Why do they also call ME a bad speller/typist? That post above was supposed to why do they call ME ...
-
I agree ... but why do people call be Chewbacca?
-
I forgot to ask this ... Why would I shave my legs before surgery if I don't shave them now? (kidding)

Thank you, thank you! Those are the kind of specifics I need (name of brand, etc.). I wrote everything down for my shopping spree. I will be having my surgery here in Utah, hopefully on an outpatient basis. I loved your suggestion of the Mexican wedding dress ... not only will I feel better but I'll look cute too! I don't know what I'd do without you all! (I'm totally serious - I have learned so much from you - you're all great!)

Marie and Darcy - Thanks for your responses and support. I plan on doing a little shopping spree (at the drug store - wheeee!) tomorrow or Friday and stocking up on all the fun stuff. Thanks for the reminder of loose clothing. Would you suggest sweats or something more like a nightgown - the nightgown would be my personal preference!

Hi Everybody - I am scheduled to be banded August 16 (YIKES!). I am very scared, but also excited. This site has been a goldmine of information for me. Thanks to you all. My question is this: I remember from a while back someone suggesting items for a shopping list for when you come home from being banded... does this sound familiar to anyone? Anyway, would you mind repeating your shopping list? I think it had a gas relief medication on the list (but I can't remember which medication was recommended) and it also had a heating pad listed. Any other suggestions? I want to be totally prepared so that my journey is as easy as possible (and also I'm a little psycho too!). Thanks!

Donali - It bears a remarkable resemblance to me ....

You look amazing ... I can only hope to someday be as successful as you have been. Good job!

Neicy - Thanks for the reply. I go for my first doctor visit this Friday, so I will discuss post-op stuff in detail then. I have been to a pre-op support group that suggested liquids/soft diet for the first 4-5 weeks. I realize also that it will take a lot for my body to starve! I guess I'm still thinking about that yo-yo dieting effect from losing weight, then gaining more back because your metabolism has slowed down. (Have you heard this theory before, or am I on crack?) I also realize that with the band, I (hopefully) won't be yo-yo'ing anymore. (Yipee! - although I'm saying it with hesitancy and near disbelief)

Hi Everybody! Hope I'm doing this the right way - I'm not very savy when it comes to this kind of email chat stuff. I am scheduled for banding August 16th but I still have a few questions. What happens to our metabolism if we are eating so many less calories a day? Doesn't our bodies think we are in the "starvation" mode (like all of our past diets - I know, I know - this isn't a diet) and therefore, slow way, way down? When we begin with our exercise program does that help it speed up? Am I a dork and missing something here? Thanks to all on this board. I have been lurking in the background for a long time and have found many answers to questions, comfort for nerves, and a lot of laughs. Thanks again!
