and she is doing better. She is hoping to go home on Friday but no guarantees. She is getting more tests done as a precaution to make sure things are back to normal. I told her all her Privates are wishing her well and sending her prayers. She appreciated that so much. While I was on the phone with her the flowers were delivered and she read the note back to me and laughed. That is a great sign. I am scheduled to call her later this afternoon. If there is any change I will come back and post something. Otherwise know that she appreciates all your prayers and well wishes.

OK, most of you know I have lost my band due to erosion. I went through a "bad patch" right after. I slipped into a deep depression and almost let it control me. I talked with a good friend and was encouraged to grieve and then let it go. Which is exactly what I did. The thing is, I didn't really realize I was grieving till I spoke with her. Then it became clear to me I was doing just that. I had to work through all the stages of grief. I am presently in anger and acceptance. One minute I am pissed off, then the next I am "ok I lost the band." I am leaning more toward the later nowadays. More calm now. It all comes down to just accepting where you are in life and appreciating it. Then deciding to make changes based on what you want. I put out in the universe that I wanted a particular car. I was determined to have it. I tried to convince my boyfriend to buy it for me. That didn't work. Then I tried to buy it myself and that didn't work. I had all but given up on owning this dream car. I prayed about it. I screamed it to the universe that I wanted this car. I just knew I was gonna get it eventually. Well Friday I got it. I applied for a loan that I just knew I wasn't gonna get and voila I got it. I drove that puppy home yesterday and I was in heaven. I have been making excuses to go places just so I can drive it. The point I am getting to is "ask for what you want". Speak it loud. Not squeak it to yourself or under your breath. SCREAM it out loud. Then allow the universe to work it's magic. It will come at the right time when it is right for you. Some people will think this is a bunch of HOOEY!! So what? Who cares? If YOU believe it then what does it matter what someone else believes. I am a Christian but I don't judge someone else simply because they aren't. I respect their beliefs even if they don't respect mine. The universe is a metaphor for whatever you believe will answer your prayers, requests, desires, wants, dreams, etc. If that is GOD then shout to GOD what you want. If it is a Goddess then shout to Her. If it is Buddha then shout to Him. Get the pic? You will never get what you want if you don't find your VOICE. Yes it hides from time to time. And it gets shut down by others as well. But you have the power to shout and ask for what you want. OK I have rambled long enough. "I WANT TO BE HEALTHIER AND LIGHTER IN WHATEVER FORM THAT MIGHT BE, AND THE AWARENESS TO SEE IT!" That was my shout did you hear it?

Haven't spoken with her or her sister today as yet. I am gonna wait till later in the day and see how she is doing. I will report back when I know something.

It was a stroke of superficial infarction in the cerebellum. She wanted me to let you all know she is doing well. I am going to call her back later tonight. The following is an email I received from her older sister Lisa. Penni - Christina has had a minor stroke on Monday. She is in the hospital and doing pretty well. She still has some problems with some words and writing skills but is getting better every hour. She will be in the hospital for a few days so they can run several tests to try and figure out why this happened. Unfortunately strokes do run in our family, both our father and grandfathers died fairly young from strokes. Thank you for any prayers in her behalf. Weight now: 269 :faint: Exercise today: 30 min (10 min at 2mph and 5 incline on treadmill; 10 min on the weight bench focusing on Triceps, biceps, and quads; 5 min on the Recumbent bike at full speed = heart rate up to 130; 5 min on Ab lounger) Diet: Strict adherance to Nutrisystem. I forgot all about this thread being in place. I started a new thread asking for prayers. Hey, I just got a phone call that a dear dear friend of mine just had a stroke last night. She is only 39 and is in relatively good health. I was and am so shocked to hear of the stroke. The early reports are that she is doing well and can speak but has problems writing. That is all I know. Keep her in your prayers, chants, send white lights, etc. I can't even begin to tell you guys how this affects me. I am just so devastated by it all. Just such a surprise.

Trish of course follow what you are being told by your wound Doctor but here is my concern. The pseudomonas scare is a real one. Also, if the wound is not being washed out with saline every time you pack then you could essentially push more infection into the wound instead of washing it out. The gauze strips you are speaking of acts as a wick to suck the infection out. But it needs the saline you use to wash out the wound to begin the wick process. At least this is what I learned in Nursing school. LOL!! The top layer is a thin layer of new growth. So it can close easily without the inside healing. I have seen it happen. Just because it looks good on the outside does not mean it is healing on the inside. That is the main concern. I know Lisa's took three months to fully heal properly. Please do let the Doctor look at the area just for piece of mind. If nothing else they should culture the green goo. Green to me is not good in an open wound. Just my thoughts.
