    Coffee?

When I started my pre-op diet I mentioned how I missed my "hi-test" coffee. My doctor gave me the ok to have caffeinated coffee. So, along with my protein shake I had my coffee with 2 TBSP of half and half. I have to have my morning coffee. I have a nightshirt that says "give me my coffee. and nobody gets hurt" lol. Still enjoying my coffee. Banded on 12/28/12, down 80 lbs. 60 more to goal!
  2. I'd rather have the opportunity to be able to re-operate than have no other alternative. I'm banded and I'm happy with it. In case of complications I can do something about it. My daughter has the sleeve since July and she looks fantastic but if there are complications she has no alternatives. It's a matter of personal choice. My doctor does the band and the sleeve. My daughter's surgeon no longer does the band. He only does the sleeve and gastric bypass.

Came back to forum, because I need support...

Love those clementine mandarin oranges as well! Like. You, I take two at a time! My son loves them so much that I gave a box to him for Christmas. It's a nice juicy sweet treat.

My cousins Sur and Dave Bridge have lived in Sparta since the 70's. I know they got flooded out a couple of times. Is it still a flood zone there?

Banded 4 days... Liquid phase is killing me!

I don't think it will hurt you but will probably fill you up a little but you should probably ask your doctor or nutritionist . Try sugar free Popsicles or no sugar fudgesicles it might satisfy you at the end of your day after your liquids diet.

    Got completely deflated today

I was told by my PCP that dental health problems can affect your whole body and that's why it is so important that you go for regular check ups and to take care of your teeth.

    Considering the Lapband..

It took me 3 years to convince myself to go with the bsnd. When I went to my first info meeting, I was very doubtful. Then, I found out that the insurance I had did not cover WLS. Then I considered saving my money and I would go to Mexico (I live in FL). Well, I had changed my insurance and I went to another informational meeting. That's when I found out my new insurance would cover lapband. All I would owe was $800 between co-pays, psychological counseling and my pre-op diet. It was amazing that the relief of the fact that my insurance would cover it took my fear away. I was now ready for my lapband and 80 lbs lost since 12/28/12 convinces me I made the right decision with the lapband. I still have 60 lbs to go and it's slow coming off now but at least I'm losing!
  11. Ok I'm from FL and I am sitting here freezing at 50 degrees Fahrenheit. My NY relatives laugh at me but I've lost 80 lbs since 12/28/12 and I 'm sitting here in a sweatshirt, sweater and jacket and I still have 60 lbs to lose! I guess I'd rather bundle up than have the weight! :-)
  12. I agree with Lady VS, I keep antacids by my bedside. I've been banded since 12/28/12 and I'm STILL receiving fills. I have an extremely conservative doctor and there are times when I feel I can't eat another bite. Then there are times when I get heartburn. It is rare however. I still don't know my band and I don't think I ever will for sure. Everybody is different so the best thing to do when you are unsure is to contact your doctor. The fact that someone has never had a problem since 2006 and is now experiencing problems would be a red flag to call your doctor and make sure everything is OK. I hope all has been worked out for you.

  15. We're all in the same boat. I have that fear everyday that I will not be successful. I'm a little over a year post op and I have lost but did have a 3 lb gain two months ago. I'm back on track now. I've lost about 80 lbs and still have a ways to go.

    Hello !

You'll do fine if you stick to the rules. Good luck!
  17. I always carry a protein bar with me. Solid food is needed to fill you up. If you like a homemade soup make sure it's full of protein (beans and/or meat) and lots of veggies. You'll be getting protein and lots of vitamins from your veggies and a feeling of fullness. Good luck to you!

    Lap Band Port Area Discomfot

Your surgeon may have fixed the problem by manipulating the port but I had similar symptoms and my port had flipped. My surgeon tried to manipulate it but I starting experiencing pain so I had a simple day surgery to have my port repositioned and now everything is fine. Hope everything is well with you!
