Hi Lucygirl, My dr didnt numb me either, it hurted alot. I had to ease into car and ride with the seat reclined. Luckily my aunt drove me there. I went to work afterwards and had to go home early to lay down.

Hi Gailannr, My second fill is scheduled for 6/19. The nurse said it will be better. I hope she's right. I went to work right after having it done and started feeling pain like I had after having the surgery. I had to leave work early and go home to lay down.

How many incisions did you wind up with after surgery?

Hello, I went to the dr today. He did a fill, this hurted. They told me that the first fill is a little uncomfortable. That was putting it mildly. Did the first fill hurt anyone else. Then I was told to stay on clear liquids for 24 hrs. Dang, if I knew that I would have eaten before going to his office. Lol. Thank you __________________ ARD Banded on 4/16/07

Hi Everyone, I went to my first post op visit yesterday. I thought the scale was broken because it showed a loss of 23 lbs. I am so happy. The special treat for me was my nutritionist said that I can eat a half cup of a small sized chilli from WENDYS as a meal.

Hello, Just wanted to say that I was banded on 4/16. Everything has been going better than I thought it would. I got my approval letter from BCBS on the 18th, two days after surgery.

Hello Everyone, Im doing very well. I was banded on 4/16, I have not had a BM yet. How long did it take you all. I am passing the gas which my doctor said is a good thing. The shoulder pain is mild, I sleep with a heating pad. My incisions are so small and neatly done. I am really happy with the aftermath so far. Thank you all for your help and advice.

Hi Everyone, After my fact finding mission, the final answer is that my doctor was correct. My job is a small company which means our insurance policy doesnt cover everything 100%. But the good news is that my doctor has me scheduled for pre admission tests on Thursday and I have my surgery on Monday 4/16. Thank you guys for your help.

Thank you.

I was thinking the same thing about the port. Why do the surgery and leave out the port as if it's an unneccessory accessory. I'm going to call the insurance company to check on this too. Thanks

Hi Everyone, This is my first post. Thank you for all the information I have obtained from this forum. I have a question. I'm going throught the process of getting the required tests completed, only test left to do is the sleep study which is scheduled for next week. The surgery has not been approved yet but my surgeon informed me that my insurance Horizon BCBS NJ HMO will more than likely pay for the lap band procedure and the surgeon's fees but not for the port which is an out of pocket fee of $2000. Has anyone else had to pay this fee? Just wondering. Thanks
