Hi...Im beggining my process with the lapband. I just have the appointment for the seminar, I know its just the beginning. ...Im concern about the insurance approval and I hope anyone here can give me an advise, or tell me your expirience...Im in the process of disability to take ssdi. I have anxiety disorder and other things...I think Im in the end of the process because in May I will have my hearing with the ss judge. I have two years of therapies, medication and depression too. My question is, its possible my insurance can denies me for my condition my mental history or my actual meds??? Now I take Clonazepam, Wellbutrin, and Ambien.... Any experience or advise I will really appreciate!

Hi people.... I will have my first surgeon appointment this week....I was reading and searching information about the band and the sleeve...Now, Im very confused! My BMI is now 35.6, I have Diabetes 2, hbp, and now GERD....I dont know if any person here have my problem, now after months of doing my work (teaching my self about the band), I dont know what to do. Lap band (refills, long term, erosion..), and sleeve (leaks, staples, cut a part of my stomach...) If anyone had this brain storm, please give me an advise...Im in the point to cancel my surgeon appointment. ... God bless !

My pcp doesn't want to give me a referral to my bariatric surgeon because, she doesn't like the WLS !!, she told me isn't a good idea because she see a lot of people with complications , problems more with lap bands.... I was speechless, I took my decision after reading, research, and with the help of this forum, and I choose the lap band surgery, I know I'm a good candidate and now what??? She just referred me to a Weight Loss Program in her hospital.... , I can attend my first visit with my surgeon this week because I dont need a referral, but I think I need later my pcp help right? Any experience or help is appreciate... Thanks

My insurance dont required a pcp for the surgeon appointment, but I think I will be need a letter of necessity or medical necessity of my pcp....

Yea, I was thinking in that...its no easy with my medical conditions, but I have to do it!
