Does anyone use the soft Chocalate calcium chews. I starting using them because they are easier to take but they are 15 calories each. Caltrate makes them
I am looking for a new one to try. I will pick them up today.

I am day 4 and having the same soreness only in the port incision the only difference is mine are glued and I never had them covered! I am not wanting this to take a month yikes!! I still do not have an appetite yet I have been forcing myself to eat a couple of spoonfuls of broth and 1/2 a sf Popsicle I can drink plenty but no desire to eat yet figured I would be starving by now??
I had zero appetite but I didn't continue my Protein Drinks. Like StephGabbard said you have to get your protein in to heal. Best of luck !

My surgeon told me it would take the longest because that is where all of the biggest instruments are inserted during surgery. So there is more scar tissue there too that can burn or be sore as it breaks up during the healing process. No worries, I'm sure it will feel better soon.
Thanks for responding and thanks for the recovery wishes!!!

I am 4.5 weeks post op and my port incision just healed, and is now feeling better. I think it's the biggest incision and usually the thickest area so it just takes some time.
Thanks for posting!!!!! I feel much better knowing others have recovered similar.

Question: 3 out of 4 of my incisions feel healed but the incision/ port site is still very tender. I have no bleeding or discharge it still very sore. Is it normal for the spot to be tender and sore longer?
Also, my port site isn't on my waist and my waistbands do not come in contact with it.I get my staples removed Wed. Any responses would be helpful TY!!!!

Those were the worst! But my doctor was explaining to me how those intentionally make you hungry so I avoided them and the food network at all costs!
Awesome advice!!!

I was bored out of my mind as well. I blogged a lot of states on these boards. I watched TV or just slept because TV was driving me nuts as well
. Good luck
TY!!
The restaurant and food commercials make HUNGRY for solids lol

Thank you everyone !!! I took all your advice! I pressed on with my chores laundry, dinner for my family and even cleaned out some draws and a closet (YAY). Watched Flight with Denzel W. , got addicted to Scandal on Netflix, went to the hair salon and I did some shopping , I did one row at the outlet mall with my BFF yesterday it was so nice out! All in all my days have been fuller and I am feeling less sore each day. Thanks again for your input!!

Hi Cubanita, i had mine on the 26th....so i am a little ahead of you. Feeling much better today. I could have written your post. I am starving and last night i didn't get much sleep because of a headache. Ive had one almost every day but ydy was the worst. I took 2 Tylenol and slept today and feel so much better.
What i did was to get rid of the store bought Soups and made my own today. I think the sodium in them (even tho they say low sodium) was contributing to the headaches. Oatmeal in the mornings pretty filling but the liquids don't make me feel full at all. I don't know if they are supposed to. But I'm still sore and it hurts when i take a deep breath. Also my stomach, up near the top incision, seems bloated or swollen ad much bigger than normal. Every day is better, but counting the days until i can start eating.
I love your positive attitude. I am with you I can't wait till mushies and solids. Congrats on taking this big step!!

I was banded on Thursday February 28th. I was doing good with the liquids but I have twin 2 year old girls so of corse my husband has to cook them foods. The smell is getting me down and they are irritable because mommy is no longer a jungle gym. My husband has been a rock through this whole thing holding the girls together and he is also hoping to lose weight by following our diet.
So far I am sore but I do not want to take anymore liquid Vicodin because of some of the side effects.
What are some things that are keeping you newly banded ladies am gentlemen full?
I didn't have a appetite until yesterday ( 5 days post op) I still do ice chips, 1-2 Atkins shakes and non fat yogurt smoothies with yogurt, Crystal Light and ice YUM and 40 cal fudgicles and sugar free Popsicles , all my pre op diet. I tolerated a 1/2 cup of grits well yesterday for dinner . I am going to try a 1/2 cup egg beaters mid day today.

I am trying to keep very positive. I see the Doctor tomorrow for my first visit since surgery. What to expect. I know it's a process of healing. Your support here in has been amazing. Thank you all for posting all this wonderful information. I'm very sure that you all will be a hugh help / support to me during my new journey.

Hello Everyone!!!! I have a question, about how long will it take before this sore throat/sore roof of my mouth thing goes away? It's making it tough to want to eat and drink. Tea and ice chips have been my meals of choice. I am 4 days post op.

I was banded at 10:15 yesterday. Had a hard time in recovery..apparently have severe sleep apnea. They had to keep yelling at me to breathe. Other than that..no pain' date=' except gas. That is manageable though. No pain meds since yesterday. Hoping to get of the house tomorrow.[/quote']Wishing you Good luck...as well as a speedy recovery !!!

I was banded 2/26/2013 and I have been going stir crazy waiting to heal .What did everyone do to fill your days? I go back to work 3/11/2013.

So I was banded yesterday, now I'm going through the motions ("HOLY HELL WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO?!"). Either my gas pains haven't started yet, or they passed without much complication. My biggest problem is the deep muscle pain. This pain is ridiculous. My pain meds are helping, but only slightly. It's extremely hard to sleep, because I am a tummy sleeper and I just can't get comfortable on my back. Did any of you use a heating pad? I'm just not sure if it is better to use heat or ice.
Congratulations on taking this step!!! I prefer ice but I am told either is fine, it's what soothes you best.

Thx for the reassurance!!!!!!

I got my first fill/adjustment yesterday. I can already tell that it's not enough... (I'm at 2cc's) They want me to go in every 2 weeks until I'm reach the green zone. Wish me luck!
Best of Luck!!!!!!

Hello All! I went in this morning at 5:30 to have my surgery. Everything went great. I was a little nauseated after surgery and they gave me medicine in my IV. I have no gas pains this far. I am so happy I made this decision!!
Congratulations!!!!

Team February 2013 Bandsters!!!!
I am officially banded. My surgery was Tuesday Feb 26th. I stayed in the hospital Tuesday night and discharged today 2/27 at 10am.
I was beat yesterday after the surgery I slept from 11am-5pm. I didn't end up having the hernia (which I thought was odd).
My doctor said the band was perfectly placed and that I could add oatmeal and reduce fat cream Soups today but haven't had the appetite to do so yet.
I am sore but not unbearably sore. I am doing MM size Advil 400mg and I will take the Tylenol with Codeine ,if needed, but the taste of the liquid is worse than the pain in my book lol.
