    Describe the green zone

    We can't really tell you how you will feel in the green zone, :-) As you know each doctor is different, each body reacts as an individual. My doc is also pretty aggressive with fills, but I know he is always there if I am overfilled also. Usually our conversation goes like this, can you eat half or more of a hamburger? Can you eat a solid cup of turkey, chicken, etc? Or more? Do you feel hungry before four hours? Based on that, he decides if a fill is in order. I feel like I am in the green zone. I can eat a few bites of omelet or 1/2 cup of yogurt in the morning. A cup total of protein a little veggies. A 6 oz protein fruit smoothie. More or less five spoons of food. I have no physical hunger between meals. If I'm busy, I can easily forget to eat. I drink between meals, and will drink a greens plus drink to get concentrated fruit and veggies. It's difficult for me to eat in the early morning, but by ten, I can start my meals for the day. Hope this helps, everyone will have a different experience to share!

    I know that snacking feeling... I utilized some of that nervous energy, made some tuna salad, and ate some on crackers. Needed that xtra salt today. Amazing, I am still full. Thanks for the reminder to go back to basics, protein first..,

    Whey Protein?

    I have a protein shake mid morning too. I usually am tighter in the morning, so the way I make sure I get the protein that I need per day is one shake. I am properly adjusted, no way can I eat all the protein, veggies, fruit, that my body needs without some liquid help. Right or wrong.., it just is.

    Lelow, could not agree with you more! Have faith friends, if a door closes, a window opens up. Really, sometimes people and things move out of our lives to make room for the next part of our journey. Sending positive thoughts and positive energy your way!

    Post-Op Liquid Diet?

    Since each person is an individual with their own issues, age, condition, healing time, etc.. The same doctor will prescribe different treatment for each individual. Sure, there are general guidelines, but what works for one person may have to be adjusted and modified for the next person. I'm with Cheryl on this, he knows you and is doing his best to make sure you have no problems. If the goal is four weeks, think how happy you will be if he can modify it for you, based on your individual results! Joining everyone else in sending you best wishes and welcome!

    Too tight or just right?

    One of the toughest situations for me to learn regarding meat, cut it up very thin, pieces like you would cut up for a toddler. Frequently check in with yourself. Ask if you are still comfortable, if you are border line. Stop, wait, chat with your companion, or if you are alone, walk away. Give yourself a few minutes. If you have not ate your full portion, go back but please don't get to uncomfortable, because you will really regret when it becomes painful. Good quality fresh deli meats (I use boars head) sliced thin, has been very helpful when I eat solid protein. I also try to get protein in first, I only have veggies and carbs if I can fit it in. I think this is where the multi vitamin comes in handy. I'm still struggling with the social aspect of eating with others. I choose to not share regarding the lap band. Usually I use the excuse that I had a late meal earlier in the day, and no one thinks it odd when I order a cup of soup. I am in the green zone, rarely hungry, more being mindful of the need to eat something. Wishing you well - happy you finally had your issues resolved!

    So what about boredom? Anxiety? Stressed? Have you become addicted to your phone or laptop? Do you just get out and move? Do you have new hobbies? Do you shop? Are you drinking more coffee/ tea than before? What about using alcohol or gambling? Have your pets become your focus? Anyone showing dogs or horses? Has your kindle list expanded with new books? Have you become a social butterfly? Is your garden in the best shape ever? Are your activities solitary or groups? Join a league of some kind? Competitive ?

    No weight loss

    You really should address this question with your doctor. From my own experience, I did not loose weight right away, in fact, I did gain after the band was placed. My guess is it takes time for our bodies to heal and adjust. While that is happening, it's important to learn new behaviors. My first thought is try eating your protein portion first, then if you have room, vegetables. For me, I find if I don't eat protein , I don't loose. Look at the daily food successful banders eat. CG shows everyone how she makes her chicken salad, green beans and carrots for her work lunch. I find if I start my day off with a protein smoothie/ shake, my next meal is a solid piece of fish,chicken, or beef. A cup of soup, yogurt.. Keeping protein first in my mind. I am thankful for all the people who have helped me along the way on this board. I hope you find the same support. Try to think positive about your new tool, get it adjusted properly, and do your part to make it work for you. Only you can hold yourself accountable for what you put in your mouth. Good luck!
