insensitive? yes. since you have the relationship that you do with him, i suspect he may be trying to improve his own diet/ health, what he said may have been more about his behavior, past or present regarding mcdonalds, than an insult drected at you. hugs.

Just fine 1 day - Miserable the next 7 - What gives?

Happens to me too. Maybe that is why I have seen another member call the band a fickle mistress? -
Doing the happy dance for you! Woooo woooo!

Yes and maybe. Why I say this is whatever amount works for you, may not work for me. Some people have say, 3cc and Some have 8. For each person, that amount is correct for them. We all respond differently to the amount of the fill, so IMHO, knowing the cc amount only means something to the doctor, as a patient, if I am still not satisfied with the doctor recommended quantity of food, it may mean another fill is required. Good luck! Hope you find your sweet spot soon!

Do people treat you differently?
Kitt3000 replied to vincereautmori's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I totally agree Mis. It used to make me angry and I think I ate more as an fu. This time, I know what to expect, and I have just smiled and laughed about how shallow most people are. These are not the people who look for what is inside, and frankly, I don't care to have them as friends. -

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that my number one reason for the lap band was to get weight off and find out if I had relief from back pain. I am happy to say yes! For me, I have had almost no back pain. I am able to walk up to five miles at this time, and still ride another 7 miles a day on my bike, pain free. I am a work in progress. There were days when I could not get around my house without pain, so I am thrilled with the out come of the band so far!

I would think that unless you need a fill or infill, your primary would be the one to see you to diagnose and treat your symptoms of acid reflux.

Beautiful! Just beautiful.

So many post with newbies and wannabe's stressing out about if their pre authorization with their insurance will be approved. Ecstatic when approved! Cannot possibly make it through the liquid diet, or possibility of post op pain. Do it any way, then break every rule laid out for success with the band. Really? Is it because you do not value the wonderful gift of having partial payment from the insurance company, therefore, the band does not hold the same value as it would if you paid 15 thousand out of pocket? Or, do you not value yourself? Some of the behavior exhibited, makes a mockery of the hard fought battles of folks struggling to loose by following the rules, and when they are successful, the same people who break every rule, wonder why the band isn't working for them, how they are not one of the "lucky" ones. It's all about you. Decide before you put yourself through all of the above, that you are going to do this, not cheat yourself, and not cheat some of the amazing people on here, who don't know you, and are reaching out to help you be successful. Sorry for the rant, but it's so upsetting when people break the band rules.

Right on hockeymother! Get it girl! -
I know Sept seems a long way off, maybe you could still go out with your friends. Being poolside does not have to mean bathing suit. Shorts and a T. Have some crystal light, play some games, heck, even pitching quarters, or a super water blaster on a hot day! Find the kid in you and enjoy your summer! Hang in there, it gets better!

Awesome! You. Yes, that's you.

Way to go! Love, love hearing this!

The rules I am referring to are what admittedly are their doctor's rules.

Rejoice. One step closer to the goal!

If you want to change you have to be willing to be uncomfortable. Like it.

Is it possible to go to a different doctor?

Solid food protein sticks with you, allowing you to feel full longer. They tell us not to drink 30 min before and at least 30 min after eating protein first, veggies second. If you are drinking your protein, it does not stay in your pouch as long as solid food does. You may need more fills also. Your doctor's office is a good resource, especially if you are snacking between meals.
