Has anyone had experience binge drinking with the band?
dawalsh replied to Wendydarling19's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK I celebrated the 27th anniversary of my 39th birthday last night and I did over indulge a bit lol. I had enough drinks to be brave enough to get up and sing karaoke. OK I survived but I don't recommend binge drinking, you might wind up like me and sing karaoke LOL -
just had my lap band done today

I failed to mention my left arm and hand still have residual paralysis and spasticity so I am limited but pedaling my feet in a stationary position might work. I'd have to figure out my left arm and hand issue when it comes to pedaling my arms but I'm all for it. Thanks for your hep.

Thank you for bringing that thread up. I am a miracle survivor of a massive stroke that left me paralyzed and speechless at first. Then with the miracle of an MRI it was found I had hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and after a series of several spinal taps they did surgery and I had a shunt inserted in the ventricles of my brain. After the surgery my speech came back and my paralysis partially disappeared. Anyway I walk with a cane but because of the surgery I've lost my equilibrium. So, I am limited on any kind of exercise. I lose my balance easily. I went to a yoga class and fell backwards immediately hit my head into a wall, etc. this was a class for people with physical limitations. I can only sit or lay down to do anything safely. I can't walk far I am unable to do most normal exercise. Any suggestions for me, it's preventing me from losing more weight. Any suggestions?

You're at Panera Bread and I'm in a real dilemma. I'm the group coordinator for support in Brevard County, FL. I tried to get one of the libraries for us to meet, they are booked for the entire summer for children's programs. So, I found a place called the Sunrise Bread Company. They sell coffee and all types of bread products. Anyway, they have a free room upstairs we can use no purchase necessary but a beverage such as coffee would be appreciated. Anyway, we're going to meet on Wed mornings until I can find a non-food venue that is free. Any suggestions for me for a better meeting place?

i put this out several months ago I had to let Alex know about it first. It was brought out in 2012 when Alex had the desperate forums. It is not an advertisement. It is a group of people who want to meet in a challenging atmosphere. We can cruise and lose weight. For those that are able there will be special activities ( exercise class every mornin).By the way, I am the local support group leader for central FL. I am a lapband patient. Originally it only went to the lapband group. Then my daughter had the sleeve done in TX. My daughter asked that I bring it up to the sleeve forum. I also brought it up to the gastric bypass group. Thank you for your concern. The cruise by the way has a very limited number of cabins so that's why it's urgent deposits be made by 5/28.

Interesting article on changes when you lose half your body weight
dawalsh replied to lsereno's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I still feel that way. Eventhough I've lost weight and gotten down to Misses sizes (18), I still head out to the plus size section but instead of a 3X I go to a 1X but I'm really a L or XL but I need loose fitting clothes, maybe I'll accept the fact that I've lost weight. -
It takes time. I'm out 17 months and still tweaking fills. I go monthly. Doc says I can get a check up every 6 WLS once I get into ONEderland. Until then I go monthly. I get frustrated but figure I didn't have surgery for nothing.my doc is extremely conservative with his fills. I'm not complaining because as long as I'm compliant the green zone will come. Best wishes to you

I know it's discouraging but you can do it. I'm 5 lbs from ONEderland going on 6 months now but I know I need to walk more and get motivated that way. I'm not giving up ever and I know with my mind set to exercise more will get me where I need to be? Good luck! -
