24 days post op port pain from overeating?
Kitt3000 replied to MamaRita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If there is one thing I have found out.. Getting too hungry is a recipe for disaster with my band. -
Is anyone having success and enjoying their banded life?

Awesome!! -
IMHO, enjoy. If you are counting the calories, you are getting the benefits of milk and coffee too. What's the harm if it doesn't create acid? Anyone have thoughts on it?

Sounds over simplistic, but listen to your body. Grab rest and a nap whenever you can. I remember this feeling soooo well. As far as food is concerned, I remember fixing some hot cream of wheat, kind of runny, and thinking it was the best thing I had ever ate! Lol! It gets better my friend! When you are allowed, a proteins shake, smoothie, frappe , will help you feel like you too are having a treat, while hubs has ice cream. When you are properly adjusted, you will find you can easily pass up the desserts... You are on your way, it's going to be amazing!

I can see how you might feel about it when you are sick and just feel crummy. All I can tell you is I'm 12 years older than you, and I wish I had been banded 15 years ago. I have learned a new way of eating, drinking, problem solving, and handle the new found attention! It was and remains the best gift I've ever given myself. Hope you are feeling better soon!????

No. It was an iPad. It only happened during the course of one day. Sorry I did not report it at the time, in retrospect, it would have been much simpler to correct while it occurred . I just found it amusing at the time.

Here is a question for ya all, if we are supposed to chew chew chew to mush, why does it matter if we are eating sliders? Or protein shakes?
-
Wow Kindle, I had no idea how vocal people would be regarding your post- last count 70 replies. Good job getting a discussion going It has been interesting!

No bs. Just experience with people my entire life, admittedly, small minded, only want to know so they have something to talk about- or make up something- if they actually don't have facts... My body, my business , don't care what most people think, happy to share with folks here who genuinely come here for info and support. I admittedly like animals more than most people- because animals are genuine. Which does not mean I I don't have close friends, or people who love me, but, sometimes you are damed if you do, damed if you don't . Good thread, enjoy hearing both sides, but have to agree with the two post above, one a button down professional work environment , where most things are impersonal, and the other post stating it's a choice each person should make for themselves, based on their truth and circumstance, has need of being respected. We all are doing the best we can, no bs

I had this happen too, she was one of the magazine contributors- short blonde hair? Cute so I didn't mind!

Hmmm, maybe your tummy is saying " I'm not ready for this, I'm still healing"? When something isn't working, go back to what was, and slowly move forward. Especially after throwing up episodes, it's likely your pouch and banded area has become irritated, and will be all the more sensitive. I hope you feel better soon, a call into your doc may be in order? Feel better my friend!

I remember that! Oh wait- mine still makes those noises. Lol! I find for me, it's not hunger, more like pulling the plug in the sink, and hearing everything gurgle on the way down. Eventually, (some days I think it's never going to stick), I hope to be so in touch with my body, that my mind will just know, it's not true hunger, it's all in my muscle memory- and of course, the gurgle sink! Cheers!

I do feel quite full and satisfied, after sipping on one, I enjoy them, and I get dairy, protein , fruit, fiber, probiotics, all in at the same time. I also eat regular meals, of protein and vegetable . I just wonder why slider smoothie has a bad rap. I don't feel full or satisfied on a protein drink, so I get that. I have always been a fan of frappe drinks, so if I can get fruits, veggies, etc in one "meal", stay full, and enjoy it too, I think why not? But, I also like to hear others thoughts on healthy suggestions. Never know what "nugget" will inspire!

So , would you say a thick (like milkshake consistency) chia seeds, diatamatious earth, strawberry, blueberry, banana, Greek yogurt, scoop of Protein powder, ice water- is a slider? Or are we saying junk food, like cake candy Cookies, ice cream pudding etc? Cause that smoothie I make above stays with me for hours- sometimes the entire day.... Curious .....

That is simply the best feeling, and then you look at it, make peace that it fits but no longer in style and "let it go" let it go".......

I eat within the guide of no more than a cup of food. What really happens, is some meals I can eat that full cup, other times, after three bites, I'm done. Some days the high protein fruit smoothie I make, fills me so well, that I'm not interested in food. And then there are times when something taste so good, I don't want to stop, but the band clearly speaks enough! Who knows if it's right or wrong, it just is... I do try to make sure I remember that multi vitamins & my fav flax seed oil!

Bandista, have you thought about using flaxseed oil as part of your salad dressing?

Yes woowoo, you are correct, some clothing in a size two today is our modern 12. That would have made her between 2 and size 6. Crazy right?

Being small and agile enough to climb over third row seats in a vehicle with baby car seats everywhere ! Sometimes, you just have to go out the back hatch!!
