Good luck to you!

Would not that be covered by your insurance? A band slippage is a complication that occurred because of the band I'm just saying that because 5 1/2 months out my port flipped. I had to get insurance approval and I got it. I was covered for the day surgery because it was considered a complication from the band. Good luck!

gaining weight after 6 yrs of surgery
dawalsh replied to craiga4274's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Have you been going for regular fills in those six years? I faithfully go to my surgeon once a month and I'm almost two yrs out. It gets tedious going for fills and it's 2 1/2 hrs drive to my surgeon but I'm still not in the green. -
An ultrasound might be able to diagnose that but my surgeon was able to poke and prod a little and was able to figure it out. When he did it he unfilled me and he's been gradually filling me since May 10th. He is very conservative so I'm not totally in the green zone but I'm getting there. I hope they can help you out soon. Good luck!

Are you sure your port didn't flip? Sounds exactly like what happened to me. The doctor gave up on filling it after I screamed in pain. He poked and prodded a little bit and scheduled me for day surgery. I had to go under anesthesia but it was a quick fix.i have not had a problem since he fixed the flipped port. Good luck to you.

Yeah im just a little over a month out. Thank you for being so sweet when I was feeling so awful I couldn't barley tolerate liquids the only thing I could stomach/ stand to smell was some grape Gatorade thankfully it was only 30 cals. I definitely had enough calories to last me the rest of the week. My band just gave me some tough love. I have my post op appointment next week from now where im supposedly getting an adjustment. Do u think that I should hold off on it for now or do u think it would be better to have my band lead the way? These grown up decisions are too difficult lol I think I need more educationAsk your doctor about the fill. He may want you to rest the band but don't miss your appointment. Good luck!

Walk a lot and move your arms a lot. Frequent movement helps to break up the gas. This too, shall pass! Good luck to you! -
Congrats B-52! That is awesome! You look so fit! Do you have any before pics? Keep up the good work!

I'm really sorry to hear that in the IK. I think in the US you'd have the opposite reaction. Can you change companies or is it like that all over the IK? I wish you the best! -
Me too!

You look wonderful and pretty in both pictures but you definitely look slimmer now than when you were married. You made a beautiful bride by the way. -

You look fantastic! I was banded 13 months ago and I'm down 80 lbs but I personally don't see it. People around me notice the difference but I don't. I still have 60 lbs to go so maybe I won't be happy until I hit goal. -

Stuck, just stuck! Help
dawalsh replied to beautiful_amazon's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, what Lisacaron said. Go back to basics and start with the liquid diet again and keep going to the doctor for fills. No need to be embarassed, gains happen to the best of us. I think a lot of WLS people stop going to the doctor because they are embarassed because they have gained. Getting back on track is key. I wish you well as you continue your journey! -
I was not self pay but my daughter had the sleeve (I had the band). Anyway, she went self-pay and took a huge loan out through Care Credit. She also did not want to wait for the insurance rules and to wait to see if she might be approved. Anyway, she does not regret it one bit. Because she was cash she got a discount. She had surgery in July and looks great! I'm over a year post op and I've lost 80 lbs. so good luck to you and I'm sure there are loads of people on this forum who were self pay.

Two Months so far, is this normal?
dawalsh replied to ahanna2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said that 4 lbs a month is the expected weight loss average. That's 4 lbs a month. This is not the show The Biggest Loser. As Carolinagirl said. A loss is a loss. I'm over a year post surgery and I'm losing slowly but I'm losing. I'm down 80 lbs but still have 60 to goal. It is very slow so I'm being patient. Good luck to you.
