    SYNCELITE all day activity tracker

My goal is 10 thousand steps a day. When I first bought the fit bit, I was clipping it to the center of my bra. I live in the tropics, the moisture from sweat, caused it to not work- I think. Since then, I attach it to the pocket on my pants, shoe etc.. No problems since I changed location. I consistently wore it faithfully everyday, what a motivator! When it broke, I got out of the habit, but since you reminded me, I will have to locate it and get back on track! The best way for me to make sure to get all my steps in, is walking the dogs, or pushing the stroller! Have fun!

    SYNCELITE all day activity tracker

With the fit bit, when you set up your stats, it changes the amount of steps, also, even though they say clip to your bra, you don't register as many steps. My husband, taller, heavier, will walk the exact amount of steps with me, and mine will register less steps!! The only thing I can figure out, his stride must be registering longer distance?

    SYNCELITE all day activity tracker

Never heard of it, but did see the fitbit band at SAMs club yesterday. I have bought fitbit on Amazon, and the Apple Store. One nice thing about fitbit, when one went bad, I emailed them, they replaced it with a new one for free. Regardless of which one you have, it's great motivation! Have fun competing with yourself!
  4. Mommabird, that was so caring of you! Blessings right back to you. Most people would not go out of their way to stand up for and to- a bully! Kudos!

    Size 14!

It's true, only those who have been there and done that not only get it but feel your joy for you all over again! Happy dance! Wooot whooot!
  6. Bicycle clothing might also work for hiking, the shirts are wicking, some are SPF, some have water pouches across the back, and even men's might work with sizing. Fishing shirts, pants that zip off into shorts.... Gander Mountain , cabellas, bass pro shops, check out their clearance sections for best prices.
  7. Same advice.. I wasted money on clothes I wore once! Once the weight started coming off, I breezed past sizes all together. From an 18 to a 2. Yoga pants and stretch everything was a help, once I hit the small sizes, the fit really mattered when it came to warmth. You can get by with less than you think. With the price of new jeans at 100.00++, I bought them at consignment stores and did not feel a bit guilty cutting the hems off. Even if I only got a couple of weeks out of them - I did not get angry at myself for paying too much. There is a chain of stores here called Plato's closet , small sizes, cheap prices, love it!
  8. The short answer is yes. I have become a little lazy lately so maybe I am taking a breather... But promise to get back on the horse again soon!!

  12. Are you offering an e-book? I have to admit, I enjoy reading on my iPad or iPhone, I love reading, but dislike all the space they take up until I re home them!
  13. This morning, as I was crawling on the floor, playing monster trucks with a two year old, I found myself feeling so grateful ! In 14 months post surgery, how my life has changed! The chronic back pain is now occasional, I can RUN without getting out of breath, I am a size 2-4 instead of 18, my energy level is through the roof! Could not be happier! Thanks to the lap band, I truely have a new lease on life! Wishing you all success however you define it!

4 weeks post op & scale isn't decreasing

Nothing wrong if you are doing what your doctor has told you. It's down, it stops, it's up and all over again. Try reminding yourself this is your new normal. Regardless if you loose today or not, you will get to your goal, some quicker than others, because we each are unique. What works for one, not for the other. Have faith stick to your plan, strive to improve a little each day, be happy, relax! Hugs!

    Blender Blunders

This morning I started my daily protein shake/ smoothie. A little water, the last of the Greek yogurt, scoop of protein powder, frozen strawberries and voila! Blend in the Bella Rocket Blender! Only this morning, the threaded cup locked tight in the machine (which is the on switch). Unplugged , tried with all my might to get the cup out of the machine! No luck! I'm laughing at myself for "fighting" with the blender - After all- THERE IS NO MORE YOGURT! And I don't live in town! Went into hubs tools, found a small flat screw driver and finally , broke the seal! :-) you can guess, it also broke the lock on the blender... So as I sit here, enjoying my breakfast, any suggestions for a small compact one or two serving RELIABLE blender? Cost not an issue, it's about convenience and portability. Thanks in advance! Hope you are enjoying your protein today!

    Thinking of changing therapists

Mmmmmm, for me, a therapist is not a role model. I think it's important to seek qualified professionals. Continuity also has it's benefits. Your doctor and staff are going to guide you to a degree, topics on this forum could spark a discussion with your therapist. As with most things in life, I tend to get results to the degree I am committed and be willing to do the work. Having a special needs child, each therapist that comes into her life, always wants to go back to the basics, and usually, by the time they work through the basics (time, money), they have advanced in their careers, and move on to a new job, location, etc... And here we go again...back to basics. I wish you good luck and success with your weight loss, I applaud you for doing the work with a therapist !
  18. My sincere thank you for creating and maintaining this site. Like many others, I have frequently been inspired, informed, entertained, by the post of the many members here. Thankful to have the opportunity offered. Congratulations, many years of continued success!

    Thinking of changing therapists

Maybe it's like going to a marriage/ family therapist who is not married or have children, but guess what? They have years of school, sat for state boards and more years of on the job experience . I agree with go walking on this one, so important to maintain that relationship of trust, as well as not starting from scratch with a new therapist ..you know, family of origin etc.. Sounds like more of an investment in time and money to switch. Since you can tell her anything, let her know your concern.

    Eating in public

I know it's not always practical, but if you can take a snap lock container and put half in right away- saying you are saving some for later, or let your friends know you are not very hungry and just having a cup of soup or dinner salad, spend most of your time cutting the salad smaller, and participate in the çonversation, most everyone will forget once they begin eating. Soon, you will become more comfortable with it yourself, and with practice, you will handle it smoothly. We all feel or felt the same. Feeling empathy!
